The Hanaria, Japan’s first passenger ship to run on hydrogen and biodiesel, began operations in April 2024 in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture.
Not only is it good for the environment, but the most surprising thing people also notice when riding the ship is how quiet it is. Passengers can enjoy a luxurious time surrounded by the natural sounds of the sea.
This ship uses a hydrogen storage module developed by Toyota based on the Mirai hydrogen fuel cell car. In addition to the ship, Toyota’s hydrogen system is being used by a growing range of companies.
Catch a glimpse of this in the second half of the video, where we visit the H2 & FC Expo. Toyota’s fuel cell systems, water electrolyzers, and other hydrogen-related products are on display, and the companies using them are at hand to talk about their initiatives.
Check out the future worlds these company representatives are building in this week’s video.
