It's because he wants to still work with Mihoyo. They don't like it when content creators discuss leaks even though every single one of them do look at leaks
I think that's actually most genshin theorycrafters tbh, even the ones who are contracted. It's just convenient to have the basic idea of the character's kit before they release. Even if the multipliers change during beta

Btw I love this "surprise buffer" characters like Xianyun for Diluc or Furina for Jean... It makes new players to want or be okay with old characters or just give usefulness for old built characters. And gives some unpredictability since you never know who will lift up who.
I think one of the main arguments for all three new characters that somehow never gets addressed is how incredibly fun their kits look. I know there are people who find Neuvilette very fun, but for me he is one of (if not the) most boring DPS in the game. Not only because his gameplay is very, very monotonous but also because his kit is so overpowered. Mualani, on the other hand, looks like so much more fun. Even if she does half as much damage as Neuvilette, I would still pull her. The same applies to Kachina and Kinich. We already have a huge selection of characters for very powerful teams and what stands out most about the latest three Natlan units is the innovative gameplay style.
Completely agree. Though I still find Neuvillette more fun than Ayato, since you actually get to aim and maneuver around the battlefield, unlike Ayato's boring auto-slashes.

I don't get how people find him fun to use, a charged attack and then you watch your enemies dies without doing anything. unlike mualani shes seems to be super fun to use and that's the biggest reason why I'm pulling for her

Maulani looks more fun for exploration but I’m going for Kinich for his design and unique play style which is what I want in Natlan. New fun comps and play styles over meta.
The more info we get the more I think that Mavuika’s thing will be a LOT of off field Pyro application in order to facilitate proper Cryo and Hydro driven melt/vape teams. I would really like to see Cryo/Shenhe/Mavuika/Kazuha be a thing where the Cryo dps and Shenhe can melt all their hits.

That won't happen, he gains nightsoul points when opponents are burning or burgeon is triggered and he wants to constantly gain those to be at max so he can fire his cannon which is the biggest portion of the damage, if you don't play him on teams where burning or burgeon is triggered aka dendro+electro teams he's just going to be a straight up worse alhaitham or tighnari
@@itz_amino5854 his best support is furina right now, just build bennett and xiangling and you have his best team. you just need to trigger burning reaction consistently, the enemy doesn't always have to have burning on it
honestly both kinich and mualani seem to be another set of dps character that can benefit from dehya support,in both cases burning is a boon.Aswell that i been told neither has 100% interupt res,but they do have high values so there is potential that sacrifical greatsword dehya might work given that the circle still has some interupt res value,if both combined is enough to get the 100% that be really nice in combo with a burning setup with emilie or so.

Well in genshin it is pronounced Kin-eech. However, the original Mayan name Kinich Ahau is pronounced [kʼiː.nitʃ a'haw], where both i's are pronounced as ee, however the first one is elongated (i.e. pronounced like s *ee* rather than cit *y* ) and the second isn't. @@LumpySpaceNinja
I also don’t understand why a lot of CCs pronounce Nahida has GNAW-hee-duh when all the VAs have said Nuh-HEE-duh. I even think the Japanese is ナヒーダ which means the second syllable is double the length (na-hii-da).
Worth a mention that their exploration value looks insane which kinda makes me want to get both. Got Neuvi Kokomi for on field hydro dps (Nilou technically Dendro dps, which might not line up with IT cycles) so one more will be a nice balancer vs. the insane amount of pyro / electro dps I have. But I also don't have Haitham, so technically only Nilou and Tighnari, who even if good tbh I find he struggles hard way too often - don't really understand how people value him as high as they do. Doing every Abyss rotation with almost all my teams he is very often not great. Without R1, of course. So yeah with exploration + element coverage I'm kinda praying to get Kachina early then I'd try my luck on Kinich. Otherwise oh well I'll guess I'll wait for a Dendro dps waifu instead. It'll happen one day, as it now does with Anemo (probably). For Kachina, too bad she doesn't heal, what a missed opportunity. Love the Navia Furina Chiori healer team, but replacing Chiori is lame, Furina is massive for Geo, and well if she doesn't heal that's it. Not a fan of playing a completely different Navia team. Maybe with Noelle instead since she heals.
As a geo user, kachina seems to be incredibly valuable. If you don't use geo, future characters will probably fill the same role and with different elements sooner rather than later. But the new support artifact is really strong to pass on her completely.
"powercreep isn't a problem" well if the powercreep continues, older character will just be useless in abyss, cuz they will constantly make the endgame content harder, so yeah, it is a problem
Hoyo really loves to make characters that either buff older units or give them a new playstyle (not all the time). For example, xianyun for xiao and diluc, furina for majority of healers, chevruse for overloaded teams, etc. Not to mention new artifacts that synergize well with older characters.Compared to star rail I think genshin is fine when it comes to powercreep, mainly because of the elemental reactions aiding us in dealing damage.

