When Olivia Soli started singing "Hello" I was stunned, then I got chills then I broke into tears, she took a classic made it her own and touched my soul with it. She is an amazing singer and will be a success at it, Lionel Ritchie speaks the truth about what someone should do with a song, make it their own and she did exactly that. I have seen several performers from these shows do that and they impress the judges by doing it.
I went and googled what happened to him after seeing him here. I've spent the last two hours pouring over his other auditions and albums. Heard his song on the radio before but had no idea about the artist behind them. Dude is something special.

These three judges on American Idol always impressed me as being the most supportingly critical of each and every contestant. They are always there to offer encouragement and advice to the contestants. And they do it with passion and humour. They are the greatest.
I have to say, I love it when contestants cover the judges songs. It can be bold and brave, but, when they pull it off, it's a magnificent achievement. I especially love it when the contestants make it different, interesting and their own. Those covers of Don't cha and Rule the world were amazing, but, James Arthur is in a different league.

We just watched a fun, lovely jam with Robbie. I loved the acoustic, street style outside a coffee shop version of that song. He's the chillest singer full of happiness. What a great singer.
Do you know Lionel you are such a great person the way you helped that nervous young man get through the audition. You turned a terrible bags of nerves into a good singer by the end. Just think what he could become with confidence and some coaching.😊
@lisamuller3307 I’m not sure what you were listening to but her range is otherworldly. If she can do that as effortlessly as it looked she can most likely sing anything else in lower tonal ranges without even trying. She can “sang”. Leave a link to your performances so we can see what you can do.

I lost my husband in late 2011 and needing to find a new artist to heal me I started watching America, Australia and Britans got Talent. Ill never forget that feeling, as I watchied his audition wth tears rolling down my cheeks, of knowing I finally found that artist! I cheered him on through to the win and have never looked back. James Arthur's music healed me then and a few more times, through loss, over the years since then and ranking 2nd only to bringing my daughter into the world, getting the opportunity in 2017 to fly from America to Britan and finally see him live, was the best moment of my life! Watching his audition still brings tears to my eyes, only now, its tears of pride because the boy who came Back From The Edge" and who would reach for the stars, became the man who, rightfully so, successfullty possess them!🎉 Long Live the King!

Yeah that was a bit annoying, as a spectator I always preferred watching BGT or AGT for the live audience performances. It's fun to get feedback from the crowd and not only judges commenting.

I rarely like hearing women sing. I vastly prefer male voices. I liked her style of singing. Not breathy, not bedroomy, not sugary. Powerful and raw.
