  • If you think about opening your JBL Pulse 2 Speaker, then you better watch this video before you do it.
    I explain how to open it, and how to take it apart. Are you able to get it back together? I am not sure, but see for yourself.
    All the RGB LED's in there, and the amount of screws used in the speaker make it pretty expensive. Think twice before you break it!

    I hope everyone is aware of what happens, when you poke the battery by accident?

    Thank you so much for this video. I will probably not even bother taking mine apart now. Like others have said too, I have taken apart a lot of electronics, but this is ridiculous.

    Nice video overall; very educational. Multiple camera angles would have helped much. Just moving from front to top view would have helped. The wide-angle reduces a lot of detail unless you've got a large monitor and are using an HD stream. Thank you for contributing, of course.

    It seems like JBL has learned allot from the pulse 2 to the pulse 3. The pusle 3 seems to be much more serviceable compared to the older model. The pusle 3 is more modular instead of being all glued together like this one.

    my speaker has lost tts light... there is no light coming except those battery indications and switch lights. those led strips are not working what would be the probable reason ? the battery is not not charging properly. if i plug usb it works for 15 mins and then turns off. suggest me what would be the possible defects and what to do?

    Holy crap, are you kidding me?!?
    I took a lot of stuff apart, but this is ridiculously difficult. Why don't they just dip the entire thing in hot glue or even better that black goop...

    How did you take the rubber that covers the buttons off? Do you have to heat it up first? It's really stuck in there. I m struggling with it because the rings on both sides were glued tight. =[
    Thanks for the video btw. I am in the process of trying to replace the broken micro usb port and this has helped.

      Jamison Just pull hard, I didn't have to heat it up.

    You make it look way easier than it is. I already destroyed one of the rubber rings and the outer cover won't come off. I suspect I'm going to destroy it or injure myself trying to follow your instructions. Oh well. Thanks for posting. I'll keep trying even if I destroy it. It would go in the trash otherwise. Edit: It went in the trash.

      well, i said it at the beginning of the video: opening that speaker is not for the faint of heart. Sorry you destroyed yours. The newer models are way better to take apart.

      @@mygiguser I hate to say it but I saw a couple of other videos after yours and they were totally successful. I guess you were a bit too early to try this terrible fix.

    • @peetiegonzalez1845
      @peetiegonzalez1845 3 года назад +1

      @@mygiguser Not blaming you since clearly it was your first attempt, and you destroyed yours... but you might want to mention there are better tutorials out there that show the whole process on a previously unopened device that are much less destructive. I wish I'd watched a few different ones before making my attempt.

      I had the same issue. You need to update the firmware on the speakers via the JBL App.

      Try to go to a cellphone repair shop. They sometimes repair this kind of stuff. Or better call the JBL support, and ask how much the repair is.

      Actually, JBL (in the USA at least) does not offer service for their bluetooth speakers. They will replace them if you can prove they are under warranty but if not, you are on your own.
      As of 2017, there is a listing on ebay for someone that offers replacement service.

      MegaSafetyFirst Well, I ordered a second one on EBay, because I wanted to show how to play both at the same time, but it was not working. As I took it apart, I realized, that nothing could be done to fix it. Should I send it back? What do you think?

    • @MegaSafetyFirst
      @MegaSafetyFirst 7 лет назад

      Cool, I didn't know you can play two at the same time. How does that work?
      Sure, dip it in glue and then send it back. They won't be able to tell the difference :D

    I will never buy any JBL products. Bought a brand new JBL pulse 2 and it failed after 2 weeks. I can't pair it anymore with any devices, when I press on bluetooth button the litghs just start flickering and it does not respond. Tried to reset and upgrade firmware but it does not work. Waste of money :(

      I'm with you. I got to step 3 where he "gently removes" the covering all down the front, and mine won't budge. I'm either going to destroy this thing or give myself an injury trying to get it apart.