Genshin handles powercreep really well. When a new playstyle or new archetype is made, older characters get a raise alongside the rise of newer characters. Although there is Baizhu and Xianyun as greatest healers for Furina, Jean still sees much use, and so do driving healers like Noelle and Kokomi. Same applies with new overloaded teams. Overloaded made Raiden better, and also Yae to an extent through Lyney teams where her rate of electro application still leaves pyro aura for Lyney, and we see the rise of Xiao once more through FFXX. It also gave new life to Diluc who is one of the best for plunge and also gave a stronger alternative to C1 Hu Tao so Hu Tao does jump plunge cancel instead. Overloaded also gave new life to Yoimiya, who no longer needed to worry about ruined ICD through dodging and gets IR from Beidou in Fischl + Beidou overload team. Albedo got new life with Navia until Chiori came along and took his position from him. Klee got new life of being a forward vape driver for Furina in the Kleerina teams, and it does better than Klee mono pyro. Ningguang also got better with Navia's appearance since Navia occupies downtime, gives crystallize and also geo dmg bonus through the curtain. Noelle got big buff through Furina and also Chiori (especially C1) as teammate. Itto got more reliable team with Chiori as his teammate. Thoma also found life primarily within a pure shielder role for Wriothesley, Arlecchino (mono pyro or overload) and Clorinde. Even in Emilie burning teams, his value has increased. Dori saw a resurgence, primarily with her C6 as she becomes a pretty strong quickbloom dps in her Furina quickbloom team which is Dori, Nahida, Furina, and Fischl/Kazuha. Candace saw new life, primarily with her C6, in Arlecchino teams since she applies better AoE hydro than Yelan and Xingqiu and she fits Arlecchino's quickswap friendly playstyle. Candace will likely be a very good teammate for Mualani whose shark bites are considered NA damage and doesn't want interferenc of other character hydro application so Candace enabling hydro resonance and a 15 to estimate 30% NA dmg bonus is a big upside of Candace for Mualani. Dehya also a large boon to her value as more Fontaine characters want her pyro application or her interruption resistance buff they don't contain in base kit. You see it with Lyney, with Wriothesley, with Neuvillette, with Chevreuse teams, in Arlecchino or Clorinde teams, in plunge teams, and also Emilie teams.
I built Thoma in anticipation of Kinich. Kinich seems to work with Burning/Burgeon and his damage looks relatively single target, so I wanted to supplement that with Thoma's AoE potential - likely a Kinich/Thoma/Xinqiu/Baizu setup. I've been playing with that comp now with Nahida in Kinich's place until he comes out and it's been really solid, so I hope Kinich provides the kind of damage I'm looking for lol
Other than the archon, I'm not planning to pull any of these Natlan characters - there's no point - I don't have the resources to build the characters that I already have. Getting a free 5* is really nice... but 20 million mora and 20 resin would have been a lot more useful. I don't have Jean yet, but I might just pick-up a Tighnari constellation because, again, I don't have the resources to build Jean.
I don't have chiori for my navia bc I have a half built albedo from way back in the day so I think kachina is a must build for me. otherwise my instinct is to go for mualani. They both look fun but its going to depend on fun factor. I've doubted many characters before and I've almost always been wrong on how they feel to use.
We have had as much power creep in Genshin that I would expect an average gatcha game to have after 1 year. Power creep has been kept low and even older characters have gotten better over time due to indirect buffs to keep them relevant. I expect the pyro archon to power creep again but much like Furina a kind of power creep that helps many characters in the process. I want to ensure I save enough primos for pyro archon for sure.
can i make a good kinich burning team without emilie? i have a guaranteed and im only a few pulls away from pity, so i dont know if i can afford to get kinich and emilie guaranteed.
I think so! I was planning on Kinich, Kirara, Bennett, and either Furina or Xiangling. You don't need Emelie for his teams. It's nice but not a must have.
About Powercreep: For me, it is a serious problem because I want to keep on my account every characters useful so I have to pull and not pull with this idea in mind. One again, no every characters don't get any news supports or sometimes yes but only sidegrade so they are not stronger than before. Not everyone is a favorite like Xiao or Hu Tao and who cares about Candace who is a 4 stars anyway ? At the end of the day, powercreep is useless too. They can make abyss with more HP and it will not make the game more fun. Anyway all news dps are top tiers now, well at the end they are just mid because everyone is top tiers and that's fine if everyone is good I guess.
Agreed, it is a big problem. Speaking of older units, I tried using Yoimiya overload with chevreuse in the current abyss. Did I managed to get 36 stars? Yes. But that s*it was hard. Like REALLY REALLY hard and I DID NOT have a great time. I have a cracked Yoimiya team too and I heard a lot of people say that this abyss cycle was not that hard. They were using OP units like arclechino and Nuevellette ofc. Some units have already became useless.This means there is less characters to play which is kinda bad for a character collection game imo.
@@purp1e200I think the issue here is not only powercreep, you just don't have a geo characters on your team. For me, this abyss was easy because I used Navia and Zhongli for the second half. The shield is just destroy so fast with double geo. Abyss right now feel more like: "do you have this characters or not ?". But yeah for Yoimiya, she struggles now I have her too with her signature bow...

