i absolutely LOVE the dragon trail chicanes... especially those two on the the straight before the final corner... they look so awesome in replays when you hit them perfectly and have it pinned the whole way through

GG Polyphony for straightening out the "known issues" with the penalty system, it's clearly sorted. I genuinely hope that GT7 (or whatever it'll be called) has a proper single player experience.

I found your channel a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been addicted to watching all your videos. They’re both entertaining and super informative. Your analysis of sim racing is spot on! I had only played a bit of FM7 online in the past and it was a nightmare, but since I started watching your videos, I’ve delved into GT Sport online and I’ve been using the info I have learned from your videos and I think I can say that I am a decent, confident racer! Before today, I was unaware that there is more than one severity of death.
Just taken part in my first ever online race. First time online and first on GT sport daily races. Really enjoyed it, finished 4th and 7th with a lap time of 2:00.48 in a mclaren gt4... not the quickest but a great experience so far.

I use the RCZ and in many races I joined more than half were RCZ's. Giving the Veyrons a run for their money!

The handbrake glitch can be activated if you don't go out during the warm up...but never heard of being randomly activated.

I tried the Cayman, WRX, Scirocco, Ferrari-something, and the NSX, the latter of which is quite okay (I'm in B lobby, had my first online race in January) and worked best for me. My idea was not to qualify and then munching my way through the order, let the others kill themselves. Didn't work as planned, gained a few positions, achieved three out of four possible chicane-2-penalties (I´m totally with you), dropped back, got wiped out in chicane 1 similar to the Spaniard. I did not rage-quit. A couple of races further I dropped to DR C. Had a nice race against a Peugeot, and I was shocked about its straight line speed in comparison to the Honda (as if there's no slipstream behind the Peugeot!). So I changed my approach, got the Peugeot, did about 31 quali laps, and ended up with 1:57-ish, which was good enough for a pole position (I know, the top drivers doing 1:55-ish, but hey, I'm a beginner). I bottled chicane 2, failed the braking test of a French guy rushing towards Ascari (replay: he on full throttle, then without reason just touching the brake pedal for a millisecond), bumped into his back, got off track, showed off with a nice 540-degree-turn, ended up last. Next race started from 3rd, finished 5th (own mistakes). Next race again me on pole position, luckily stayed in the lead although I had really two bad first laps, then there was carnage behind, I finished first with a 6-second-gap. Not much, and not because of my driving skills, I was just lucky. This was my 10th victory overall, got me back int DR B. Monza ... truly a love-and-hate affair!

6 seconds is nothing. I got a 7 seconds penalty, going side by side in the chicane with a guy, no contact between us, a car comes flying from behind, no brakes, completely kills the guy next to me and in the next second I get a 7sec penalty. No idea what happened, I guess I "hit"/"touched" the guy while he was flying towards the shadow realm after being killed from behind. The killer got no penalty, of course. We should all change our names to PLS_FIX_PENALTY_xx

A similar thing happened to me yesterday. Was just braking to do the first corner at the start of the race, someone from behind me doesn't even brake, pushes me outside the track, I teleport backward and receive a 5 second penalty for coliding with other vehicles.
That's one way to start a race.
I'm so happy right now, I'm a noob but I went from 12th to 2th on race C because I started on softs, finished 4th. Man Brands Hatch is tiring.
Im trying to watch and like every super GT video! I watch 2-3 a day and Ive enjoyed each one. And for a bonus I’m getting all these tracks memorized and learning faster lines. Thanks, Super GT.

They need to just remove the penalty system. Once they fix it, bring it back. I truly believe it is doing more harm then good.

Well inspired by this video I jumped back into GTS last night for some Monza. Carnage. My safety rating took a serious hammering.
I initially read this as "Momoz, Momoz never changes" and it may as well be the title lol
Much of the time whenever I've ran wide or cut the track a little bit I get off the throttle and it results in no penalty because I slowed myself down
I can confirm it works, just don't touch accelerator or brake and no penalty.
I really like watching your videos. I don’t play GT, or even own a PlayStation, I play ACC on PC, but your videos are very enjoyable to watch.

This penalty system is unbelievable!
Some people just don't know how to brake or keep some safety distance when they are directly behind someone before a corner. On Brands Hatch I got pushed off the track two times in immediate succession - the first time in that quick bend to the right, got back on the track, took up speed again and got pushed off again in the next turn. So enfuriating ...
The Greek guy going ham was hilarious
Some People brake so early, which makes it hard to adapt your own Braking Point when in the Slipstream. Others just divebomb, even though they are a Mile behind... Pretty much a Carnage-Race 😅
That video summs up perfectly why i dont play gt sport anymore. Getting pushed and set back. Getting penaltys for stupid reasons. Assholes everywhere. Its like absolute mayhem. And yes i know multiplayer games yada yada but they aint even trying to make the penalty system more accurate and learning so i doesnt dish out penaltys for stupid reasons

A couple of us were discussing dirty drivers. And I mentioned the bad rep that Spanish drivers get. I said that Greek drivers were the worst by far. But here is a little known fact... Greek drivers on a pad, always wear oven mitts whilst racing. So considering this disadvantage. They are relatively clean 🙃
the penalty system checks for which car was hit last in a chain, so the spaniard that made contact with the poor russian received that penalty because the car was hit off the track and the system gives you a severe penalty when a car is removed from the track, thats how people can exploit the system by making small contact with other cars and driving slightly past the track limits.
I didn’t even know Monza was in GT Sport. And 4:17, Monster and Redbull on one car.....

The Veyron is more forgiving and easier to be consistent but the RCZ is quicker if you know what you're doing.

Everyone was using the RCZ last night. Seemed to be just as quick in a straight as the Veyron but much better through the corners.
There's another video months later here at Monza... Steve still can't get through that second chicane without a track limit penalty.
