Hi Ladies, I want to tell you about my day. I breakfasted alone, went for a walk alone and then went to look at my Grandchildren. I say look at because that's all I could do and it breaks my heart. No hugging or kissing. Then I switch on my computer and there is a video from you and for 45 minutes I have respite from my grief. I don't know if you realise it but what you do keeps many people sane and I cannot thank you enough x
@mortonlewis100 I just wanted to illustrate to the Ladies how appreciated their video's are x
I agree.. I don't think they realize the escape they provide for so many of us (and not just during this horrible virus) ❤️❤️❤️ Sending love
@@erebusagarista8031 Thank you x
I'm missing my grandbabies too😞
@mortonlewis100 How can you say don't take this virus seriously????? Thousands of people are dying! You're crazy and irresponsible saying rubbish like that
Lol.. reminds me of the time a friend of ours asked to metal detect our property. Our house was built around 1889, so he was excited to detect it. A few days before he got there, my Dad took a hand full of silver dimes and a cultivating fork and salted a patch of ground in the side yard with them. Well, Robert dug them all up and after he left my Dad said best $10 he ever spent. (He had always wanted to put a vegetable garden in there but didn't have the time.)
Dad was

That wasn't a waste of time, there's is the old saying, 'Somtimes the journey is better than the destination ' . Take care and enjoy every day.
LOL Typical big sister, stacking rocks on her brother's head! Excellent editing Alex.
Where there’s a Will there’s a way...
Haha! True in this case
😂🤣 good one
😂🤣😂🤣😂🇩🇰
More of Will please! Loved this episode of lockdown! And the peacocks are too cute!!
Love that your Pea Hen also is looking in the mystery hole! Lovely laughter was wonderful to share when we saw it!
I love your Swoos I used to pal around with a peacock. He belonged to a neighbor but he liked our place better. Love your videos.
Pal around with a peacock! You don't hear those words often. 😂
“WE did it” We? Will did it you mean. 😂 I could hear the disappointment in Alex’s voice, think we all wanted a cauldron or something. I love how the peacocks follow you everywhere like dogs. 😂 Loving this series as much as your regular mudlarking. X
After you find your treasure, run your detector over the spot again to make sure there wasn't more than one item.
yeah, i hope they went over the whole pile they dug out above the steering wheel before they filled it back in :)
I agree. You may find the jars under those lids and who knows what might be in them.
A coin from 1979. Gail: “So it’s quite old.” Me: 1979 seems like yesterday. That is two years after I graduated from high school.
Lol, I thought the same thing although I graduated in 71!
I actually did graduate from high school in 1979. 😄👍
1978, here.
I don't know why Will doesn't want to be filmed, he's a cutie pie. Enjoyed every moment of metal detecting with you. Thank you, Alex, for the history behind the objects, fascinating. Until next time, stay Blessed, Safe and Healthy.
That was a great video ladies, and what a marvellous place to sit out the lockdown! Those cheeky wee birds always make me chuckle with their antics.
Gail and Alex it is always a joy to watch you two. You bring light to my day. When you said the year for the coins being 1979 I laughed because that is the year I was born. Lots of love and blessings to you both.
If it is not too intrusive it would be nice to hear about the history of your farmhouse and the general area around your home. You mentioned that a Peel Tower might have been on your property have you discovered anything else? Take care🌈
Agreed!
Yes great idea!
Will is very handsome! It was nice of him to help.
My little brother is also way taller than me. He even tells me he's my big brother 😆
same with my twin brother... and we were only born 12 minutes apart!
Love it!! Steering wheel. Thank you Will for helping to dig! No time wasted digging! It was lockdown, so much fun. Gorgeous cover photo of you lovely 3, but the schwoo peaking in also, decadent frosting on the cake!
Awesome day...thanks for sharing! Blessings
It is endlessly fascinating to see what will come out of the ground. I don't know why, but I find it mesmerising. What fun!