Rather than replacing Chiori, i hope Kachina Chiori tandem are similar to Xq and Yelan situation. On paper they compete each other but amazing as tandem. Though I'm not sure who will be the main DPS in Kachina Chiori team.
I was able to get Navia recently (love her playstyle to death) and I've been wanting a good geo char since I don't have Chiori and while Noelle is fine, I'd rather have someone else (I have Gorou, but no plans to build him). It's nice we're getting a free Kachina because when I learned she was free, I was like, "Hopefully she'll mesh well with Navia."
My thoughts: i really want them to add the level 100 feature, but l only older characters should have access to that. By older, I mean before Nahida (not including Nahida). I also think it would be cool to see the characters' age change a little, for example, bennet, fishl, klee, etc. We have been through 3... maybe 4 lantern rites now. These people should be older! Maybe this level 100 feature could also come with a character model update. Imagine bennet growing up to be one of those super tall blacksmith models in the game!
Dehya and Xinyan might be better pyro applicators for Mualani, even KQM sheets use them instead of XL. XL sure is better dmg-wise, but the fact that she is so ER-hungry yet you can't use Benny as her battery is a con. Besides, Mualani's elem proc is so slow you don't need all those fast applications of XL.

I'm here with my thoughts; 2.0/2.1 Yoimiya, Ayaka 3.0 /3.1 Tighnari, Cyno/Nilou 4.0/4.1 Lyney, Neuvillete/Wrio Most of these characters kind of have or are replacements for someone else. Nilou reign's supreme in her niche. Ofc, Neuvillete is the sole exception on that list, imo! But he doesn't even have a Vison, so it was kind of obvious and indicates why he stands out lore wise. So, unless the travel convivence changes the game, prob gonna skip for the buffer and archon constellations. And ofc, nothing wrong if your pulling for collections or design aesthetics solely, everyone likes different things. EDIT Note: Raiden Shogun on Kinich banner may indicate Chevueuse rerun, that alone will get me to pull. Those Chev constellations will add a lot to electro/pyro comps.
7:05 I fear Mualani might be not that strong because they suddenly wnated to "fix" the rotation speed "issue" on Neui while until now it did not seem to be registered as a bug. Why was it so important before 5.0 to clock him down? Maybe because then their next hydro looks too much of a nah-meh with Mr Watercanon.... Hope not, but the timing was super sus... I mean for sure they want to make stronger better characters, but maybe something in the design didn't turn out as they planned and since anniversary comes up, they want to have good characters who stand out.
Why does everything have to be this big masterplan by greedy company? They had announced that they were fixing the rotation bug long before they actually fixed it in a version notice. And you really think they would nerf neuvillette and risk the backlash (+ lawsuits) instead of just making mualani better/have a niche? I just don't see it. I think this is another skip for me, and I've just realized I've skipped every .0 version 5* characters on release and I've been playing since 1.0. I got Yoimiya and Venti on reruns but that's it, Tighnari I got him from standard. Kinich looks really cool tho maybe he will change it once I try him on test run. Mualani is pretty but i got every hydro character in game beside sigewinne
Powercreep in this game is meaningless, since there isn't any content that you can't clear with the older units. This is the good and bad thing about them not increasing abyss difficulty. It's less exciting since they aren't hard, but you can clear with characters you like that are weaker or powercrept by the shiny new dps. I'm always on the fence about this, but it's fine how it is. I play other games for difficulty, and I just build Genshin characters for fun. Did a 500k Navia E the other day, and that felt fun even if it was pointless.

