Mario's jump was a gimmick, one that went as far as to create an undying genre of games
You’re a gimmick!!
@@Link-ek3iw life is a gimmick. I mean if it weren't for that Big Bang Update we wouldnt have generations of gimmicks that MAKE more gimmicks.
this video (ruclips.net/video/jvGlA6B_OYc/видео.html) is a gimmick
@referral madness Pitfall invented the sidescroller in 1982, where the player is given a choice to move forward or backward and progress to the next screen at will. Donkey Kong came out in 1981, and involved platforming on the elevator stage.
@referral madness Yeah, pick axe pete was pretty cool. Space Panic was kinda like load runner.

Except the Nintendo Switch "X" years in, because they age like fish dookie. You hear him say how in the Direct, Paper Mario Origami looks like it was a return to the original with also fresh new mechanics, but then it actually turned out to have the most lifeless bosses, generic NPCs and the new mechanic is weird and pointless. I'm not saying Scatt is to be blamed, I'm saying it's sad to know what future Scatt will be hit with. On that subject, I met 2035 Scatt in a dream, and he told me Nintendo finally got around to 60fps and 4k in 2032. Also, future Scatt is married to a hamster who is the first female president of Nintendo. Reggie Fils-Aime having been killed in-office by a rampaging mob of Pokemon fans who were fed up when, in 2025, EA released FIFA '21, after modding the players to look like Pokemons, and saying it was a brand new, non-soccer Pokemon AAA title.
Also, 2035 Scatt is WAY into RPGs, especially anime RPGs. They're practically all he plays.
That intro was so well done, awesome work dude :)
I too love watching videos that open up to footage of an erect dick flying through space.

I’ve literally just shown my leg and the same thing happened to me
same thing with: standing still, doing random crap and putting the box art for minecraft in front of the camera
sometimes if u do it in a large group, it'll somehow detect people that arent even moving and they end up getting better scores than people actually dancing
I thought initially that the Wii U was literally a tablet add on to the Wii because I didn’t pay attention that much to the release of the console. Luckily I gave it a chance and it was one of the most fun and interesting consoles I’ve used. At least Nintendo is trying new things. And it brought about the Switch so I can’t be mad.
I loved my WiiU
The Wii U is an okay system with a great library of games.
It's too bad so few games used the second screen... at all, really, let alone effectively.
I liked the wiiu, too. I'm one of the only people who thinks so out of my friends. The only title everyone agrees on is really good and makes good use of the second screen is splatoon. I have the second one for the switch and I just feel like something is missing...
I agree with all of that, if only the gamepad was optional and it was marketed right
The dream of the Wii U is alive in the Switch. There's rumors of a docked only Switch Pro model and as the platform ages the number of multi-switch households will only grow. I could definitely see dual screen gaming being emphasized in the future of the switch.
Nintendo do love gimmicks however with the switch i think they did really well, they got the right balance.
Also
Blowing on the ds was so annoying i felt werid in public m
sunsbookishgamesx well every ds before the 3ds has i guess a bug were if you hold your finger on the mic it reacts like you are blowing like a hurricane. I used that to beat everyone at mario party years ago
I already do it to blow off dust from the screen, so it wasn't too weird for me.
I rather blow a Nintendo cartridge than blowing a 3DS
I don't think that holding your finger on the DS mic is as much of a glitch as how it detects the sound.
I cut them a lot of shit cause that saved the industry but too much of something is as beneficial as it can be detrimental

Gosh, it's weird to imagine people being in high school 2004. That's the year I was born, and I know a lot of existentialism can come from the fact that older generations realize that time has passed, and I'm sure I'll get there eventually, but to me it feels so weird that there was a whole bunch of people here just living their lives before I was born.
@@tiktik-ks4pg yea for someone like you the 80s or 90s must seem ancient lol. The crazy thing is how little things change and how fast time goes. @@tiktik-ks4pg A lot of existentialism indeed my friend. If I think about it hard enough it feels like just yesterday I was 19ish like you. A lot of firsts were coming my way. Trying weed, drinking, getting laid, what a fun time the late teens/early twenties is.

Actually, the Power Glove was supposed to be good! Prototype versions were better than the final product and used far more advanced technology, however it would’ve costed thousands of dollars. So they cheapened it down and used more primitive technology, which eventually led to the Power Glove we know and hate today.
Too bad they were just jerking off
No ur just wrong
The more advanced gloves u mention were out there, but Nintendo didn't plan to use them as a baseline, because the power glove wasn't made by Nintendo it was made by Mattel, who bought the writes to use the concept from the creator of the Z-Glove... neither Nintendo or Mattel had a plan to produce anything other than what they produced. And while it wasn't a critical success, it was definitely a commercial success. With e production cost of around $23 million, after a VERY successful launch, they made upwards of $60 million.
“Love”
@@noahramos1768 Well you're wrong four times. One, the designer had the only gloves - there weren't more "out there". Two. Rights, not writes. Three, Dataglove, not Z-Glove, which is a compression sports clothing company. Four, it grossed $90, not $60, nearly a 50% increase according to How Stuff Works. NumberOne#1 That game could've been just if they used gyro assisted aiming as a option only

