    I recently spent 1 hour with Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha and the founder of True Beacon, a new age hedge fund. From beginning his career as a call center executive to becoming one of the youngest billionaires in the world, his journey has been an inspiration for startup founders across India. Zerodha has truly revolutionized how investing is done in India and has played a huge role in the massive increase in retail participation in the stock market, especially among the millennials and GenZ.

    First become a billionaire. Then become a philosopher. Pondering about the purpose of life is a luxury.

    • @alimuhammedkhorasi8743
      @alimuhammedkhorasi8743 2 года назад +178

      I would disagree. I think that unless you are so poor that you cant even fulfil your basic needs and properly discharge your familial responsibilities, you should constantly think about the purpose of human existence and structure your life around that purpose. That is what planning is about; theorizing and running multiple simulations in your head, logically arriving at the best possible scenario in accordance with the purpose and then directing all your energies towards actualizing it. Without knowing your ultimate purpose, it would be impossible to decide what is best as best/good/bad are subjective terms. Whatever takes you closer to fulfilling your purpose is good and whatever does not is bad. Many people go through life mindlessly chasing what society feeds into their mind only to regret it all in the end. Believe me I have seen countless of such examples wherein so-called "successful" people are crushed by the burden of regret and are failures in their own eyes. For example, there are people who go all in on their careers, sacrifice family life and dont even get married. Not saying that it is bad but it is not what MOST (not all, but most) people actually want. But unfortunately they fall prey to the "success" branding so common in today's materialistic, self-centred world.

      oh, i guess i have to first become a billionaire to ponder about the purpose of life, thanks! i am woke!!
      on a serious note, everybody ponders about the purpose of life in some way or the other, it takes a lot of self knowing and practice to know the true purpose of life, great philosophers throughout history were poor and couldn't care much about money, everybody has different goals and purposes

    Great video! I thank myself for never giving up even when it was very hard I kept pushing through until I made it out. My advice is that If you do your own investing, have you ever thought whether you should turn things over to a financial advisor? If you have significant assets, you have probably felt anxiety when making choices with your money. Perhaps you sensed that you might make better investing decisions if you knew just a little more and could invest without emotion. If this is the case, consulting a financial advisor makes perfect sense.

    • @Harvey879
      @Harvey879 7 месяцев назад

      You’re right! Working with a financial advisor will genuinely set you up for success in life. I’m delighted I was able to hire a financial advisor named John Desmond Heppolette, earlier this year. Because while others were grumbling about the downturn in the financial markets due to the state of the economy, I was busy learning from him and eventually made over seven figures in the first quarter of the year.

    • @c.moeller

      John Desmond Heppolette has been a significant step in my financial life journey, providing valuable knowledge, actionable advice, and motivational content. His supportive community has boosted my confidence, work engagement and has inspired me to strive for excellence. His assistance is a secret weapon for great financial growth, and his online presence is a must-see for anyone looking to improve their financial situation.

      John Desmond Heppolette, really seem to know this stuff. I found his web-page when I made a google search of his full names, read through his resume, educational background, qualifications and it was really impressive. I left him a note and booked a call session with him..

    Nikhil is a great human being. He has reached the peak early in life .He has colleagues who are a larger part of his family with everyone having the same purpose about the organizational development. So he does not let himself bound by anything and is in a totally free state…. which is a great achievement by any means. Philanthrophy is a natural byproduct of the thought process at this state of being free.
    Thinking about the purpose of life at this early stage in life shows his humble nature , but he needs a senior or a guru to guide/advise him .

      First rule to become successful financially - do the opposite of what these finfluencer parasites like Sharan say. I do exactly the opposite, 60% of my funds are in FD @ 7.5% p.a, 40% in real estate, I made the fortune flipping about 4 properties so far and own 4 now. FD is a simple, hassle-free and riskless return (I've earned passive income from FD for over 8 years now, returns are in the multiples of crores, purely from interest), 2 properties are rent bearing (I charge lesser than average and take full cash, no tax liability), again earned nearly 8 digits so far, tax free. I convert the cash to precious metals (silver and gold) in the unregulated goldsmith market and Ive just sold silver today for cash at 27% returns.
      Money is a dirty game, play it dirty, dont be a schmuck and give corporates the funding interest free in return for pittance of 10% or 12% returns and even day trading is like gambling, takes way too much time away from your freedom and is like playing 3 patta or dice,losers do it. If I do want to fund dirty companies like RIL, TATA, Infosys etc interest free (like in MF) I'd want returns of 25% per month, nothing less.
      Stop market investing, stop MF and stop crypto, all are intangible fools assets.

      IK. For example, when he first did the intro clip in his studio, there was so much reverb, making the audio really bad. I can understand when he's at someone's house. Probably a better mic would be the direction to go but for his in-house studio, he really needs to invest in getting some acoustic treatment considering now he's a full time content creator.

    This is my first podcast on RUclips from you sharan which came as a feed while watching one on some other podcast with the founder of mobikwik ...
    Since the title was too catchy. *how much money is too much* or some thing coupled with my long pending curiosity to know Nikhil our boy next door who has made us all proud.... here I m a happy consumer subscribing to your channel. This was quite a nice conversation, where I got a glimpse of this super successful guy Nikhil and a glance into his fascinating mind along with yours... I am more in awe of nikhil today after this watching this show than before.... ❤❤
    All the best sharan , have so much to catch up now on your channel.... I wonder how do I make time for all of it

    Loved Nikhil’s sense of humour pulling Shravan’ about his “partner” toned analysis and Sharan blushing without denying 😂😂😂
    Inclusive content if I have say 🫶🏽😎

    One of the best sessions i have watched - Good lessons learnt along with an element of fun. This is how it should be which makes a 45 min long video seem so short. Great going Sharan. And also Nikhil is one of those entrpreneurs who speaks with a certian manner and dosent fake - " Positivity or High Energy". Enjoyed this one. As in Sharan's words " Psychhh Bro"

      @@financewithsharan wasn't his response and views on crypto very laymanish? I am really surprised he did not have a single valid and compelling argument other than the same whatsapp gyan.. He is definitely pretending to be a novice. Surely he has invested in crypto.

    28:20 best part of if the interview...😂😂😂😂😂. I exactly get Nikhil's way of pulling legs.. it is so much from that late 80s-early90s kids way of pulling legs

    Mr. Kamath was very conservative and reserved in this interview. Felt like he wasn't interested. But good effort by Sharan.

    Barring the hints of homophobia and misogyny, this was a great watch - Nikhil seems to be a rare combination of grounded, intelligent, hugely successful, no-nonsense entrepreneur.