@@glitchvariable5336 albedo just doesn't add enough to the team thats all. His geo damage is good but easily outclassed by better sub dpses or buffers. And having to replace his construct loses dmg in a rotation as well.
Not on topic, but are you sure it's the best to say Zhao? It's more of a Ks-yao thing, or even just SS at the start. Chinese players say it that way, and the English dub here is failing us

That won't happen, he gains nightsoul points when opponents are burning or burgeon is triggered and he wants to constantly gain those to be at max so he can fire his cannon which is the biggest portion of the damage, if you don't play him on teams where burning or burgeon is triggered aka dendro+electro teams he's just going to be a straight up worse alhaitham or tighnari

honestly both kinich and mualani seem to be another set of dps character that can benefit from dehya support,in both cases burning is a boon.Aswell that i been told neither has 100% interupt res,but they do have high values so there is potential that sacrifical greatsword dehya might work given that the circle still has some interupt res value,if both combined is enough to get the 100% that be really nice in combo with a burning setup with emilie or so.
The ch in Kinich’s name is not pronounced like a k but more like ch in the word chance

Well in genshin it is pronounced Kin-eech. However, the original Mayan name Kinich Ahau is pronounced [kʼiː.nitʃ a'haw], where both i's are pronounced as ee, however the first one is elongated (i.e. pronounced like s *ee* rather than cit *y* ) and the second isn't. @@LumpySpaceNinja

I also don’t understand why a lot of CCs pronounce Nahida has GNAW-hee-duh when all the VAs have said Nuh-HEE-duh. I even think the Japanese is ナヒーダ which means the second syllable is double the length (na-hii-da).
Worth a mention that their exploration value looks insane which kinda makes me want to get both.
Got Neuvi Kokomi for on field hydro dps (Nilou technically Dendro dps, which might not line up with IT cycles) so one more will be a nice balancer vs. the insane amount of pyro / electro dps I have.
But I also don't have Haitham, so technically only Nilou and Tighnari, who even if good tbh I find he struggles hard way too often - don't really understand how people value him as high as they do. Doing every Abyss rotation with almost all my teams he is very often not great. Without R1, of course.
So yeah with exploration + element coverage I'm kinda praying to get Kachina early then I'd try my luck on Kinich.
Otherwise oh well I'll guess I'll wait for a Dendro dps waifu instead. It'll happen one day, as it now does with Anemo (probably).
For Kachina, too bad she doesn't heal, what a missed opportunity. Love the Navia Furina Chiori healer team, but replacing Chiori is lame, Furina is massive for Geo, and well if she doesn't heal that's it. Not a fan of playing a completely different Navia team. Maybe with Noelle instead since she heals.
I just realized mualani can do the sayu tech where you spin counter direction to xinagling burst to get extra pyronado procs.
As a geo user, kachina seems to be incredibly valuable. If you don't use geo, future characters will probably fill the same role and with different elements sooner rather than later. But the new support artifact is really strong to pass on her completely.

