This wave is best suited for mid-high tide but these bodyboarders jump out dangerously close to dead low tide. Rocks stick out everywhere just inches away from the run line of the wave. I'm 56 years old now but I surfed shark island many times when I was a teen on my Larry Bertllemen twin fin , cabbage and the point where great no crowds like today . The boat harbour reefs and Voodoo were also great when the swell was up . I had a bloke drop in on me and cut me off at the island once and I got dragged across the rock , cut me up pretty much with the barnacles growing on there even though it was winter and I was wearing a 3mm wetsuit.
