awesome solo! any tips for anyone starting jazz guitar? sheet music is very confusing but i love the genre

Thankyou! For me at least, I think of music more from the perspective of Improvisation in general rather than just jazz.
As far as reading sheet music is concerned, I understand that it can be overwhelming, but at least knowing how to read a Chord Chart or a Leadsheet really makes the job easier.
But here are some tips I followed when I was getting into Jazz:
1. Choose a few Jazz Standards you like. You can refer to “The Real Book”.
2. Learn the melodies of these tunes and then the accompanied harmony.
3. Start by embellishing the melodies and playing them your own way while still trying to keep the essence alive.
4. Do the same with the harmony