Hoyo really loves to make characters that either buff older units or give them a new playstyle (not all the time). For example, xianyun for xiao and diluc, furina for majority of healers, chevruse for overloaded teams, etc. Not to mention new artifacts that synergize well with older characters.Compared to star rail I think genshin is fine when it comes to powercreep, mainly because of the elemental reactions aiding us in dealing damage.

Genshin handles powercreep really well.
When a new playstyle or new archetype is made, older characters get a raise alongside the rise of newer characters. Although there is Baizhu and Xianyun as greatest healers for Furina, Jean still sees much use, and so do driving healers like Noelle and Kokomi.
Same applies with new overloaded teams. Overloaded made Raiden better, and also Yae to an extent through Lyney teams where her rate of electro application still leaves pyro aura for Lyney, and we see the rise of Xiao once more through FFXX. It also gave new life to Diluc who is one of the best for plunge and also gave a stronger alternative to C1 Hu Tao so Hu Tao does jump plunge cancel instead.
Overloaded also gave new life to Yoimiya, who no longer needed to worry about ruined ICD through dodging and gets IR from Beidou in Fischl + Beidou overload team. Albedo got new life with Navia until Chiori came along and took his position from him. Klee got new life of being a forward vape driver for Furina in the Kleerina teams, and it does better than Klee mono pyro. Ningguang also got better with Navia's appearance since Navia occupies downtime, gives crystallize and also geo dmg bonus through the curtain. Noelle got big buff through Furina and also Chiori (especially C1) as teammate. Itto got more reliable team with Chiori as his teammate. Thoma also found life primarily within a pure shielder role for Wriothesley, Arlecchino (mono pyro or overload) and Clorinde. Even in Emilie burning teams, his value has increased.
Dori saw a resurgence, primarily with her C6 as she becomes a pretty strong quickbloom dps in her Furina quickbloom team which is Dori, Nahida, Furina, and Fischl/Kazuha.
Candace saw new life, primarily with her C6, in Arlecchino teams since she applies better AoE hydro than Yelan and Xingqiu and she fits Arlecchino's quickswap friendly playstyle. Candace will likely be a very good teammate for Mualani whose shark bites are considered NA damage and doesn't want interferenc of other character hydro application so Candace enabling hydro resonance and a 15 to estimate 30% NA dmg bonus is a big upside of Candace for Mualani.
Dehya also a large boon to her value as more Fontaine characters want her pyro application or her interruption resistance buff they don't contain in base kit. You see it with Lyney, with Wriothesley, with Neuvillette, with Chevreuse teams, in Arlecchino or Clorinde teams, in plunge teams, and also Emilie teams.
In genshin its not nerly as big problem as in hsr

I built Thoma in anticipation of Kinich. Kinich seems to work with Burning/Burgeon and his damage looks relatively single target, so I wanted to supplement that with Thoma's AoE potential - likely a Kinich/Thoma/Xinqiu/Baizu setup. I've been playing with that comp now with Nahida in Kinich's place until he comes out and it's been really solid, so I hope Kinich provides the kind of damage I'm looking for lol

When I saw Kachina for the first time during the 4.8 livestream I remember telling a friend “I need the yellow breakdancing child”.
Other than the archon, I'm not planning to pull any of these Natlan characters - there's no point - I don't have the resources to build the characters that I already have.
Getting a free 5* is really nice... but 20 million mora and 20 resin would have been a lot more useful. I don't have Jean yet, but I might just pick-up a Tighnari constellation because, again, I don't have the resources to build Jean.
I don't have chiori for my navia bc I have a half built albedo from way back in the day so I think kachina is a must build for me. otherwise my instinct is to go for mualani. They both look fun but its going to depend on fun factor. I've doubted many characters before and I've almost always been wrong on how they feel to use.
We have had as much power creep in Genshin that I would expect an average gatcha game to have after 1 year. Power creep has been kept low and even older characters have gotten better over time due to indirect buffs to keep them relevant. I expect the pyro archon to power creep again but much like Furina a kind of power creep that helps many characters in the process. I want to ensure I save enough primos for pyro archon for sure.

