I watched this movie on tv at the age of 7 during the mid 70s. Scary scary freaky. Forgot the name of it for decades. Bought it on dvd last year. Such a great scifi horror movie. Might just pick it up for blu-ray. Childhood memories = must own physical media.
I also saw it on tv as a kid. I remember really liking it, but could never remember how it ended. After finally seeing it as an adult, I suspect I simply could no longer follow it once it got so abstract in the final act. I've seen people claim much of the legendary cut footage was actually added back in for the tv broadcast. And that's a VERY abstract ending. I loved the "realistic" take on scifi of the late 60s and through the 70s. This, Andromeda Strain, 2001. Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, Incredible Hulk. I was born in 69 and love that none of this was dumbed down for kids.
been spending time with graphic designers in an agency, and most of my friends are graphic designers. and i must say the composition and the layouting are top notch
I remember watching this, ad a kid, when they had a sci fi season of movies on TV. The scene with the ants coming out of the holes in a victim's hand is one of those childhood memories you never forget
There were a couple scenes use really stuck with me for whatever reason, from literally one tv viewing when I was a kid. I remember the ant "relay" and the Queen eating that gunk. Also, I remember when the ants started communicating with the scientists and it was plotted out on that printer.
this one always intrigued me, the cover art. I used to see the box at one local scketchy af video store that had really obscure horror/sci-fi and the greasiest stickiest porn section ever. The whole video store seemed like a biker drug front. Ah the good ol' days. All that to say I've never seen Phase 4 lol. Fantastic Review ! Now I wanna see it ! Love the ant skull art !
Haha. I used to live near one of those. Yes those were the days. Choosing a movie or game rental based off the cover. Good times. Yeah I think you'd enjoy it. Thanks!
@@nightmarecollective Awesome ! Also, I'm glad that you have a paypal. I've never used paypal. A buddy of mine is gonna teach me this weekend. Just sayin'
I think the original poster art and video art badly hurt this movie. The hand sticking up an ant coming out. "The day the earth was turned into a cemetery." Well, that grossly misrepresents the movie. And that's bad... the people that would have liked the serious movie it is would be turned off. Those that wanted a schlocky "attack of the 50 foot woman" movie would be disappointed and say the movie sucked. Even without dodgy art, it was already facing that problem. That is, this wasn't so long since all that schlocky movies were made, so many people would assume "the ants take over" was more of that.
Love this epic 💎

Does this one have the alternate cut ending?
