  • 🏫 Pencalenick School Potential Boarding Closure | We’ve asked a parent, a current student and a former student for their opinion on the potential closure of Pencalenick School’s boarding facility in Cornwall, UK.
This video is only a snapshot of the depth of feeling and concern that many people have with the possibility of this facility being lost.
Cornwall Council is responsible for ensuring the funding available for the education of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Cornwall meets the needs identified in their Education Health and Care (EHC) Plans.
Pencalenick offers boarding facilities for children with special education needs and disabilities at their specialist school. This reduces the need for travel, provides respite for parents and guardians, and helps pupils develop invaluable skills for independent living.
The school currently has 28 children who are able to access the facility which is open Monday to Thursday, they may stay for up to four nights a week.
