It was pretty decent timing for taking a short break over the holidays anyway (which are already super busy), but am hoping to sort out the computer issues soon.
I feel like Universal sunk *ALL OF THE MONEY* into Harry Potter World because when Harry Potter was still huge and didn't look gimmicky they told themselves, "Hey--neglecting to update Springfield doesn't sound like it'll bite us in the ass now, will it? Of course not..."
This is one of the most weirdly relaxing videos I've ever watched. I hope one day you could review the Simpsons video games, such as Hit & Run. It would be something different.
I was thinking the same thing. Only it is well secured after closing time. Do'h, if someone manages to do it, I mean it is not impossible. Going to jail and tell your fellow inmates, yeah, I sneaked into Universal Studios Simpson's town and actually cut the head of Jebediah S, will probably make you the most popular dude in jail. As in wtf where you thinking, and not, um, popular for other reasons.
9:32 was actually kind of adorable. I am a bit of a rabid plush collector and I admittedly do group them by personality or who would be the most "fun" together sometimes.
This is super cool! I've never been to Universal, and I never would have expected this level of fanservice and references. I would have thought they'd go for "maximum appeal" to non-fans, but I was really surprised. But holy crap, $9.50 for a Flaming Moe? No wonder Moe got so rich selling them.
I'm just surprised there's no attraction that's a recreation of the Simpsons house like that one house that was in that giveaway years ago granted that's probably just because there's not many ways to make people pay extra money to access it
Glad you got to enjoy it, one of my favorite "lands" in any theme park, mostly for nostalgia, but I still love it. Also Cletus' Chicken Shack for life.
I've visited the California and Florida parks multiple times. Here are some stray observations: - I have never had to wait in line for the Simpsons Ride. I had to let others ahead of me in the lobby so I could see all the animation loops. Which is a shame since it's a well done ride and a vast improvement over the BTTF ride it replaced which I'm pretty sure gave me whiplash as a child. - The first time I visited the Kwik-E-Mart, I saw the Bort plates were out of stock. I thought this was a brilliant and hilarious little detail to sneak in. However, the next time I visited, they were in stock. Oh well. - Photo op with escaped convict Sideshow Bob and Krusty was fun. Photo of Marge with her arm around my waist made me feel things I wasn't expecting. - My wife was with the kids somewhere so I texted her I was going to Moe's for a beer. And then I did. That's worth the park admission right there. - At both parks, Duff is an IPA and Duff Lite is a blonde/pilsner/cream ale made by small craft breweries in their respective geographic area. They were expensive, but ok. Good on Universal for not just giving you Bud Light or somesuch at that price. Sure, Universal could have spent some more time and money on these attractions, but if you're a big enough fan to regularly watch Jim's videos, then you need to go at least once. Go before they replace it with some other IP. The Springfields have been less busy every time I visit so I imagine it won't be long before they swap them out.
I remember my high school gradbash a few years ago. My class (and a lot of other senior classes from different schools) went to Universal. Springfield was the last place me and my friends went to and we had a blast. Every so often, we’d be waiting in lines and then start randomly clapping for no reason whatsoever, then the rest of the people in the queue started clapping along with us. For some reason, that was the funniest thing ever to us. That night kicked ass. We’re thinking of going again when the time and money is right.
This video is a favorite of mine, I adore your commentary and dry humor. I was worried for a second the Itchy and Scratchy attraction would contain childhood trauma... That episode were Scratchy is nailed to an escalator and skinned alive when making it to the top... I have had escalator anxiety ever since.
Thanks for this, I've always been curious about the Simpsons section at Universal studios, but I'm not willing to go Universal Studios (Or Florida) just to see it. In the UK, those Homer Face Slippers are regularly available at a big brand shoe shop that's in every city and town. I've had several pairs of these slippers over the years. I would be extremely disappointed if that was best merch Universal Orlando had to offer. The plushies look cool though, especially the pinchy one (RIP Pinchy). Btw the Harry Potter stuff looks identical to the UK version.
I went there twice. Once in 2013, and the other in the 2019 (as you can see in my profile picture). Maybe the last time I'll get to be there in Universal, because it's probably going to a Disney Park anytime in the future.
Since I will probably never make it down to Universal Studios Florida, I am really glad you shared this video. It was a pretty decent tour overall. Did you happen to do something similar for the Harry Potter section? P.S. Was the gift shop out of Bort license plates?
JonFawkes I see. All I remember from it is the Simpsons ride (which was mind blowing to me at the time) and getting an employee shirt for the Kwik-E-Matt at the gift shop. Kept that shirt for years
I got to go to Universal and Disney World for the first time in 2017, and as far as The Simpsons area goes, I didn't get to check out all of it but I had a good time. Didn't even know they had food there! Thanks for the heads up, next time I go I'm definitely gonna hit them up.
Loved this video! I have only been to the Simpsons land at Universal Florida once, about 10 years ago. Went to the California park's version in 2016 and I loved it.
The Simpsons Ride was definetly one of my favorite rides when I went to Universal. Also, about those Homer slippers, I used to have SpongeBob ones that was exactly like those.
I'm kind of wondering now, with Disney now owning The Simpsons, if we COULD actually get that immersive Springfield experience at some point. I mean, it's unlikely, but The Simpson's is still relatively popular. They could remodel part of Epcot to have a Moe's and a Kwik-E-Mart at the very least
Speaking of Closed Captioning... The Simpsons episode where Milhouse brings a toy pony to show and tell has a great bit of closed captioning. The screen showed him deliver his line about the pony and then did a similar sound notation. It read "Lame neighing sound."
I wish I'd made it here. The one in Los Angeles didn't have so much, but I at least got a photo with Lisa. I think it only had the Simpsons Ride simulation.
@@RobiticDuck I sometimes rewatch those. I now have to settle for Goosebumps Monthly that poparena does. That's pretty good, though. Later this month, his review of Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes is due.

I'm loving the lore that TheRealJims exists in two timelines, a Simpsons Timeline and a Harry Potter timeline. Which begs the question: when do we get a TheRealJims Mysteries episode on the channel's timelines?
With all the rumors going around about the future of Springfield in the Universal parks, I'm planning a trip to say goodbye later this year. I've fallen deeply in love with this show over the past few months and never appreciated this part of the park when I visited in the past. I want to give it a nice sendoff, with the hopes that Disney knows how much of an asset it is, and does something good with it.
That's my favorite place to go to on my birthday trip jim. Every year in December or January me and my family go to universal orlando as my birthday road trip. My birthday is actually in July but we go in January or December because we like to go when the weathers nice and cold. I went on the ride for the first time last year. The past few times we went I was a little hesitant on going on it mainly because I heard it was very thrilling. But after I gave it a try it wasn't so bad.
