    Followed the clear step by step guide provided in the video and completed the job without issue.
    Brilliant tutorial and was prepared for the fiddly part of connecting feed wire to the fuse box thanks to this.
    The comments from other viewers also ensured I didn't disconnect the wires in front of the fuse box for easier access, which would have seemed a perfectly reasonable thing to do, without knowing the awaiting pain when reconnecting the wires. Thank you.

    Great tutorial. Just finished the installation of my dash camera (front and rear). I encountered a few problems with hiding cables in the head liner as i didn't know how far should I push the cables. Then I couldn't find a right fuse diagram for my car (or I just don't know how to read them).
    Once everything was set up, I couldn't get to power up the unit. I spent like hour changing and replacing fuses. Turns out the micro USB adapter was disconnected xd.
    Anyway I get there at the end.

    I was wondering why my DAB radio started having reception issues, I was also wondering how to keep the cable in the head liner, thanks so much for the tips !

      @Jason: Where did you install the active antenna? Under the car sky or behind the A-pillar trim?

    Hey, how did you remove the plug that is sat right in front of the fuses? It feels like it's clipped on, but I cannot unclipped mine. Thanks.

    You need to find the 'hot' wire on the aux fuse on the fuse box (bottom or top) to identify which way to put the 'piggy back' fuse in or you may bypass the additional fuse rendering it useless. If installed incorrectly, you will power the accessory without the fuse. Current must be supplied to the opposite side of the fuse where the accessory wire exits.

      As long as everyone puts the spur in the same way as the video shows they will be fine.
      It’s easy to over complicate these how to guides and seeing as I get around twenty questions a day that’s the last thing I need.
      Your right but as someone with 32 years in the trade to much info can be to confusing.

    Hi Used your guide to fit a Dash Cam to a Peugeot 208. Unplugged the Green Box in bottom left of fusebox to gain access to the fuse. When I plugged this back in I now get a engine management warning light coming on. Has anyone any ides if this can be easily reset or is it a software issue that will require a workshop to rest the computer chip. Thanks JonJon

      Does sound like you will need to get the error code removed from the ecu now. This can be done at most garages.

    This video is very useful, thank-you! I’m going to wire my dashboard camera into a fuse that’s always on so that I can enable parking mode - can you recommend which fuse/accessory to use for this? I drive a 2015 Peugeot 308 GT. Thanks in advance!

      Anything constant so maybe central locking or ignition key feed.

    • @HowdyPlayerOne
      @HowdyPlayerOne 4 года назад

      PJs projects “Keyless entry & starting system”? That’s a 5A fuse. Would that work without effecting the keyless entry? Or there’s “Locks”, which is a 30A fuse. Which would be best? Thanks for hour help.

      I sub to companies that have a few cars each day that need working on and so never get involved with one off jobs. A lot of the larger retailers have mobile fitting services which should be able to help you.

    I installed a dashcam watching your video. It would start recording when I turned key in ignition but recently it has stopped working. A message came on screen saying low battery and then it switched off. I had thought it was being powered by car. Any ideas?

      I would say a wire has come loose. Maybe the earth wire?

    • @karpetcabin
      @karpetcabin 3 года назад

      @@lewi981 thanks I will look into that. I had a hard job trying to earth it because the the horseshoe connection was too small for the bolt. I got two washers and sandwiched the horseshoe connection between them and taped it up with electricians tape and then bolted it in. It may have worked its way loose going over bumps.

    Is a 5 amp fuse ok for the Dash Cam? Or does it have to be 3 amp?

    • @PJsprojects
      @PJsprojects  5 лет назад +1

      Either a two or three amp is best because the fuse has to be a lower rating than the power cable in order to do it's job if needed.

    • @makaras
      @makaras 5 лет назад

      Thanks - just ordered a kit of 120 fuses (20 x of 5 through to 30) - but nothing lower! Might have one in the glove-box though...

    At 10:40 how do you unclip the fuses?

    • @PJsprojects
      @PJsprojects  5 лет назад

      The fuses just pull out from the fuse box,I use long nose pliers due to them being hard to reach but you do get a little plastic tool with the car to pull them out with. Check your owners manual to see what I mean.

    Peugeot 207 is impossible to do this,I found a good earth point,I pulled loads of fuses where power is off with ignition off,pulled cigarette lighter fuse added the piggyback in both directions and no cigarette lighter,put the fuse back and it works,I've tested the piggyback with a meter and shows no faults

    • @PJsprojects
      @PJsprojects  28 дней назад

      If you have tested the fuse output with a meter and know 100% power is going out to the power cable the. It is one of the following.
      1. bad earth
      2. Faulty power cable(most have a 5v converter in them)
      3. Faulty camera
      4. Inline cable kit fuse blown.
