    Thank you for not skipping any steps. I haven't canned since I was a kid at home, and I'm getting back into it. Some of the videos on utube can be really confusing, lol. You made it very simple and explained the entire process. I have 4 gallon from the freezer that I need to can, now I know how. Thank God! haha

    I Thank God and you for a well informed video on canning bone broth. For years now, I have been using freezer space for the broth, now my canning shelves can be also showcased with bone broth along with all my other vegetables and fruits from our garden and fruit trees

    Broth is probably one of the best staples to have. The color of your broth is so nice. Its like pretty jewels of the pantry. Thank you for sharing. I cook mine in a large roaster like that too. so much easier than baby sitting the stove.

      Absolutely! I love a nice rich color! I use lots of onion skins to help with that. Thanks so much for watching a taking time to comment. ❤️

    You did inspire me! I bought a pressure canner 6 years ago (yup, SIX) and finally opened it today. 🤦🏼‍♀️🙌🏻 I just pulled it off the heat for the first 6 quarts of chicken stock (which I make in my Instant Pots, btw-only takes 3 hours, and no babysitting!)! This will be the first time I haven’t had to freeze my stock, or use it right away. I’m feeling so accomplished, and it honestly helped watching you do it. So satisfying and peaceful.

    Another one to add to my list. I have been saving my onion/veggie scraps. Can’t wait to can this and place in my extended pantry. Have a wonderful weekend!

    As soon as I get my 50 or 60 pounds of leg quarters parcooked and canned I will be working on chicken bone broth the bones. Can hardly wait to get started but I need the time off from driving the bus to do so.

      Sounds like you have a busy day of canning headed your way soon! You will be so happy at the end of that day once you see all those jars lining the shelf. So exciting! Thanks so much for watching. ❤️

    Question: If you can the stock, doesn’t it ruin the collagen that you extracted from the bones? The stock doesn’t become gelatinous. ❤️ watching your videos.

    • @RowCoFarms
      @RowCoFarms  2 года назад +4

      I wondered that myself but when i put a jar in the refrigerator it gels up so the collagen and gelatin are still there!

    Thanks for the reminder that I have “beef bones” in my freezer that I need to get processed. Your chicken broth has a beautiful color.

      Thank you so much! If you roast those beef bones for a few hours before you put them in for broth making it will get that deep color too! Thanks so much for watching.

    I just got a pressure canner recently. I'm studying how to use it and watching everyone's videos to catch as many tips as ican. Chicken broth is probably the first thing I'll make, as I use a ton of it! Thank you!

    Good morning Julie. Broth like this with the onions and carrots is something I have yet to make. I need to get me a big roaster. I’ve seen them so many times at estate sales and the thrift stores but with it just being me and my husband at home now, I always thought I didn’t need one. Now with recipes like this and tomato recipes, I want one. Also, I need to make you one of the counter quilts or canning mats like I made Constance. I made about 15 of my favorite channels one for Christmas last year. I love mine. They are so useful for hot jars and also big pans that come out of the oven. God bless.

    • @RowCoFarms
      @RowCoFarms  2 года назад +1

      Thank you so much! I see those roasters at thrift stores all the time so keep an eye out for one there. Those counter mats are so convenient to have. That was very generous of you to make those for you’re favorite channels 😃. How nice! Thanks so much for being here and taking time to comment. ❤️

      I was the same way but thinking my pantry. Definitely need one also. I saw one last week at the goodwill that was brand new but had no way to get it that day because my daughter had dropped me off while she went to exercise. It was 25$. I hated it but missed deal for sure!! Somebody else was blessed this time.

      Those roasters are great when you’re using them but they are definitely not space saving in any way. I’m glad I have a little extra room to keep mine around. But I could see that it would be the first to go if I didn’t have space.

    How do you defat your stock? If I don’t cool mine I have ended up with really oily fatty stock that is not good for cooking. I would like to end the laborious cool down in the refrigerator.

  • @priscillajenne7542

    Before canning the stock at what point did you remove the fat

      Thank you for your comment I had to look up and see what the difference was -
      Stock is generally made from bones, and broth is generally made from flesh

    How do you get that many chicken bones??

    • @RowCoFarms
      @RowCoFarms  2 года назад

      We raise and butcher our own meat chickens every year. I had 6 whole chickens that needed to be dealt with so I canned the meat and then made stock from the bones that were left over. Hope that helps answer your question. Thanks for being here and for watching. You can also get chicken carcass bones from Azure Standard. They come in a 40lb box I think. www.azurestandard.com/shop/product/food/meat/chicken/frame-for-soup-stock/chicken-frame-for-soup-stock-organic-frozen/20002?package=MT865&a_aid=LlQK4gCBEI
