- First part of the build of a lightweight truck canopy / camper. Not going to show the building of the camper since there are many other videos that show this. My goal with this series is to let viewers in on the materials, dimensions, why I built the way I did versus the traditional slide in camper, and the results of such.
very good your videos. I'm building a camper and the information is very important.
Looks good so far, I like your thought process
I'll definitely follow along with your build. I'm really interested in seeing the finished product. I have a slide-in tub camper that I just removed from my 2014 tacoma. It's too heavy and the tub doesn't allow for very much space. I'm interested in building something like this. 👍
Excellent. I will have some more videos up soon. With the winter weather I haven't been able to move as quick as I hoped. The details for making the door, and the electrical, have been taking awhile.
@@jackmalory3698 Thanks for documenting your awesome build, it turned out quite nice!
I'm thinking of building the same except I'm gonna use plywood with no framing and I'm thinking of using angle iron or a 2x8 to extend the sides wider so I can sleep horizontally
This one is wide enough to sleep horizontally. So is my second one, made of rigid foam insulation, with even less framing, and 120 pounds lighter.
Good idea.
