Man. I would sit with my aunt on her porch and we would listen to James brown, Marvin, zapp and Roger, this was her favorite music. She passed in may this year and I stopped listening to funk and rhythm and blues. Until today. God damn, you boys are so funky, I know my aunt can feel it up in heaven. Thank you for helping me heal with the funk!

The talkbox is an underrated instrument. Gorgeous.
But is the talkbox really an "instrument" on its own? It enhances and facilitates the sound coming out of other instruments. It's like me saying the quarter inch cable is my favorite instrument.
@@nickdfoxy Yes because it requires a totally different playing style/approach. Just because you might be a great keyboard player, does not automatically mean you’ll be great with a vocoder.

@@nickdfoxy It's not an instrument. You can't make a talkbox produce sound on it's own, you have to hook it up to a guitar or keyboard. It's an effect, not an instrument.

Lot to unpack here. This is very good. I have never actually seen anyone using breath control before on a synth. Bass playing is on point. The vocals are amazing and everything else is just funky AF. Everyone is rocking it.