That was fun! Nice to meet the son/brother! My Grandma would of said of him “He is a tall drink of water!” Stay well!
You know what I'm a Turkish Cypriot and we have a saying " bir içim su" when talking about someone who is good looking which means a nice glass of water.!!! Goes to show hey.!!! Lol
House and land owner 100 years ago
" I'm sick of this car I'm tearing it up and burying all the parts all over my property!"
Wife says, "u bury them deep! I dont want no tractor digging em up"
Husband, " dont worry, only an idiot would dig that deep"
Meanwhile during coronavirus lockdown
" hey lets dig up the yard" says the current land owner, is that a car part?
Hahahahahahaa
There’s no bad treasure as long as the journey to get there was an adventure. Thank you for the history lesson on the items too.
Always a pleasure to go along for the journey.
Happy digging!❤️
A steering wheel! Thanks Will. So fun watching you have fun. What a lovely family Gail.
Haha Alex's "little" brother lol he's camera shy. 🤣👍
The cover photo is absolutely adorable! I love the peahens!
You should metal detect over the hill where you found the bottle dump.
You could make a huge dream catcher out of the steering wheel.
Love your music. It’s always so uplifting. Please keep on with such music.
Funny, I own a Ronson lighter somewhat similar, I inherited it from my grandfather.
Oh that’s cool a carpet ball. Never heard of it before.
Some birds only pick one person. Quakers are like that. At least ours was.
Ah great fun and lovely to meet your brother/son.
The Swoos are so adorable!!!
To Mother Mudlark, I have to tell you that it is Amazing how your Giant Birds followed you to the Mud Hole and watched you as you dug up the round object. They were keeping you safe. My Mother used to take walks around the neighborhood and her Beautiful Cat Minnie would follow her all the way to make sure she got Home. I remember as a Young Girl I dug up a Horseshoe in our Backyard. California Loves You, 🐒🎶🧜♀️BellaDonna
Loved the way you wore a tricorn hat with no explanation. I had high hopes for buried treasure at that point!
first thing in the morning, eating breakfast, obeying stay home and watching you having fun.
Thank you young gentleman for helping the Ladies.
It's very beautiful to see the united family working together

Love your videos. Would you do a video on all your food, herbs, animals and nature around your land? I’m in love with the area
I love the birds!! Darn it!! Ya just never know.
Thank you for the lovely history to the objects! Love the birds and cat and wildlife that makes an appearance - they really steal the show sometimes, don't they? They deserve a spotlight, too. ;-) Enjoy exploring your property more, and stay safe!
nothing ventured ,nothing gained folks.it could have just as easily been a stargate portal
Love those birds and how you talk
So pumped to see this mystery item!! Yes!
Lovely, and nice to meet Will, tell him he is perfectly photogenic. The Ronson was similar to the type my dad used to have, interestingly he was a Sherman Tank driver in WW2 and drove his tank up Gold Beach on D Day and all the way to Bremerhaven in Germany. The soldiers used to call the Sherman a Ronson as they easily caught fire and Ronson's catch phrase in advertising was "Lights first time every time", so it was interesting in the advert you found that it depicted a Sherman type tank, bit sick. The Germans called them "Tommy Cookers"! Lovely couple of days exploring with you, the value of the finds is irrelevant, the search is everything and the additional filming of your home was so good. Loving your channel.
Such an awesome family. Keep up the great videos!
Best quote s of the episode.."Horrid birdie.." and "Oh no, the wheel blew away..." :-D
Thank you ladies I love your enthusiasm it's infectious. I'm rooting for you to find a crock of gold jewels & silver. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us
Your videos are my quarantine happiness! Thanks!
Just loved how Will and the shwoo's joined you! Loved your piggie find! So cool!
Perhaps you could've stuck the metal detector in the hole before you filled it in?
Thanks for digging up the steering wheel. Now we have to find the crest of the vehicle....