Super fun in co-op / Unplayable in singleplayer.
Big Z the gyro aiming wasn’t the issue with StarFox Zero, it was the lame dual screen gameplay that really complicated things just make an excuse to use the Wii U pad. I’m still hoping they port it to the switch with “normal” controls, the option for gyro aiming, vs mode, more unlockables, remove that other pack-in game and sell it for $39

I think Nintendo is the only company who can do motion controls well...
TheMarioManiac Are you the new Justin Y. I see you in 60% of the videos I watch (Most notably ibxtoycat), or maybe I'm just a huge Nintendo geek like you lol

TheMarioManiac Forgets about Oculus, Htc and Lenovo
FirePork08 but the motion controls are never needed. All they do is slightly enhance Mario's move set but it doesn't add any new moves. The only thing you can't do without motion controls is do the Cappy homing attack thing.
Zenthic Epic. Yes I know that. But the whole point I made was that they don't require motion controls to do. Motion Controls only enhance Mario's move set (by making them more efficient) by doesn't add anything to his move set except for the homing attack.
0:23 The Tv Teleports from left to right
I think the gimmick that most surprised me was the wii's motion tracking. As a 12 year old kid, I was shocked by how much fun the bundled wii sports game was with a new way to interact with a console. I remember my dad playing the bowling game with me, and even seeing grown businessmen go out an buy a wii just to have a little fun with those games. Nintendo takes a lot of risks, and some of them aren't really ready given the technology available at the time, but it also means that I've never felt like I've outgrown their games despite over 15 years flying by from my first gameboy. Keep it up, Nintendo!

The Wii U gamepad is actually really cool for Call of Duty games because you can play local multiplayer with one person on the tv and one person with their own screen it's sooo nice tbh
Agree
But it was as tiny as fuck
The term was (incorrectly) used mainly to try and damage the Wii's reputation because it basically exploded Nintendo back to the top of the gaming industry again, and Sony fans were very upset about that. The term gimmick, prior to the Wii, typically referred to characters in the hip-hop industry: example: Eminem, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Eazy E, many of them pretending to be gangsters and involved in murder. The term was also used in pro-wrestling with a very similar meaning to the hip-hop industry.
But if you're going to suggest that the Wii put Nintendo back five years, you are SORELY mistaken. The Wii did quite the opposite, it blew a hole in Sony's domination of the market, and disrupted the market in a very positive way. It also saved Nintendo from going the way of the Dreamcast.
Motion controls weren't a gimmick, they were a interface; that's something different. A gimmick is more along the lines of "Blast Processing" or the "64" on all the N64 games, rather than an interface like motion controls, touch screens, or d-pads. It's similar to how gamers use the term "casual" all wrong, and effectively use it to mean "lame" instead of what the term was actually coined to mean - games like Brain Age and Fire Emblem Heroes where you play for very short sessions, but continue playing the game for months or years.
Seekarr everything you said was full of shit
It put nintendo behind by being geared toward people who didn't care about gaming and giving the impression that there platform wasn't for gamers and by being too underpowered to run comparable versions of multi plats which turned away a lot of third partys especially when that version often sold worse with the exception of casual titles like just dance which further turned away the kinds of people who will consistently buy consoles.
As a result even with the switch doing well third partys are very reluctant to develop seriously for it because the wii did well and their games didn't sell well their since most of the people who bought it just played casual games and didn't care about anything else or if they did they got a console that could handle the other stuff.
Also casual doesn't mean "lame" it refers to depth. For instance even though a lot of people enjoyed it temple run is a casual game since all there is to it is swiping when an obstacle is coming up to avoid it; there's no depth or challenge to it and it's designed more as a destraction than a game. Brain age and FE mobile are like that as well.
They are admittedly lame to a lot of people who are passionate about gaming since there's not much depth to them and in the case of brain age it's little more than a digital version of something you can get in a convenience store. If you're not into the vast experiences video games can offer and just want a conveniant puzzle compelation there's nothing wrong with enjoying something like BrainAge but if you are looking for all that it probably won't do much for you.
CoWinkKeyDinkInc Did you stop to use your brain or...?
I know right? it seems that people cannot still get over the fact that the wii was a huge hit without the need of HD graphics. Bfore wii's success the word gimmick and casual were hardly used.
Not to mention that these days, almost two generations later, pretty much all current controllers have gyros in them so that developers can implement motion controls. I wonder how long it will take before motion controls become an expected feature much like rumble or the analogue stick did before it.

I actually quite liked the second screen in Star Fox Zero. Or at least, I liked the game in multiplayer. In multiplayer one player control the TV and flies the Arwing, and player 2 uses the gamepad to aim and fire. It was great fun to play with my brother that way.
Just Another RUclips Channel the multiplayer is good because of that, but imagine having to do both jobs simultaneously, and you get the single player experience. It’s annoying to constantly have to look down at the screen and not be able to see incoming attacks, which is why the 2 player is so much better
Sajan Patel Honestly I played in 1 player as well, but I don’t really remember it. I don’t remember it being bad, but I don’t remember it being as good as the 2 player. The thing is though, I played far more multiplayer with my brother which is probably why I remembered it more. I can easily see why both jobs at once would be awful though.
How many times are you going to comment on the same video?
