- Lower the heat slightly when adding extra butter, minced garlic and parsley. Mix for 1-2 mins then remove from the heat
- Make sure the heat is on low when making the cheese sauce. Stir till creamy and the cheese is stringy then turn off the heat and add the macaroni

For those who don't like lean meat because it's too tough, even cooked rare enough: mix in a couple tbsp of baking soda before the spices, let sit 15-45 min depending on how tender you want it, wash it off, dry it off with paper towels, then spice it..

If you want to share it with him because he needs to eat less calories: Don't.
This youtuber is a known "calorie scammer", it's actually about 1000 kcal.
@@kjeldschouten-lebbing6260 I cooked it, weighed everything out, and divided it evenly. Came out to 590 calories per meal for each. People are just stupid and don't know how to listen. LIGHT cream cheese, LIGHT butter, LIGHT cheese. these all dramatically reduce the calories. You also have to use a lean cut of steak like he does in this video.

The thing I love about this guy as well is he provides the recipe in a smaller serving. I've always found it easier to double a recipe than halve it. And on a bulk this doubled would be an amazing meal.
As a single person, I appreciate the smaller yield recipes as well. I grew up cooking for a family of 6 so I have trouble cooking less food and end up with too much leftover.
I just made this. It is bangin'! Good call! Thank you. I'll be making more of your dishes.
Dude I been eating you’re food for an week now and I can confidently confirm, it’s taste goddamn delicious and it helps a lot with my training progress, I just wanted to say Thank You man!

Just made it hands down the best Mac n cheese I’ve ever had.
It's cooking like this that just makes me cry tears of joy 😭. This looks so freaking GOOD OMG 😳❤️👀
This does look so good I’m starving
if anyone thinks this is 550 calories is delusional. The fats that are being used to cook this are more than 500 alone.
That’s what I was thinking too
You gotta portion it out properly.
i was gon say man or else those tupperwares are tiny
Considering he doesn't use any actual dairy products and only uses light alternatives I imagine that saves a bit but yea the portion sizes shown seem deceptive. Either they're shot in a way to make them seem bigger or he's saying you could have a portion of them at 550 but then shows an unrelated full box to make it seem appetising and filling but try and put some separation between his claim and the display
@@TonyVawnz You can say this about literally any food
I now have an intense craving. Thanks bro👍🏻
Actually the first food video on YT I might consider trying
By my count each serving is approximately 910kcal with 78 grams of protein.
And that sir is like half of my daily intake 😂😂😂 I’m on a cal deficit and that’s would kill it haja
Agreed. There's about 200g of meat + loads of cheese in each serving. No way it's all of that is adding up to just 550 calories
@parlor3115 my thoughts exactly
Did you account for him saying light butter, light cheese, and skim milk meaning use the non fat options that have significantly less calories?!! Honestly you need to pay attention.

Clear, Succint, Informative - you’ll go far g
that's more than a 500 kcal 4 sure
It's all fake processed bullshit dairy. No calories, because it isn't food
I was thinking the same
he uses a little over 1 cup of milk for the whole recipe. Even using whole (3%) milk that's still only 150 calories for a cup, with 0% milk that's 90 calories. 300 calories for the cream cheese (going on philadelphia light cream cheese), let's say 90 calories for both servings of cheese, 742 calories for 200g dry macaroni.
So 1,313 calories for all the macaroni (spices having negligible calories)
So 1,313 split into 4 servings makes 328 calories each for the mac akd cheese.
According to the USDA a beef shoulder steak completely trimmed of fat is 137 calories for 100g, or 1,096 for the 800g shown (now we don't know the exact cut of meat granted but it's very lean whatever it is and most if not all fat has been trimmed), 1tbsp of light butter has 52 calories... we don't know the exact amount of olive oil used so let's say 2tbsp, that should be more than enough to provide a decent coating so that's 238 calories, spices are again negligible. That's 1,386 calories for the beef all said and done.
Add to the Mac and cheese split into 4 servings gives 674 calories. So above what's advertised... but if you can find lower calorie pasta (I'm going based on standard wheat noodles) then 550 per serving should be attainable.
@@JM64 You forgot that while he says "split into 4 servings" he only splits it into 3 servings in the video, so each serving he actually showed was closer to 900 calories.
@@Notius he was going to eat the 4th serving right away. So he would only need to store 3 servings

