Figured it out: Brother Earl, from Paul Brown's Foreign XChange album. Took me an Amazon search. I should have just waited to read the credits at the end of the video!
Hated what Paul did to Norman Browns records. We, the Norman Brown fans LOVE Norman's lightening fast, spectacular soulful riffs. Not, that sterile, ajax smooth jazz production is what killed the genre! and, that goes for Rick Braun's production as well.. These guys could never Produce a Marcus Miller Project..
Ok, if you say so. But, take a listen to Norman's projects on the Mojazz label and you'll here the fire!. What Brown and Braun did to the "Smooth Jazz genre, was criminal". It's almost un-listenable. With all the productions using the same licks, lines and drum loops.
I understand and appreciate the debate. I’m happy as *@#& to hear it all and render my own opinion. I give it all an A# aka B flat. Stay cool and sexy. B
