docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YMVsloDcqDGBSBmZoCX3Do3i3T3qwJe6Nk9vejyreQk/edit#gid=1326087543 there might be small differences (order of spells to choose) but it is the version I used in my playthrough and was good.
Those builds are a god send, you are inbmy opinion the only one one this platform who can deliver highly effective build who can still maintain a sense of identity. Thank you a lot.
I like making Jaethal into a cleric because with selective channel she can constantly channel negative energy to keep herself healed while harmong everything else. Also she can double as a healer, so that's nice.
I was thinking about making this build for the theme, then I looked more into the kit and saw just how crazy it could get. I particularly like how it lets her use mind altering effects on undead that are normally immune. It isn't super helpful, but it could be early on.
Yeah, true, it is mostly 25 min of me doing: "yyyy..."; "mmm..."; "ok, ..." and one advice to make her a Sorcerer :) I should do a TL;DR next time (but shouldn't it be TL;DW or TL;DL here?)
Thanks for this build idea -this definitely makes Jaethal more effective in eliminating enemies from range in the mid to late game. As well as better defense.
True strike only works on the next attack, so extend doesn’t do any good. A lesser mm rod of quicken is likely a better option than the feat if you’re only using it for true strike. I don’t know if empower and maximize work the same way they do in PnP, but if so, they would combine with enervation to do 5 or 6 negative levels, rather than a guaranteed 6. Outflank might be an interesting alternative to quicken, as every time a ray crits your team gets a free AoO. Other than those minor notes, this is rad, and looks like quite a bit of fun to play.
Thank You for watching with such attention, and thanks for the great feedback. Do You mean Outflank (+4 hit when flanking) or Seize the Moment (getting a hit when crit), because I think the Seize the Moment is a great idea, I always forget about those feats as I like to have a very small team? The Extend + True strike is a thing in the Owlcat adaptation and only wares off if You perform an attack, but casting a ray is not that:) (In my playthrough it did work great!). Empower + maximize here always did 6 levels in multiple tests, so I assume it is a guaranteed 6. The quicken feat is to make the spell level 5 slots be useful, as I don't find to many great spells there.
It’s taken me four days of character builds restarting to finally be able to cheese the initial prologue. Now I’m at olegs keep and I’m going to model her on your advice. She’s really a very confusing build, I don’t really see any true pros having her around, despite her cool backstory and appeal. Maybe the Inquisitor class is just a bit “eh”. Yeah it would be nice to see more character respecs! Ie what’s the best sub classes for each character too... I’ve worked out that Valerie can work as a Bard too, which is nice, because Linzi didn’t stick around in the intro ;)
@@hudsonsirheshicks2653 sorcerer is nice class to have especially in early game when the class still not much leveled up, it is pretty broken class tbh with metamagic and wide spell to choose from it has many way to literally break the game. Problem with sorcerer is they are late game bloomer they usually mediocre and awful at the beginning like one good critical hit and they just bite the dust. 🤣
ok i like this and i think i have figured out how to write the spells... see i came to this from never ever having played anything magic based in either DnD nor Pathfinder before so i was super confused at first on what the heck you where talking about with extend this and empower that. I'm just guessing how the hell it all works for now. I love the video and i will be watching more of your stuff now when i have gotten used to the accent. Only detail i would wish for is for you to have spent the 30 seconds extra showing us how to write the spells. Great video over all tho thank you.
Thank You for all kind words, it is great to know what I can improve in future so also thank You for all the feedback. I've noticed that a lot of people struggle with Meta magic, so maybe creating a short video about that maybe a good idea :)
@@StratosOnline well if you do you might as well toss in the wands in that the meta magic types. I'm only lvl 8 in the game so she still needs a lil bit more work to really start kicking but if i understand the written build correctly. However i still feel like i got no clue on how to actually use her right now and frankly lvl 20 is such a short part of the game it's nearly irrelevant to me. I tend to just attack everything in melee since i don't have the wands. I understand that people want to see the end result so to have something to long for right... but every build video does that. What about us plebs still leveling up ya know. Anyway i hope to catch some more of yer vids and builds as my time allows.