As a man born in Massachusetts and raised in Mississippi this looks really good.
The macaroni alone is 350kcal without the cheese this cap
Actually the serving size for all pasta is 200 for 2 Oz so for one serving without the cheese it should be 200
All that cheese and butter added makes this straight 🧢
Yeah there’s way more fat in the Mac and cheese too
He uses non fat milk and reduced fat cheese
@@adro3869 yeah which is gonna taste gross tbh. Sorry, the missing serving is my fault off camera 😂😂😂 looks delicious, I have a bunch of these videos saved for later
So for info, I've dialed all this in cronometer and I end up with 545kcals/12g F BUT
- I didn't add the seasoning, garlic and parsley
- I used 1tbsp olive oil and 2 tbsp light butter
- To get that low I didn't use light cream cheese and milk but fat free ones
- The leanest cuts of beef I have here (BE) don't have a single dot of visible fat on them and the label shows 100kcals/100g(23P and 0.8F), however it's tough af, especially when reheated in the microwave
Interesting, I know lean cuts are more successfully cut thinly across the grain so maybe that'll help?
Light cream chews and skim milk mean nonfat

@@acestation6074It's a quote from a movie. The Princess Bride.
What cut of steak do you typically use for this?
could be wrong but that looks like london broil
It's lean as heck That's for sure! A cut of beef like that I'd have to tenderize it first in a marinade
It’s either eye round, or a top round London broil. Super TOUGH steaks but they’re loaded with more protein, beef flavor and hardly any fat. Great for roasts and slow cooking but not steak like how the guy is cooking in the video.
@@imbaddienev what is your favorite way of tenderizing a lean cut like that?
@@GoMathewVideo I used to use a pineapple juice rub a lot and occasionally still do because it breaks down the tough fibers for a more tender steak, but I found using some citric acid powders or even a really good mustard rub works better because you don’t have to completely soak the meat like how you do with most marinades or tenderizers. Mustard and a lot of acid powders won’t overtake the flavor of the meat once seasoned.
The most natural way is simply seasoning your meat with salt and leaving it in the fridge overnight to brine. Brining is a great way to tenderize meat without doing anything crazy or making a bad mess.
Look delicious
Damn that looks good!
I don’t understand how people are afraid of calories and fat. Thats the good shit!
Cause some people want to lose weight and to do that you need less calories. And some people want high protein because that builds muscle and building muscle and losing weight makes you lean which is ideal for most people.
Brother, this looks cracked ain’t no way it’s only 500 calories. Can you please tell me how you calculate calories I want to make sure 😮😮
I think if you put it into different servings you do get 550
It's 550 calories if you limit yourself to 3 or 4 bites then throw the rest out.
This stuff looks so good 🙌🏽👏
This made me soooo hungry!!!! It is 3 am right now! Thank you for this idea!!
No way one serving has 550 calories. No way there is 14 g of fat only.
More like 1k calories 😂
4 even servings in 3 containers?
@@ZanderKaneUK he plates one up off camera, when you meal prep you generally make yourself a meal to eat.
There is no fat in mac and cheese and the cheese, milk, and cream cheese are all split across the 3 meals so their serving size is less and they are already low fat. Skim mozzarella has 5-6g of fat, low fat milk is 1% which has 2.5, I think low fat cream cheese is around 3-4g so if you add that together. On the high end thats 12.5g then split across 3 meals is 4.150 ish g of fat
I forgot the butter, never used low fat butter so idk the macros but he also said in a different comment he uses the leanest cuts of beef possible so it’s adding up
That's about 500 calories in macaroni alone. Aint no way the whole thing 550. Im sure its delicious though. 😂

Is it really 550 kcal per serving? Because I'm having my doubts, especially since you've lied about the calorie count before.
5500
Where? Do the calorie breakdown yourself and count it, the ingredients are in the description. Do it accurately and divide it into 4 servings as mentioned and let everyone else know if you're doubtful
It’s all about portions which is why he portions most of the food in the beginning of the video. But I get what you’re saying I usually watch my calories, trans fat, saturated fat, and carbs and if you get ingredients that have low numbers in all categories you’ll be fine. But portions and meal prep helps a lot if you dont feel like cooking everyday.
Bro how do you measure the amount of calories ? 🤔
Unless the portion is the size of your fist for the whole thing this is easily 1000 caliries
He just makes it up - that dish could be 1k as shown
gonna have to save this for later and try this. Looks so good
This looks so good
550 lol no way
For those genuinely curious about the calories I did the math so you don't have to! A bit long winded but worth the read:
he uses a little over 1 cup of milk for the whole recipe.
Regardless it still comes out to ~10 calories/g protein which is fairly standard. Split each of those servings into 3 parts and you got a decent meal for cutting... but I'd try to incorporate more veggies.