I’m estonian and we were freed from slavery just about 200 years ago, so there’s not much history, also almost never as cool finds. I love that you share your journey, I have been researching more about history thanks to You! Also went to hunt seaglass. You motivated me to take up a cool hobby.
The thumbnail has me laughing I love the edited in bird
So enjoying exploring your garden with your metal detector.homebound to find treasure !!!
great video lots of fun nice to get to do a bit of metal detecting done 😀
Awesome, at least you’re not bored and are outside in the sun and you found treasures 👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Your resident ghost might be looking for all his lost lighters. Never got over it.
It's just so nice to be able to watch something like this after a boring day... can't wait to see more! Also, Will is cute👀
The dirt clod reveals were super satisfying to watch! One of the mystery items looks a heck of a lot like a selector knob from an appliance.
Thanks! Lovely sunny day and lovely country side! I love that massive tree......🙂💗
Your yard is so beautiful. I love your attention to nature while filming, the daffodils were especially lovely. Peace
Hey Alex.... You did find gold!!! Every coin you find turned into a necklace... l know about 30,000 of your NEW FRIENDS that would love a lucky penny from their favorite mudlarks!💖 Stay safe stay happy😆
Cannot way for you to convince Will to make the duo a trio. I sense that he would add a welcome element to the videos! Especially if Alex and Will do little pranks and jokes like with the rocks on the head. It had me smiling remembering times with my own brother!
I'll tell you about the Mansion Floor polish, back in the The Day ('60's) we had a playroom with quarry-tiled floor and us kids on a Saturday morning had to polish it. 1st a layer of red Mansion wax would be applied - very messy, which was then left to dry. Once it was dry we put old shirts on our feet to take off that damp layer, then we'd put on worn-out jumpers over our shoes and had great fun skating all over the floor to bring up the shine. Actually the best fun to be had cleaning! You forgot to tell us about the carpet bowls, that was a cute find. I have a notion to get pocket change, and some of my odd coins from US, UK & Dubai and scatter them over the garden and paddocks - just to give future treasure hunters a cheap thrill and get them scratching their heads! The old toys are often worth something as a commentary on a moment in time, if nothing else - people certainly collect old Dinky, Corgi & Matchbox vehicles... Worth preserving. 😎😻🐶👍🦘🐾
Small Wonda enjoy your story of the Mansion Polish, happy childhood memories!
@@alicekeene7165 Thank you - my Brothers & Sisters did used to enjoy that chore - I can see them now, dragging each other around by their old sweaters... Can't figure out how I'm (old?!) here!! Take care... 🐾🦘👍
6:42 the reveal! Haha awesome!
Haha! What an anticlimax!
@@NorthernMudlarks haha noooo, its the adventure in finsing treasure!! I loved it
The Pea hens took a front row seat. They are enjoying the show
awwww yay !!!!! Making hibiscus tea from the flowers I collected on my walk , then I'm gonna cuddle up w the pup and watch ❤️
Sounds great! Hope you enjoy it! x
I have a little hibiscus. I didn’t know I could make tea from it!
@@magickmoi1261 You make tea from the dried flowers. It is somewhat of a diuretic which can slightly lower blood pressure. I enjoy the cranberry-like tart flavor, and usually add a little honey.
I found this on the internet on F.Moore:
Improved Fastening Technology
By the late 1800s, Birmingham was the center of all industrial enterprise. However, the production of cuff links and studs also occurred in the colonies, France, and the United States. Firms such as George West, Greaves' Patent, W. E. Riley and Sons, the French F. Moore, and the U.S.-based Baer and Wilde improved fastening technology and competed for a share of the lucrative accessory market. Accordingly, advertisements promoted function and style, longevity, and decorative appeal.
Geart vid ladies, such a lovely place to live and lovely to share your space with all your feathered friends. Great job.
Greetings from South Carolina, USA. I enjoy watching your adventures!
Glad you like them! x
@Joe McKnight What part of South Carolina are you from? My son Andrew is a Marine stationed at MCAS Beaufort. I live in New Bern, in eastern North Carolina, about a six hour drive north of Beaufort.
