Thank you for sharing these so quickly! I ordered Muse and Rain - so excited to try. One thing that you noted that I thought was interesting is that you have to be careful to put this on in an even layer so it doesn’t get patchy and one of Lisa’s main selling points is that you can apply this formula I different ways to achieve different results. I’m looking forward to seeing how these compare to my other velvety matte formulas (if you like Muse, you might also really like the Velvet Lip Cream by Hourglass in Luxe - it’s my all time favorite formula and color for a matte lip!)
I am SO curious about the Rain color!!! Hope you enjoy it!! You can get different results using different techniques, but when I wanted that full opacity I felt the need to be careful to apply it even so it won’t dry too dark on one side.
None of my 20+ lipsticks from Lisa Eldridge has ever broken, despite being dragged around in my handbag and accidentally dropped on the floor. I'v used them since her very first launch! It was interesting to see swatches of the velvets next to the velveteens side by side. I had True Velvet Muse a couple of years ago, and got the Velveteen Muse now - and I did wonder if the color had changed a bit with the new texture...
I wonder if climate has something to do with it. Some of mine broke off the base too. I had also seen people on Reddit complaining about this. Her team is great but I agree after a while you just stop wanting to reach out.
I appreciate your knowledge and ideas. The 'don't rub your lips together because it may get patchy' is such a clear reason why. And your ability to simply yet effectively color combine is also something I've appreciated in multiple videos of yours.

@amber2905 likewise! I have almost all of her velvets which is my fav matte lipstick formula and no breaks at all. I also own all her other lipstick formulas! Absolutely love
I hear half and half from you guys. Half of you say you had no issues half of you say most of yours are broken. I wonder if it’s something to do with different batches and where they come from
Same, I have ALL @lisaeldridge Velvets & I have not had 1 break yet! I usually use her lipsticks as slight stains, blush & as a base for eyeshadow! I’m thankful I have not had breakage because they are spendy!
I don’t like liquid lipstick so I’m hesitant to try these out. Although, Lisa is a makeup Wizard so maybe they will actually be far superior to other liquid lipsticks on the market. I have dry lips & I always get that butthole look to my lips with liquid lipsticks which is why I really don’t tend to put them on.

Yay!!! I’ve been waiting for these. Love Lisa Eldridge lipsticks, and I don’t like that they break easily, so with these liquid ones, I’ll surely get Velvet Fawn, Affair, Muse and possibly Jazz! 🥰

Hearing that others have issues with their Velvet lipsticks makes me feel validated. I have Velvet Dragon and I was applying it like a normal person, no extra pressure or force and it broke. I still have it but it broke my heart because it was a splurge item for me and to only apply it twice and it breaks. Now I am extra gentle.

Great review Tania, thank you very much. Can't wait to receive Ribbon. Have other colors of her lipsticks and two glosses. Velvet Dragon and Morning are my favorite colors so far.... Usually I gravitate towards warm undertones but I ordered her limited color bloom, it's cool toned and looks amazing on me. So I thought I will try ribbon.
I am like you, loving the warm reds, but this color Ribbon is just something else!! Hope you enjoy it❤️

I think the “velvet” texture she put on the side is what’s making the bullet sensitive. It’s almost like it’s scoring the side of the lipstick. Beautiful look! I’m excited to try these.

I ordered Muse, Blush and Rain. They were supposed to be delivered yesterday but the mail mis routed my package😒so it's supposed to be here today. I have been very lucky that none of my Velvets have broken as of yet, I have 12 of them. I tend to baby my makeup, and I don't take them out of the house in my purse when it's hot outside. These will be nice for the summer. Thanks for getting this up so fast❤

Loved this video! Super helpful. Do you prefer the lipstick or this new formula for velvet affair? Do you find the colours slightly different with affair?
The colors are a bit different, but built up they seem similar. I think I like the liquid lipstick more because of how long lasting they are❤️

Truly appreciate your honest review of the lipstick breaking. That will be extremely disappointing.
I have several lipsticks from LE, bought them on different times as well (so not the same manufacturing dates) and none broke. Those are THE BEST lipsticks I have ever ever tried. I use those everyday and have stopped buying any others at all. So I would suggest trying at least one.
I love lisas lipsticks. They never broke on me. The gucci ones broke though but never lisa Eldridge. I have 7 of her lipsticks. Thanks for the review for the matte liquid lipsticks. I am excited to buy them!

What is your thoughts comparing the LE formula to the new charolette tilbury liquid blur?
So these are completely transfer proof and stay ALL DAY LONG. The CT ones transfer on me but they are more hydrating. If I were to choose one it would be the LE ones❤️

For all who are wondering: i only picked the bullet up from my desk, opened the casing and it came out broken at the end of the lipstick. I never put them all up when I'm using them and it's not particularly warm in my flat.. so my trust in the bullet lipsticks is a bit shattered, even though I'm getting it replaced. I'm going to buy Muse, because i like this kind of shade for work and i would love something that lasts for many hours

Unfortunately I’ve also had breakage. I’m SO careful & still some of mine have broke. I actually started using the broken ones as a cream blush. Still,so disappointing!
I’d love to see Ribbon and Dragon together! I want to see what they look like on, compared. I also would love to see a pop of Dragon in the center of Ribbon :)

I agree 💯 about her bullet lipsticks and so many people got theirs replace but I had an issue getting mine. After I sent photos had all the proof that many broke being in a cooling makeup fridge. I said never again would I buy another bullet from her, not at that price. My package came today order two of these hoping I enjoy them.
Hope you enjoy them as well! Yeah, I won’t buy her lipsticks UNLESS there is a color I really really want ( like a perfect nude). I have sorcery from here that I love and it did not break!! So that’s amazing!

it's so interesting that I have completely different problem with most of Lisas nude shades and that is that they are too orange for me, like the Muse your swatch you did on you is so pink but on me it just looks so warm like a beige with yellow undertone because my skin undertone is co extremely cool that even the neutral lip shades are just all too warm for me . I just never expected the difference being that big

i know we shouldnt be worrying because of the price point, but what i do is keep them in the mini fridge during summer, i hope that helps!

