Tom Green singing "Daddy would you like some sausages?" or "I'm the backwards man." has been living in my head rent free since I watched this film back in 2001.
Korey, you forgot to mention the best part: Tom Green only directed the movie because the original director had quit. And after seeing the final product, who could blame him?
Tom had cancer at the time and he talked to other directors, but realized that they weren't right to direct his movie. I mean, he's not wrong. I can't think of any other director who would make a movie like this. Even David Lynch would think this is too much.
Also watching this movie, you can’t help but think back in the day, “What the fuck did Drew Barrymore see in him?” I guess she finds him funny, but you know… humor is subjective 😂
So, the ending scene with the kid in the propeller, the studio was going to originally give it the NC-17 rating just because it was shown as is. The only way it got the R rating was Tom had to add the kid saying "I'm ok, I'm ok". If the character had died right there, immediate NC-17 rating
One of my favorite quotes regarding the film comes from Roger Ebert: “The day may come when Freddy Got Fingered is seen as a milestone of neo-surrealism. The day may never come when it’s seen as funny.”
He also said this, “This movie doesn't scrape the bottom of the barrel. This movie isn't the bottom of the barrel. This movie isn't below the bottom of the barrel. This movie doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with barrels.” Even talk shit about the MPA for giving this piece of shit an R Rating on his show, Ebert and Roeper.

Tom Green could be considered the Andy Kaufman of the 2000s because he did something that no one thought possible: Trolled us with a movie so bad at first, that later on we are calling it one of the greatest troll films ever
Andy knew how to troll people and be light hearted about it.. Tom Green was okay doing just skits which some of them were funny as hell but in this movie his trolling became too mean spirited that even turned off some of his followers.. and back in those days that was very hard to do in that era but damn it he did it..
I don't know about that. Andy Kaufman was actually funny and kept people on the fence. Tom Green never convinced pretty much anyone with this movie, which is why so many just walked out on it.
I remember I was really excited to see Freddy Got Fingered because of the scene where Tom Green sings, "Daddy, would you like some sausage?" That scene was the main one that was advertised. Suffice to say, I didn't know that the movie would become one of the worst theater experiences. By the time that scene came on, I was scowling 😂😭
That bit of the trailer was all I ever saw of the movie, and my ten-year-old self thought that sh*t was hilarious! My sister and I used to sing it all the time. The rest of the movie? Glad I never saw it, oof!
I saw it in the theatre and it was one of the best movie experiences I’ve ever had. Everyone was howling with laughter but it was more than that. There was disbelief and an atmosphere of “what the hell is this going to throw at us next”.
Whether Freddy Got Fingered is even a film is debatable. It has acting, it has photography in a filmic sequence, and it's set to a film score, and none of it comes together. It's literally white noise passing itself off as a movie

I first saw this a few years back with friends, absolutely baked out of my gourd, and I loved it. The absurdity, Rip Torn's performance, the idea that Tom Green made it terrible on purpose, all of it. Up there with Kung Pow: Enter The Fist when it comes to movies that leave you wondering what the hell you just watched.
I seem to remember an episode of Tom Green's show were he was doing one of his usual stunts but he messed with the wrong dude and got physically attacked. Tom just went off yelling about calling the cops and wanting to sue the guy.... Yeah Tom, thats what you get when you poke a bear.
There’s a theory that Tom was purposefully trying to tank the movie and the promotion in order to force MTV and Viacom to release him from his contract at the time. It’s not outside the realm of possibility.
Anthony Michael Hall was like a joke about the Director who quit, before Tom Green ended up Directing it.. Something like that. Especially that line at 19:43. 😂 Idc what anyone says, this movie was and still is stupid but hilarious to me.
Did Tom Green and producers come out and both say Tom Green didn't want to make a movie at all but was forced to, so he just saw how far he could go to waste their money? Then it still broke even somehow.
"Why is nobody stopping this"😂😂😂 I remember seeing this movie as a teenager, I am certain I was the key age demographic. But still thought this movie was unnecessary. Finally y’all do one of my favorite movies. Fuck yes! Please do Pootie Tang next.
26:05 This movie is a R-rated gory version of a Daffy Duck cartoon now thinking about it XD
Tom Green stole that backwards suit gag from Robin Williams’ first episode of Mork and Mindy.
Anthony Michael Hall was like a joke about the Director who quit,
before Tom Green ended up Directing it.. Something like that.
Especially that line at 19:43. 😂
Idc what anyone says, this movie was and still is stupid but hilarious to me.
the creme de la creme of bad movies
27:06
I’m pretty sure Tom Green always knew the movie was awful. He just wanted to see how awful he could make it.
Tom Green was actually married to Drew Barrymore for about 5 minutes back then.
Between Charlie's angels and getting high as fucc; I'm sure they were happy back then.
I like how korey forgot pixie was on him when he stood up.
WAS THAT A FART AT 27:57
😂😂😂😂
Man this movie still have me laughing my ass off
Did Tom Green and producers come out and both say Tom Green didn't want to make a movie at all but was forced to, so he just saw how far he could go to waste their money? Then it still broke even somehow.
