That was a real pleasure to watch and listen to mate. Effortless light touch, subtle dynamics and accents, simple but not monotonous, solid time keeping, absolutely suits the song, all the best from England
Enjoyed this rendition. Now bring a smile. Check out YOYOKA's version. Perhaps even give it a try. You will have to use a pared down kit and stand. It's a bit of a dance using the kick pedal but clearly it can be done. She's 8 or so. She has her own RUclips channel but you'll find it easily enough just put yoyoka rock this town in the search bar.
I have seen so many drummers that have zero idea how to play this song... and YAY! You actually play it right! Though... your guys need to work on the swing more so they stop closing in that swing gap that creates the "one (gap) e and a two (gap) e and a three (gap) e and a four (gap) e and a" feel. Respect the swing gap! Believe me... I get mad at my guys for taking the swing away as well. It works a lot better if the electric bass player has double hits on the notes.... because that will fix the fact that you don't have the percussive slap as the first hit on the stand up double bass. aka: hit then note You can't play swing without the swing!
Our Band is doing this tune, thank u for the great cover! Love the Swing to it!
Thank you
Now here's a guy who has honed in on the shuffle. What a great sound, and great performance.
Thank you so very much for the kind words! Shuffles are one of my favorite rhythms to play on the drums.
This is an oldie and that never gets old. Love it
Thank you
