For his second travel vlog, TheRealJims discovered the ancient technique of "standing still while filming" 🤣
(Seriously, I ended up not even putting a filter over the Florida footage in this video because the unbearable shaky cam from the old video made it easy to tell it apart.)

My wife and I went to this one a few years ago! I met Homer and Marge and told Homer he was my hero. Homer tried to take me over to Moe's for a drink, and Marge had to pull him back to the meet-and-greet area. Magical moments.

I love the Simpsons, my husband took me, our daughter and my friend to Universal Orlando a few weeks back and my friend and I geeked out hard at Simpsons Land. Idk why it gets so much hate tbh.

Naming it anything else than what you already have would be misleading. The current title is exactly what the video is.
Seeing that Homer mascot reminds me of the time Dan Castellanta played a Homer mascot on L.A. Law. He was a sweet guy who loved being a mascot but accidentally broke character when he had a heat stroke.
Would that really be breaking character though? I feel like most people react to having heat strokes the same way.
@@Max_The_Flower well in the episode it shows him having the heat stroke in front of park guests & being filmed, which broke his worker contract. Dan's character is suing the theme park to get his old job back because he loves being Homer so much.
Messed up that he had to become a mascot to barely survive on top of being one of the most famous cartoons in the world. I hope Sony went out of business for that.
All I'm going to say is that they need more Bort licence plates in the gift shop!

He didn't catch it in the video, but the Kwik-E-Mart name tags and name keychains both have Bort variants. There are three stacks of Bort nametags, they're that popular. Also if you smack Krusty's uvula when walking into The Simpsons ride he'll gag, guests are encouraged to hit it.
Goodness! So much more crowded than Florida. The crowds would've driven me mad 😆 I'm a huge fan of your travel logs so this was a great surprise!

I am surprised that they don’t sell Squshies, that would be a nice refresher due to the LA sun. Also, it’s too bad they can’t do more Halloween themed decorations for Springfield.

@@mayathepsychiic in other balloon games, they under inflate the balloons so they have less pressure and are harder to burst.
The king of Simpsons fans in his natural habitat, always entertaining.
It amuses me how much the restaurants, games and gift shop are a part of your theme park experience in the US. Coming from a lower income family, you can imagine my parents reaction to spending money on anything after they had paid for us to get in!
With how much such things cost, my middle income family has had the same objections
It depends on the person. In my upper-middle class American family they weren't part of it. Just cheap attempts to siphon money from your pockets.
Well for the restaurants at least it makes sense, you're visiting a park that's gimmick is its mimicking a fictional location so having food available from said location is part of the experience.
I regularly go to Universal Orlando since I have an annual pass and am always astounded when I see a small family have to pay over $100 for a sub-par lunch. And we thought theme park food was expensive back in the 00s.

7:46 that reminds me of when I went to Disney World as a kid for a week. On the day my family visited Animal Kingdom, I was wearing a Harry Potter shirt featuring Aragog the spider. When my family went to get an autograph from safari-dressed Goofy, he pointed to my shirt and cowered in fear for a moment.

Same! I remember when I was little i had big dorky glasses and i was at Disneyland Anaheim and the guy playing smee raised his glasses at me and waved during a parade. I guess he liked them lol
How ironic that the 7 Duffs, a reference to a parody of Disney Land would actually one day end up in Disney Land. I think you actually mentioned how the Simpsons went from being about parodying pop culture to actual pop culture at some point. It may have been another channel, but this completely proves that point.
Universal is a seperate park from Disney, I'm guessing they still own the theme park rights to the show

Two things-
- My wife and I did a bunch of Florida theme parks on our honeymoon and we were determined to take our time through Speingfield that go around. I heard legends of an upstairs room of Simpsons art, but was disappointed to learn it wasn't there. Very glad to know it IS in the other location.
- Popping balloons with balls is where your friend Tyler is a viking.

I loved hearing "Voodoo, Roots 'n Grog" or "LeChuck's Theme" from Secret of Monkey Island during the "Thar She Throws" segment! I love the Monkey Island series so much, and it just tickled me when I heard it!
I took my family to the Florida location last March. My wife and I got a Flaming Moe, Lard Lad donut and Krusty Klump bar with almonds. I also got a "Bort" keychain.
this was the perfect thing to procrastinate with, congrats on another addition to your (stuffed animal) family!

