"By the way there's not gonna be tabs for any of this, if you wanna learn you can learn like an adult." Every once in a while Rudy just drops some absolute gold on us.
Rudy feels like that funny and talented friend who you enjoy watching as they grow more confident in their content and dare to try new things. I had a lot of fun watching this! even learned some cool approaches to improvisation that maybe I didn't think about that much before
I usually make errors when improvising. I really like the fact that you didn't cut the parts where you made mistakes, it actually takes some guts! it feels nice to see that I am not alone! Thanks!
Embrace the errors. I think one of the worst attitudes towards an instrument is being scared of making mistakes. You have to push yourself well beyond what you can do in order to improve. Sure, during a life gig, you perhaps should play what's comfortable, but during practice or during jamming, if you never make mistakes - you never learn anything. Seen people freeze up on the instrument as soon as they're not satisfied with their result. Huge mistake, they never get anywhere. And then on stage, you're hot, your hands are sweaty, you're nervous, your band mates mess up, you can't hear yourself, your equipment isn't working properly - you'll make mistakes, better know how to deal with them. Any guitarist who hides them is a fool. You can watch John Mayer's live streams - he makes more mistakes than I do tbh and streams them to the largest fanbase any guitarist in the world enjoys.
Find the chord changes in the upper 3 strings is really a good tip, I usually disregard this step and end up doodling everywhere because I don't pay attention to underlying chords. Thanks Habibi
Mate, all jokes aside, I love this video. I love your approach and I love how you explained it in a simple way. I've kinda been teaching myself to improvise lately and it's been going... well yeah. So I really appreciate these nuggets of wisdom (even if you don't think it to be so) as a novice.
I am an advanced player, been playing most my life.. I like your approach I have similar approaches. for the nubes chiming in, this fella Rudy is a good fella for making this video.. he didn't have to give any of us his insight. appreciate it passer=bys. good work man, I enjoy your content. found you surfing the web when my brother died back in may. had me laughing every since.
yoo i've always been interested in watching you make lesson videos but didn't think you'd be interested so i'm very happy to see you take a shot at it, keep doing what you love Rundy, and thanks for making me suffer
This is good in the idea that to improvise you may have worked out a basic lick or variation, and have a general goal of creating tension or release. That is not just random and good, there is a looseness and creativity, but also intent
Can we just appreciate that at 4:44, Rudy probably didn't plan to have his cat come up on the desk, and yet he added an extra joke to the video for us Now that's true effort
the way you deliver the lesson in your humorous way is fantastic !! Had to pause from laughing too much. Instant sub. The best part is when you don't treat me like a dumbass lmaoo. there are far too many 'video lessons' that cater to the player that just picked up the thing 20 minutes ago. Keep up the great work Rudy 👍👍
You talk exactly like a buddy of mine I met 12 years ago when I moved to Beirut for college. I haven’t been to Lebanon for over 9 years now and I miss it badly.
"It's OK. I forgive myself." - I cracked laughing at this. Duuude I've always liked Rudy's content but this shit right here is GOLD. Funny as hell, instructive and smart. I'm just years away of understanding the musical part - let alone performing it.
No jokes at all you really spoke well about the less technical things that most people don't know about like finding your inner tonal language, a lot of people without fathers get lost at this point 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I used to play guitar, haven't been on the fret board for more then 10 years now, am I still aloud to watch the video? well to bad I'm watching it cuz I just love Rudy's videos
I recently bought myself an acoustic from Walmart and when I read the title for this video, I knew it was for me 😁😆 very interesting stuff to learn, thank you!

if you need a larger step back to learn the fretboard, here you go bråthers

Tamam.
I did not even ask "why?"
Improv? What about interpolation?
Thank you bråther

we adults learn by pausing the video and imitating finger by finger note by note what he does
and instead of note by note, remember their degree in that scale he played
@@huyle2057 that's actually a nice one, thanks!
he might be right, but it still hurts.
He can't improv, my daughter is 5 and she can improv better than him.
These are the quality lessons we can expect from Cherkelee.

such an unwarranted insult, man, he deserved more
Dude, if you really like Rudy, insult him. That's what we do here.

"you're gonna learn like an adult"

"You just read sheet music, what's up with that?"
its funny, how this is extremely meme heavy, yet much better than like 90 percent of other tutorials on this topic

Right? So cringe

For future reference, the right 'made-up' percentage is '83'. Always use '83'. '83' is legendary.
83 sounds legit, but seventeen percent disagree
12:40 you absolutely should make this a full song, much better than you wishing to be a horse
12:27 when you don't have enough guitar so you add vocals
Definitely my best tutor. Brings you knowledge packed with humor😂😂

That little annoyed "Ya Allah" resonates with my soul.
One can see Rudy almost breaking into laughter before he cuts off the video! That’s even more hilarious

i enjoy the back and forth with your altar ego. it is very raw and real, and so much like what we do when we are creating....

I like your style here, and that you dont just do the good ole 12barblues, but something more interesting!
Also love the humor bro :)
