Technically those side scoops first appeared on the 1999 35th anniversary model (the true anniversary car) and the 2000 Spring Feature Mustang. Most 99-00 Mustangs and all 01+ V6 models got the small scoops like your original scoop and the 01+ GT/Mach and Cobra got the bigger scoops you swapped to. The 03/04 Cobra had a different grill insert inside the scoop (slats rather than honeycomb). 2001 Bullitt cars got unique scoop delete panels that were different from any other Mustang _+@@Horus_Works
Use a good quality 2K clear with the hardener in a rattle can and your paint will hold up much better.. Eastwood and Spraymax are two pretty good ones.. although I'm unsure if they are allowed in Australia.
Do you know where to get replacement clips if you break or lose them? Not sure if the dealer would still carry those and if they did probably want an arm and a leg.
I'd start on eBay, and look for a seller that dismantles mustangs. Contact them and send a pic of what you're looking for. You may get lucky and find a dealer who still stocks the clips, but they will charge you the cost of rent for the building they occupy to get a couple of clips.
We don’t see many Mustangs here in East Sussex, so apologies if it’s a stupid question… but why does a front engined car have side vents behind the doors? Is it cosmetic frippery?
@@Horus_Works Thought as much, but I do wonder why they put actual holes in the metal though... only to then cover them over with flimsy plastic sheets. Bonkers!🙄
@@andrewhudson7481 yeah I found that weird as well... I can only think that maybe they needed to reach in there for assembly (I did see a bolt in there), or maybe these are functional on a different model Mustang - but I'm just taking wild guesses here...
@@Horus_Works damn my dude, rip your wallet, if it is of any consolation, know that the ford commodore was never sold here so the only ones here are imported and they go for 100k usd for a crappy one and up to 250k for a pristine one; people say the r34 has the jdm tax? Its always good to watch your work. So simple yet outstanding results.
Thank you very much!
All around a good job. I would be more careful about the potential overspray and where it lands.
Thanks I appreciate that - hope you sub and stick around 🙂👍
Nice step-by-step procedure and good info on how to prepare the scoops! So good!
Thanks so much!
Nice work!!
Thanks my man, I appreciate you saying so. More Mustang vids here if you're interested 👍

Good to know. Thanks for posting.
The style scoop you installed came on 2001-1/2 to 2004 mustangs. GT, Cobra, Mach-1, Bullitt etc.
You did a great job. Looks good.
Awesome, thanks for letting me know Mark, appreciate it!

You've got it mate - just cosmetic shenanigans.

Thanks legend!
👍👍👍
Snazzy!😊
Thanks!
lol I want your old vents
I have the old Cobra vent tucked away in a safe place for when I get bored of these 😄
"Leave it as is, they'te worth more!"
Lmao here in Mexico they sold so much new edges you can get a cobra one for less than 5k on a good day😅
I wish they did the same here... parts are impossible to find, lol. These are not cheap here, and only rising 😀
