    I started using your pitching methods last year and saw an improvement that progressed the more I played. I have just revisited your lessons prior to playing this year. Weather and courses have been quite bad recently for any serious golf. Many thanks.

      Old video and comment I know, but I just wanted to add you're 100% correct. A few years ago I didn't touch my irons, woods, or driver for 4 months. Just practiced short game only. Went out and shot a 74. My lowest round ever and only time I've broke 80.

Prior to this I would go primarily by feel which results in good days and horrific days. Hopefully this approach will allow me to become more standardized in my approaches inside of 100 yards. Thank you so much for putting this excellent trilogy together and sharing it with your viewers, brilliant!

    I am going to work on this alot more on top of working/fixing my swing. Whenever I get new wedges, will go back to four total wedges because I hardly use my 5 wood anymore and my 3 wood is almost like a 4 wood (16 degree). Works great. Awesome, awesome work. I also like how your pitch swing really gets the hands out of it, ala stricker and Zach J. who are phenomenal with their wedge play

    Great series of videos Rick! I took this to the course over the weekend. I didn't have a chance to practice these techniques before my round, but I did use them on a few shots throughout the day. I struck the ball well when I had short pitches, but my distance control was off. The balls were hit crisply and felt great coming off the club face. Once I get dialed in on the distance, my short game will improve dramatically!! Thanks for the videos!!

    Wouldn't it be easier to just change clubs to achieve the launch angle you need, and adjust swing length accordingly? Obviously less loft means more release on the green, but it seems that's a simpler way for hackers to memorize their carry distances.

    Question - Why not skip out on the 3rd technique of increasing speed and loft. Seems disaster prone (unless you're really good). The 1st technique (medium height) tends to stop on the green right where it carries anyways. I'd think if you want a more vertical shot, you could just use a loftier wedge but do that same swing? --Thanks!

    • @kevincass5410
      @kevincass5410 6 лет назад +2

      I don't get it either. Even as a pro, aren't you introducing a higher probability for error implementing more changes to a shot? Simply using distance control, (perfect pitch part 2) take out your 58 or 60, or 50 or pitch, and strike it normally at 11/1 10/2 etc. and you should have the required loft and distance. Is it all about the landing zone? I think i'm missing something.

    • @damiensmith8351
      @damiensmith8351 6 лет назад +1

      @@kevincass5410 he said at the start of this video, he said some players have a club they feel more comfortable hitting. Which is why some would rather use the same club and adjust setup. Not for everyone it's just something to try.

    • @kevincass5410
      @kevincass5410 6 лет назад

      @@damiensmith8351 ok, so of someone has an affinity towards a club they are more comfortable changing their swing. Never thought of that. Thanks.

    • @roblegendre
      @roblegendre 6 лет назад

      Yeah, the second video shows how to vary your distance based on the length of your swing, not it's speed. Now you're swinging faster and that changes all the distance control. Then, setting up a different dynamic loft that you have to maintain through impact---seems way to complicated. It will lose it's favor as your favorite wedge with so many variables.

    Hey Rick, I am approximately a bogey golfer, and just got myself a set of used Wilson Staff Ci9 Irons. After just a day of hitting them, I am having a hard time getting consistant contact compared to my old set. Do you think I will grow into these quickly with practice and a lesson or two, or feel that I should trade-down to a more forgiving iron set if they really arent hitting well.