I’m shouting at the screen “gollywogs”!
Yeah, definitely GOLLYWOG! Before we were told we had to be ridiculously PC about such stupid things. 😢
Hold on there.1979 is quite old? That's when I graduated high school. Love your accents Ladies. Fellow detectorist from Wisconsin USA saying Hello.
What a great video! Nice to meet Will and he did a great job digging out the wheel 😁 Excellent finds throughout the fields.
Thank you☮️🇨🇦
Circle with rectangle on top may be the lid to a military compass. You open sideways to view. Wheel 😁who knows. All yard finds are treasures. Enjoyed the time to watch. Blessings
Just loved your video I love your Birds
Thank you Alex for your quite informative explanations as usual. And your brother 😍 Will is quite the handsome young man. Nice to see 👀another family member. Greetings from Colorado USA🇺🇸
There's a fella called rob ,on you tube "matchbox makeovers " who could restore that Land rover for you ,make a great video for you both
Yes, please have Rob restore it, a great crossover RUclips adventure!
I have also seen matchbox makeovers channel before and was thinking the exact same thing when Alex and Gail dig up their Corgi Land Rover! It would definitely be worth thinking about, and to be able to see it restored 👍🏻
Wonderful adventure thank you!
Love your videos! Entertaining and informative! Love watching your pea hens following you around everywhere is so much fun. Little Gremlin the cheeky quaker, quite the opinionated feather kid. Keep posting ladies! You're country is so beautiful. 😍
I found a true treasure when I came across your RUclips channel! I love your finds and their bit of history. Your crafting is lovely and so skillful thank you so much for your skills!
Thank you so much! xx
Wow! What interesting things you are finding just in your own backyard. Lots of coins you've been finding. I enjoy watching your video with your animals and love the music.

Best live treasure hunt on RUclips this week hun. Don't apologise, you're awesome. Thankyou. Good dig, lark, finding xxx
Will has a lovely accent 🥰
The threepence was from my birth year! How cool! 1957
Hi Girls,
You’re right it’s a series two Land Rover from the 50s/60s great video’s keep safe from your northern neighbour on the river Mersey.
Kind Regards Nick
I bet if you look up an old map, it would show the original buildings on the property. You could find the carriage house that way. With the fine cut stone entrance way, that house should have a carriage house of some sort. Too bad that wasn't a cauldron filled with gold.
Have you ever watched The Detectorists? You'd love it, only 3 seasons.
A wonderful show!!
I love your treasure hunting videos.this was fun. stay safe.
How exciting to find treasure in your own backyard!
The Landrover toy 109, would be 10 foot 9 inch long base distinguishing it from other models. Gorgeous filming as usual, and lovely to meet Phil, and all your pets. Great research, and history lesson, you are a natural reporter ! A real pleasure during our lockdown. 🌍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🌍
Even if they aren’t shiny treasures, it’s still so much fun to see the finds and imagine how they got there! Like how would that wheel have ended up so deep out there? Coming from a place where our backyard is full of nothing but rocks (it was former cornfields) in the Midwest US, it’s so cool to see all the history your property has hidden on it!
Most likely the water from the creek brought it there, it got stuck and stayed. Through the years of ever changing water flows and silt, is how it wound up on the 'bank',
Whoo who I finally caught you as one of the first 10 to view! I love you ladies si very much. You brighten my day. Being stuck inside, it's so very nice seeing your out of doors!
Yay! Thank you! xx
I love the smell of Metholatum - very soothing and a lot like Olbas oil or Vick's.
You guys have such a beautiful old property
I love your adventures, you folks seem to be the kind of people I would love to hang out with.
We love your channel ....love that you have adapted to the lock down...great work ! Camera and editing and transition cut scenes are awesome. The cheeky pea hens are fun...Gremlin is just jealous . Thank you again Kim and Trev on the left coast of Canada Eh ! 👏👍☺