They all look beautiful on you!! I don’t think I’m picking any up because they aren’t really my colors. I wish she would do a color like Charlotte Tilbury K.K.W. Lipstick or Gucci shade 101. I’m so into super light lipstick with a medium brown liner such as iconic nude! Lisa’s ‘nudes’ for my liking are too dark

I ❤ LE lipsticks. I have probably the same number as you or more and I have never had one break and several like velvet ribbon I’ve had for years. I keep all my lipsticks upside down so I can easily read the colour. Also, like all my lipsticks I only turn the bullet high enough to apply so less stress is on the lipstick itself. In the liquid formula I ordered ribbon and blush as I want to try out the formula first and I also ordered velvet bloom and the matching lip liner. Can’t wait for them to arrive. I live in Canada so I basically pay double what they are worth and since I have so many I’m more cognizant on how many I purchase at a time. I do hope she comes out with a velveteen in sorcery which is my fave everyday. I will also get jazz in the velveteen formula and probably affair as well if I really enjoy the formula. I love the color Sorcedy so much!!! I do the same with my lipsticks. Never twist them up but a bit and store them safely. I heart A LOT of people having issues with them breaking. I wonder if it’s different shipping areas🤷♀️
I've had the same issue as you. I have around 15-16 Lisa's lipstick and half of them have broken including the insanely saturated Monday Matinee and luxuriously lucent Le Mepris. I bought so many of them because I love the formula and colours so much and they're the only ones I've been using when I have so many other high end lipstick and none of them broke on me. Also, I keep these LEldridge's lipsticks in a cool and dark area because I'm living in a tropical country, but it doesn't seems like its not stoping them from breaking. It is honestly so annoying and disheartening.

I have 3 out of 8 velvets broken and 1 out of 2 insanely saturated broke. I am careful with them but it has not put me off getting more yet! But I hear ya!

I’ve got a majority of her Velvet lipsticks and haven’t had one break on me yet. They’re so packed with pigment so you have to be a bit careful applying. The key is to not wind the lipstick up too much before applying and make sure you lips are not dry.
I never ever wind the lipsticks up a lot. I think it’s different batches that have issues. I also have probably over 100 lipsticks and these are the ones that break on me the most.🙈
I never turn my lipsticks more than just above the case and mine broke then fell out too, it was so soft and pigmented it got super messy trying to put it back in. It's possible they don't hold up in warmer weather or sudden temperature changes as it happened in the recent June heat spike in the UK.
I was really heartbroken as I've saved it for special occasions so only used it a handful of times.
I'm still saving so I can by a new one and I'm going to keep it the fridge this time.
I accidentally crushed mine because I thought I twisted it all the way down but I didn't! It was definitely hard trying to put it back together T_T
Do you like her foundation? I have it as well and it's sooo finicky on my dry skin. Sometimes it looks like my worst foundation, other times like my most beautiful foundation. I watched her video and when I use all the tips it turns out great, but it's seriously a lot of work. Wondering if it's just me
I have the same issue as you with her foundation. Sometimes I absolutely love it and sometimes it’s just not for me. I find that I have to moisturize well under and then it goes on really smoothly. I do love how long lasting it is and the finish of it

Wouldn't it be awesome if lip products stayed put after eating an oily meal, unfortunately, as oil is the only product capable of removing ALL of our makeup, I don't think it will ever happen.

I have every single lipstick Lisa has ever released, in all formulas and am on my second tube of 2. I’ve never had a single one break. A tube of blush exploded, but not one lipstick. That’s rubbish for 10 of yours to break 😢

I am just tired of all nude lipsticks leaning towards mauve and taupe. I need the opposite, I need them to look like there's actual blood flow to my lips, meaning terracotta, berry tones.... none of the mauve brown stuff looks good on me since my lips are naturally quite pink/red (and it clashes with my skin tone and teeth)
The thing I find kind of odd is that if the lip gloss tube is longer than other liquid lipsticks, why is the doe foot applicator so noticeably short? How are you going to be able to reach the lipgloss at the bottom of the tube? Am I alone on this one and being too picky maybe? It just seems odd to me.

You see only ribbon is OG and other shades all are a bit different in some way maybe satisfying some of their fans' fails like 'I would enjoy a warmer FAWN for my skin tone" Also the fact that how those velvet lips oxidises the next second you apply them shocks me.....
I think they just dry down. They go on wet and when they dry down they look deeper. I think if’s normal for the texture they have
Muse is my perfect color. You are warmed toned so maybe is why doesn’t translate well, I am cool toned olive and it’s so gorgeous on my skin tone.