Yeah, Jaethal is a late bloomer here, but I mostly used her to cast Haste, Displacement, Animate Dead, or block something running after my other caster, till level 12-13. She can cast offensive spells (like Magic Missile, Boneshaker, Scorching Ray), but my other party member were better at that (on low levels), so she did that only once she cast all the buffs. On important info, I rest quite often as that is mandatory on Unfair difficulty while playing with casters. Also, if You have any questions You can let me know will try to reply or drop by on my twitch stream some time and I will be happy to talk about P:K all the time, regardless what I'm playing currently :)
Sorcerer is great class if you play around with bloodline and tinkering with spell my celestial sorcerer have like 49 AC it can be much more if you focus all equipment to her it is easily top that throw mirror image and others she can be unstoppable even without other support buff it is insane and powerful sorcerer class is. Celestial bloodline also have build up evocation AOE so they are very good for mass battle for CC and empowering allies you basically can run party with no cleric or crusader. As for Jaethal running her with sorcerer is almost godlike, other companion also have interesting class they can truly shine but I leave that to each and everyone of you to tinker with that, you can achieve broken things from many angle so no build is the right one it is depend on how you play and how you feel about it.
Thanks for a great comment! I agree the Sorc is excellent class (had fun playing it). For other companions I split them in 2 groups: good companions that make also great part members (for e.g. Jaethal), and those that are just gimped custom companions with story (like Harrim :) ). But since for me Min Max > RPG elements I'm playing that game wrong for any other difficulty then Unfair :P
Thanks, glad You like it. For Nok Nok I had a build for my playthrough: shorturl.at/jyAO3 . It is not polished as Jaethal but can give a direction (If You don't want that much tankies You can change the 4 levels of SS to rogue for more damage - I wanted Mirror image and over 55 AC :) ) What I played is Nok Nok with 8 or 9 attack with all doing sneak. In the beginning, if You find it too squishy, let him use crossbow, and he will do decent sneaks anyhow.
Sounds a bit like an oversight in the coding. AFAIK, critical hits are only supposed to multiply HP damage, not other types of damage (eg. negative levels, ability damage/drain, etc.). So more of an exploit; this may get patched out in a future update (if it hasn't already) so be careful relying on it because you might find the rug pulled out from under you unexpectedly.
Not that sure about it, You can find info like: "If an attack that includes an energy drain scores a critical hit, it bestows twice the listed number of negative levels." So that is not that clear in Table Top. The build idea comes from the table-top version of Pathfinder, so it can work there. For the PC version I don't think it will ever get patched as Owlcat is working on the next game already. But yeah valid comment, using any special mechanic in a build comes with a risk it will be nerfed/changed in the future patches
Well dice roll do have rules of special effect if you crit in some games this could be doubling the effects, I mean with just 5% chances you land 20 roll you should be rewarded. Most of times you roll 1 which auto miss lol.
Hey man, awesome build! I was wondering, if we can make use of Jaethal's decent srength to utilize some melee touch spells? Slay living and such... But I gotta admit, I never knew enervate is so damn powerful and that it can crit... This is reaaaaly strong...
Yeah, I was also stunned when I found that that out! I decided that I need to share that so everyone can give it a try. And thanks for a really nice comment, helps to stay motivated.
Didn't plan it yet, but it should work. You get a lot of spell casting power with lich, charisma to hp, undead powers, so probably possible. However, the start of WOTR is so hard on casters that try to do elemental damage, the first 6-8 levels would be horrible I think.
@@jha7623 ok, Sorry for a late reply, I mostly skip the side content of act 1, and always make it in like 60 days, but You can look at indiefaq.com/guides/1119-pathfinder-kingmaker.html to see how to make it in 30 days to get extra reward to see where You can optimize. Hope that helps
I don't get it. Isn't this just a lvel drained sorc with low DC and a bad bloodline? Do the immunities/resistances and HP really matter that much to a sorc? Not saying it won't work on unfair, but arcane casters are so overpowered it's very hard to make them not work...
