Just so people know who are traveling Spirit Airlines (you can not do this) if you need to check a bag ,pay for it when you book and check it at the counter, it's 40.00 each way). If you take it to the gate, the last time I checked it was 100.00, it may be more now.
We never check in bags either. We've lost so many luggage too. And transfers can be a nightmare. We can totally travel with you guys! Hahaha You're our kind of people. If by any chance we end up buying too much (which is usually never the case) we'll mail things. These are great backpacks guys. We have a small backpack and a small Ikea suitcase. Great tips guys.
My mom taught me to never check bags. It’s a waste of money if you’re going on a short trip plus half of the time, we don’t even need all of the stuff we bring. I use a backpack.
I also travel with carry on only. I have a 21" Travel Pro that is my favorite and I added a personal item bag this year by Travel Pro. Both purchased on Amazon and I am very happy with them. I travel for 2 weeks each year to Aruba with just a carry on and personal item. Works great - and like you, I hate standing at the baggage carrousel waiting and waiting.
Great video. I have a 22 inch red Victorinox that I bought back in 1998. Still going strong have only had to check it once in all these years. Pricey, but durable and worth it and it still looks gorgeous
At kohl’s right now for $60 there’s the CIAO odyssey smart luggage spinner. It’s 22x14x9. It’s a hardside, the handle is great, rolls really smoothly. Highly recommend for a budget carry on roller.
Thanks for the video! My husband likes his Nomad Lane duffel bag for his travels. It has a trolley sleeve so it will really give you a stress-free life as a traveler.
If you're still looking for a roller bag, LLBean Carryall Rolling Underseat bag. It holds everything and even has a shoe pocket We haven't checked bags for years, I've never been stopped with this bag and a personal item, even internationally. Good luck and good for you, I love hearing of others who would rather travel than deal with the frustration of lost luggage and wasted time at a carousel.
Great video! Please keep in mind that even if you travel with the carry-on if you are in Europe and taking one of their domestic flights, there are carry-on weight restrictions that vary bw 18-22 pounds. They are pretty strict and weigh the bag. If it is over they make you check in the bag. Happened to me on the way back to US from Croatia ( connecting flight) and of course they lost my bag. 🙄
Yes! We are going to be packing for a trip to Europe that will have this challenge. Luckily we are up for the challenge. Will probably make a Livestream about that.
I’ve learned something new today. 7/21/2022 This tip is very awesome when I start traveling again this year I’m definitely going to use this tip and not checking any bags and start using my small weekender bag and backpack 🎒 thank to this amazing travel packing tips thank you both so much for this amazing travel tips Both of you are amazing and stay safe and enjoy your day blessings 😊
My husband and I travel with our three-year-old son, and even on car trips we only pack in one rolling carry-on and one backpack. My husband and my son fit in a rolling carry-on that is the maximum size and then I fit in a 28 l North face with all of our toiletries and some of our electronics. The only time we bring more than that is if we're going on a beach trip and want to take sand toys and things. It is totally doable to avoid checking bags with kids, but I don't know that it's doable to avoid the carry-on bag fee for the budget airlines with that. At least not until your kids big enough to carry his own bag, but I don't know maybe we could split it up into three small bags.
I love my Travelon Underseater! I use it routinely for 2week long trips. I also use a small backpack/handbag. For things I want to use during the flight.
@@origamilady9960 I recently bought the Eddie Bauer backpack that rolls into itself for easy packing. It was a life saver on my last trip. I bought the matching fanny pack to keep essentials near.

Question: I totally get packing light and not checking bags, however, with airlines that charge a seat fee, as a couple do you pay for seats to sit together?
Good question. We don't. Most of the times, if you buy tickets together the airline will do their best to sit you together. Obviously there's not guarantee where that seat will be but at least you'll be together.
@@TheCityandBeyond United airlines. Guessing I got the basic economy through priceline🤷♀️ can I call the airlines to confirm if I can a personal item and carry on?

Question! Do u normally take two of these bags per person? Or do you each just take one? I’m flying this coming weekend and plan to only take carry on bags
9 times out of 10, we take one bag per person. The longer the trip the bigger the bag (within requirements). So if we are going on a trip for, say a week and a half, we'd likely take the big back packs.
Great video! Check out the Monos and Away rolling carry on luggage! They both have 23” ones that are a touch larger then usual carry on but are accepted by major airlines (and fit in the measuring bins) no problem.
Hi im actually watching a flight from Puerto Rico to Newark Airport for just $82 dollars 😱 do you recommend me to flight with them is with Spirit Airlines
That's a really good price. If you can afford to add the big front seats along with it, we'd say definitely. But it really depends on your preferences.
@@TheCityandBeyond Gotcha! do you think it fits with the bottom part as well? I don’t know if I should get the convertible or the regular mini weekender (to use as a personal item)