I think so! I was planning on Kinich, Kirara, Bennett, and either Furina or Xiangling.
You don't need Emelie for his teams. It's nice but not a must have.
About Powercreep:
For me, it is a serious problem because I want to keep on my account every characters useful so I have to pull and not pull with this idea in mind.
One again, no every characters don't get any news supports or sometimes yes but only sidegrade so they are not stronger than before.
Not everyone is a favorite like Xiao or Hu Tao and who cares about Candace who is a 4 stars anyway ?
At the end of the day, powercreep is useless too. They can make abyss with more HP and it will not make the game more fun.

Speaking of older units, I tried using Yoimiya overload with chevreuse in the current abyss. Did I managed to get 36 stars? Yes. But that s*it was hard. Like REALLY REALLY hard and I DID NOT have a great time. I have a cracked Yoimiya team too and I heard a lot of people say that this abyss cycle was not that hard. They were using OP units like arclechino and Nuevellette ofc.
Some units have already became useless.This means there is less characters to play which is kinda bad for a character collection game imo.

For me, this abyss was easy because I used Navia and Zhongli for the second half. The shield is just destroy so fast with double geo.
Abyss right now feel more like: "do you have this characters or not ?".
But yeah for Yoimiya, she struggles now I have her too with her signature bow...

Rather than replacing Chiori, i hope Kachina Chiori tandem are similar to Xq and Yelan situation. On paper they compete each other but amazing as tandem.
Though I'm not sure who will be the main DPS in Kachina Chiori team.
I was able to get Navia recently (love her playstyle to death) and I've been wanting a good geo char since I don't have Chiori and while Noelle is fine, I'd rather have someone else (I have Gorou, but no plans to build him). It's nice we're getting a free Kachina because when I learned she was free, I was like, "Hopefully she'll mesh well with Navia."

My thoughts: i really want them to add the level 100 feature, but l only older characters should have access to that. By older, I mean before Nahida (not including Nahida).
I also think it would be cool to see the characters' age change a little, for example, bennet, fishl, klee, etc. We have been through 3... maybe 4 lantern rites now. These people should be older! Maybe this level 100 feature could also come with a character model update. Imagine bennet growing up to be one of those super tall blacksmith models in the game!

Dehya and Xinyan might be better pyro applicators for Mualani, even KQM sheets use them instead of XL. XL sure is better dmg-wise, but the fact that she is so ER-hungry yet you can't use Benny as her battery is a con. Besides, Mualani's elem proc is so slow you don't need all those fast applications of XL.

Most of these characters kind of have or are replacements for someone else. Nilou reign's supreme in her niche. Ofc, Neuvillete is the sole exception on that list, imo! But he doesn't even have a Vison, so it was kind of obvious and indicates why he stands out lore wise. So, unless the travel convivence changes the game, prob gonna skip for the buffer and archon constellations. And ofc, nothing wrong if your pulling for collections or design aesthetics solely, everyone likes different things.
EDIT Note: Raiden Shogun on Kinich banner may indicate Chevueuse rerun, that alone will get me to pull. Those Chev constellations will add a lot to electro/pyro comps.

I mean for sure they want to make stronger better characters, but maybe something in the design didn't turn out as they planned and since anniversary comes up, they want to have good characters who stand out.
Why does everything have to be this big masterplan by greedy company? They had announced that they were fixing the rotation bug long before they actually fixed it in a version notice. And you really think they would nerf neuvillette and risk the backlash (+ lawsuits) instead of just making mualani better/have a niche? I just don't see it. It's not difficult to adjust a few numbers.

I think this is another skip for me, and I've just realized I've skipped every .0 version 5* characters on release and I've been playing since 1.0. I got Yoimiya and Venti on reruns but that's it, Tighnari I got him from standard. Kinich looks really cool tho maybe he will change it once I try him on test run. Mualani is pretty but i got every hydro character in game beside sigewinne

Powercreep in this game is meaningless, since there isn't any content that you can't clear with the older units. This is the good and bad thing about them not increasing abyss difficulty. It's less exciting since they aren't hard, but you can clear with characters you like that are weaker or powercrept by the shiny new dps. I'm always on the fence about this, but it's fine how it is. I play other games for difficulty, and I just build Genshin characters for fun. Did a 500k Navia E the other day, and that felt fun even if it was pointless.
