As a new-ish FF15 player, this was not only very entertaining but educational as well because now, I can truly understand certain events I encountered on the game
You failed to mention that the great leap in technology that this civilization had was thanks to the Omega Weapon that came from another VERY distant world. It is said during the game that it was thanks to this alien knowledge that the Allagan Empire made a leap of hundreds or perhaps thousands of years in its technology.
Yeah was going to say the reason they became so powerful was because of the Omega weapon. They had the open minds too study and incorporate it, and Omega already was in a long standing fight with the dragons who are also aliens if I recall. Midgardsomr I believe was the one he pursued.

@@frankishe7317 There is a little. We still see the battles that we take part in, and know about some lesser attacks to villages around Ishgard. It's not much but still best than nothing.
It's very much worth your time if you like very well crafted universes with meaningful storylines and engaging characters. It's a big time commitment to get through all the story content (talking literally hundreds of hours of story content since the game has been going over a decade at this point), but it's very rewarding to see how everything begins to fit together over the course of the story. Either way, the free trial is substantial enough in that it gives you access to an absurd amount of story for basically nothing, so there's really no risk to giving it ago aside from the time investment obviously.

@@marcusblackwell2372 For everything up to the most recent expansion, Endwalker, then yes, you will need a subscription to get the full experience (as the game is in constant development and to cover the costs of the data centres/servers), but you get literally everything in the base game and the first expansion, Heavensward, for free as part of the free trial. Prior knowledge of the franchise is helpful to spot all of the references and easter eggs, but for actually understanding the storyline, it is not necessary as everything you need to know is communicated in the game itself.