It's a great film
"Why is nobody stopping this"😂😂😂
I remember seeing this movie as a teenager, I am certain I was the key age demographic. But still thought this movie was unnecessary. The plot was weak, and relies to much on the obsurdity for a lack of plot. I love obsurdist comedy, but this just felt low effort af.
And you know there’s a good chance Tommy Wiseau, saw this movie and thought to himself, “I could do that”
This is my favorite comedy. I know it sounds like im being pretentious but it really is. There are dark subject matters as humans we wont laugh or even think about. For me the sheer bleakness of the comedy in this movie is enough to make me laugh uncontrolably. Call me crazy but i love this movie
This is one of y’all’s funniest reviews ever. Definitely top 3!
Six minutes in and this has to be one of the better DT reviews. Good critique so far. Edit: also this review would make a great companion to RLM’s review. Mike thought this film worked well as a parody of absurd gross out comedies
Gene Wilder was considered for The Dad but turned it down. Honestly for the best.
I agree, rip toren did a better job.
@@123612100 Also Wilder is great but he looks nothing like Tom Green; it would be hard to buy him as his Dad
How did you not talk about the Freddy subplot at all?! There is so much chaos there
Ah, Tom Green.
The guy who made believe think I had testicular cancer when I was in my teens. I made a doctor grab my balls. We were both disgusted.
Thank you for that, Tom.
I often view this as a middle finger to adam sandler or coming of age man child films.
Martin: Why isn't anyone stopping this!?!?!
I remember my mom renting this when I was a child and being so confused…..the only thing I remember is “daddy would u like some sausage “
I woke up the happiest I have in a long time after I saw this video. I think i wrote in a comment section less than a year that they need to review this movie!!!
As someone who saw this movie when I was like 11 and hasn't seen it since I will say I still think this movie is hilarious.
Rip Torn makes this movie for me. He wins most irritable father of all time and its justified.
I love this movie. I thought it was hilarious and out of control. This kind of movie will never be ever made.
Here's the REAL question. Would you rather be around tom green or John Leguizamo from the Pest?
I remember my younger brother making our family watch Freddy Got Fingered. My parents thought it was the stupidest movie and I just felt this level of cringe while watching it.
😂😂
This movie is the ultimate guilty pleasure. Also have to give it credit for introducing me to the music of Sex Pistols and Eric B and Rakim.
Nothing to be guilty about.
The only thing I remembered from this movie was the sausage on strings bit. I agree with y'all, maybe laughed/chuckled a couple times, I was more irritated the whole time. It's a long skit, not a movie as far as I'm concerned.
Happy to say I bought this on dvd. Classic Tom green! Back when comedies wanted to earn those offensive R ratings just because 😂😂
Halleluyer we eatin good tonight. This needed to be a 2 parter
Give John Carpenter an 1/10 of this movie's budget and he could create a film with a cult following...
Tom Green is a legend. This movie is a comedy gem.
I remember catching this on TV when I was younger, and I didn’t wanna watch it, but I just didn’t understand how this was a thing, I just couldn’t look away because I couldn’t stop thinking… what?!?! Lol
4:39 korey launched that doggo into orbit.
This review was way funnier then the actual movie
Billy cackling the whole time 😂
Stuff like this proves that you guys really love your fans lol
Freddy Got Fingered is art and very purposeful in its execution, I recommend watching redlettermedias review. It's abrasive as hell but thats kinda the point of it. hate it or love, its not really a movie you watch, its more of an experience and for that I respect it.
@@OldManYellsAtClouds YES ! But in the realm of bad movies, it is truly one of a kind. We can all say “the room” is just a bad movie. But to some people like me, its a little more then that and I feel that way about Freddy got fingered also.
@@OldManYellsAtClouds Nothing that is subjective is just anything that you declare it is. Sorry.
It’s like a TikToker just trying random things to see what goes viral
Freddy Got Fingered is the one movie where reviewers keep on telling us how unfunny it is while trying desperately not to laugh
Tom Green was very popular in the mid-late 90’s. He was even the spokesperson for PepsiOne. This movie damaged his career.
Guys, you really needed to talk about the elephant scene! It's definitely a scenario you would never picture until you see someone else actually doing it. Also, no mention about why the movie's title is "Freddie Got Fingered"?
I love this movie , I love his show . Tom Green was amazing
Was Tom and Drew together in real life at this point?
"this movie isn't funny at all"
*Proceeds to laugh at things from the movie over and over again*
That's them lol
Yeah I'm kinda confused about where the critique is. It's a comedy that evidently made you laugh, what's the issue?
We saw the video
Because of how terrible it is, not because it's funny. You failed to make a point like how this failed to be a movie.
They also admitted they liked certain characters. Jeez if this is the type of movie your defending them you must really suck
This was one of those movies that was funny as hell as a kid but dumb as hell as an adult 😂
Opposite for me once I realized the entire film is a Troll of the studio who gave Green the money to shoot it.
Yeah, it's because the fuck you mtv sentiment isn't clear but it's there.
It took me 20ish years to understand Tom. His MTV show was funny, and had it's moments, though the movie was just a big shit on Hollywood. He set out to make the most idiotic, stupid, and weird movie ever to get a theatric release.
When dude is on the roof with wheel chair lady i one of the most subversive and hilarious things I've ever seen.
