Tika means - That which is absolutely correct in the ritual of the Spiritual Dimension of Te Ao Maori. - Nga - is the plural form of The -Those- That ( Understanding that Te is the singular form of the above explanation. ) When speaking in a philosophical ideology perspective pertaining to the world of Maoridom TIKANGA only applies to the principals of the Wairua dimension headed by Io-Matua-Kore. - Te Kauwae Runga ( Ngati-Maniapoto version)

Tikanga is doing what is "right" in Maori eyes. Customary correctness!. It has nothing to do with Law and Order for a modern multicultural society. Rights and obligations under the law for an ordered society. Its just folk LORE!!
