  • It's 4:20 pm on a Thursday. This time Link light rail is now open and people are riding it. Lots of people. Also lots of buses! Westlake Station is one of the busier transit stations in Seattle. It is the terminus for Link light rail, the Seattle Streetcar, and the Seattle Center Monorail.
This is 19 minutes worth at twice the speed.

This is so cool. We don't have tunnels, light rail or articulated buses. Public transit there is worth it. Thats nice . Hope to see Florida build like that system someday. Although there won't be underground tunnels or light rails.

I live in sea tac so I miss the 194. I don't care about the lightrail.

Notice the folks with suitcases getting on the 194 express bus to the airport instead of waiting for the light rail that gets them not as fast to a shuttle bus that goes a bit less than 2 miles more to the terminal.

That's because people prefer buses over rail

I find it weird that the buses and trams share the same tunnel

The bell-ringing is getting a little ridiculous and hilarious at the same time. A southbound train was pulling into Westlake and the operator rang at least 10 times, before I made a really big cutting motion across my neck, and she immediately stopped. Whether she was actually was done or saw me, I don't know, but it was still funny. Next operator limited it to four rings. But I think it's time to make it zero.

Seems to me that ringing a bell when a train is alongside a platform full of people is a perfectly valid safety measure...be happy it's not an air horn :P

whats the purpose of the strobe lights on the bus doors? maybe something with sharing the same space with the train?

It's because the side mirrors of the buses overhang the platforms, so people need to be able to see the mirrors as buses approach.

I am impressed Those buses are very low I can see when people board them there are no stairs on them. Is not very smelly in there when there are many buses inside that tunnel? or are those buses electric?

Yes, the floor is low. We also have low floor buses here is Montreal (NovaBus LFS). These ones seem to be Diesel.