I travelled to the same place when I was much younger (from Australia). My family had been to Disney land the day before so I ended up buying a Disney shirt and wore it the next day here. Got a photo with homer and he saw my shirt and covered it up! 😂 Good times man thank you for the throwback time really flies!
Those Krusty burgers look quite the similar to the Skinner's old family recipe for steamed hams.
Oh I love those creepy plushies, they’re cursed as heck. I love these videos, I’m sure I’ll never go here, so it’s nice to see a rundown of what they’re like. That Homer actor was great!

Went to Hollywood earlier this year as a trip with my entire family. If I wasn't with them, I would've spent almost all day in Springfield! It was great
I've been to the California location, but that was back in 2008, and don't remember a lot of this other than the ride, gift shops, and the area for pictures. I also took a picture with Homer if I remember correctly. I loved the Springfield section, and love that you prefer this one over the Florida park even though I never went there. It's also cool that you visited my home state this year.
It's neat that you were able to go to the California theme parks in LA. I was planning a Disneyland trip for this week months ago because I wanted to go to Disneyland for my birthday, but it didn't work out. I live in California, but I'm all the way up near the San Francisco Bay Area. I wish I lived further down south.

Sounds like my problem, only I live in San Diego so LA is north of me. I guess technically I'm closer-- at least closer than San Francisco, but LA traffic easily adds an extra two hours onto any trip up there, so instead of two, it takes about four hours just to get anywhere near Disneyland, Knott's, or Universal, let alone LA.
I went in 2011, and I don't remember that much either. I wasn't very well that day, although I did enjoy the trip and got a photo with Lisa.
I was in universal studios a few months ago with my family, but by the time we got to Springfield, the family was wanting to go to other areas nearby. So, we basically just passed through. We did get a big, pink donut though, which was big enough to share amongst us. Overall, I am hyped to go back some day and check out more of the stuff there.

Universal Studios Hollywood's my favorite theme park! I remember when I was 13, waiting impatiently for the Springfield expansion to come to the Simpsons Ride area. Definitely makes the experience feel more full, without the old "Doc Brown's Chicken" that is now "Cletus' Chicken Shack" sticking out like a sore thumb.
This video made me think of the trip i took with my dad to universal like a year and a half ago. Thanks Jim🙏

Good choice with spider pig! I havent been able to spend much time at the Hollywood Simpsons land yet, but I walked through it briefly once and could already tell it was better than what we have here in FL! A lot more detail and fun easter eggs! Thank you for this tour!
The drawings are so cool. The authenticity of the Hollywood experience is what makes the Hollywood Universal way better than the one in Florida.
My partner and I are big fans of Simpsons and your channel, and thoroughly enjoyed the LA Springfield (haven’t done Florida), thanks for going more in-depth with it as we definitely didn’t get to spend as much time in it as we wanted unfortunately :(
We definitely got the same vibe that it was “homely” and quaint given it felt all tucked into a corner and like a Town Square.

Between this land, The Wizarding World and Super Nintendo world along with rides like Transformers, Jurassic World, The Mummy’s Revenge, Minion Mayhem, Secret Life of Pets and the Studio Tour, this park has REALLY stepped up over the years
I'm a guy and have really long, thick hair. I got to meet Homer and he teased my hair a bit and rubbed his head sadly. I told him he's a handsome guy and he shook my hand. What a time!

I swear for some reason the Krusty Burger looks so delicious from the menu picture and the place doesn't really seem like it's even selling it up that much
I don't really do amusement parks...but I keep getting the impression that in 2023 if given a choice between Universal and Disney, Universal is the better bang for the buck
While I do like both simpsons parks in Florida and Hollywood, I feel the the simpsons attractions in Florida get overshadowed by Harry Potter. I’d love to go back to hollywood and see the simpsons attractions again!
Ironic when Disney owns the rights to the Simpsons, but the theme park is at a rival theme park.

I know this vid is about the California Springfield, but one of my formative memories of visiting the parks version of Springfield was in Orlando, bashing the absolute crap out of my toe on a stone trash can, and having to wait inside the Kwik-E-Mart for the first aid people to get there. A fantastic way to accidentally guilt my parents into getting me some merch!

We went at the absolute best time where yes there were people but not enough to make a line anywhere so anything you wanted to go do you could do as many times as you wanted without waiting....I went on that damn ride at least a dozen times with my little brother and only stopped because we had other places to go but could have easily kept going for hours
