This woman is 59 years old and still owns the stage. She sounds just as good now! Her and Rob Halford of Judas Priest has a duet out now you have to check out. Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart.
Warlock was the band Doro Pesch formed in (West) Germany as a teenager... they debuted in 1984 w/ the album 'Burning the witches'... Doro became an iconic female vocalist in heavy metal... 'Triumph and agony' in 1987 became Warlock's biggest record w/ MTV airing the 'All we are' music video, but the band had been replaced by session musicians ... Doro was at odds w/ their management and apparently furious when she realized that they had the rights to the name Warlock... the band split up soon after. Warlock songs - 'I rule the ruins' ... 'Burning the witches'... 'Fur immer' Relaunching her career w/ a new band Doro, she released 'Force majeure' in 1989... followed by the 'Doro' album in 1990... Neither sold commercially in the USA and Doro was dropped. They continued to record and tour Europe in the 90's as grunge rock decimated Doro's career. However, she was persistent and kept releasing Doro albums and toured Europe... In 2000, Doro released her 7th album 'Callin the wild' and it finally got Doro a US release after 10 years... even though Doro Pesch relocated to the USA, Doro has continued to record and tour to date... Some of Doro's songs - 'Dedication' ... 'Hard times' ... 'Always live to win' ... 'Unholy love'... 'Pain'... 🔥🔥🤘🤘
Doro is still recording and touring to this day under her own name DORO. she just did a duet with Rob Halford of Priest the song is Total eclipse of the heart. Doro is and always will be the Metal QUEEN
I rule the ruins is another great Warlock tune. For a softer take on Doro Look into 'Fur Immer' Both are great, and Doro is still rocking the festival circuit to this day.
My favorite Hard Rock/Metal band ever from Japan. Their first 4 albums are Classics. I saw them twice in the 80s. Amsterdam [ Netherlands ] Awesome show.
Rob Halford is the Metal God and Doro is the Metal Goddess! I was blessed to see Warlock in a 3,000 seat theater back in the day, I was in love and blown away! She recorded that song before she could speak English very well! She's still rocking.
I definitely remember the anthemic chorus of this song, don't think I've heard it since the 80s and didn't know that Doro was the singer on this, really cool to hear this song again. 🎉
I just turned 65 and have had serious back problems the past few years and started really Listening to the music of my younger days. Been a fan of Warlock since the mid-eighties. Doro is one of the original shield maidens of Metal. Her later, solo stuff is impressive as well. Outstanding catalog of material. "Lady In a Rock n Roll Hell, Love Song, Scarred, Are You An Angel, Unholy Love," etc, etc.
@@robertday1671If you're asking if they respond to comments, I don't think they have time anymore. They do read them though, so if you've made a suggestion that no one else has, they might not remember that as well as something that multiple people have suggested.
Doro has always and rightfully been known as the Metal Queen. She's constantly touring and has headlined the biggest metal festival, Wacken, more than once. This song is a little bittersweet because it was Warlock's 4th studio album and this song should have and probably would have been the starting point for Warlock to really take off but they spilt with the manager and (somehow legally) took the name Warlock. So Doro had to start all over again and the record company had to convince her to use her own name because she never wanted to do that. After YEARS in court, she finally won and was able to buy back the rights to the name Warlock so she owns it again. I've been lucky enough to know her and the guys in the band and crew and call them friends for about 15 years now. She's is literally the nicest person you could ever hope to meet. To me, she's the greatest singer of all time. I call her the female version of Dio. Ive seen her perform in at least 6 states, on a cruise ship in the Caribbean, in England (London and Manchester), in Spain, and just last year, in her hometown of Dusseldorf, Germany for her 40th anniversary concert. Great singer, great performer, great woman.
The mother of Metal. She ran with the male dominated scene and earned the respect of musicians and fans alike. She proved she is more than a pretty face. Like the Bon Jovi song, she's "Seen a million faces and rocked them all"! Need to check out "East Meets West" A huge library and a deep rabbit hole to go down.
Saw Doro (she finally got name rights from Warlock back) in concert last year in Germany but she also tours USA. She is still rocking it now on stage with those Stevie Nicks type vocals, and still has that 80's metal attitude... as well as leather outfits on stage ha ha. Warlock were really influential, and in an interview said she got chorus idea of song hearing fans sing at her home town Düsseldorf soccer game. Should check out "East Meets West" or "Metal Tango".
Suggested Doro/Warlock a while back, so glad to see you checked it out. Her first solo album was a beast entitled Force Majeure. Since you loved this, try her solo song, "Angels with Dirty Faces".
Alll Hail the Metal Queen!! Loved her since Triumph and Agony. I Saw her perform as she is now. Doro. in 2008. Incredible! Also, super sweet and humble. I treasure that moment. ❤🤘
I moved to los Angeles in may 1st 1987, this sing was really big it brings memories of when i first came to LA, and an old metal radio station KNAC was number 1.
Warlock was a great heavy metal band of the 80s, and Doro Pesch has always been considered one of the greatest female rock voices of that time, one of those voices from the old school of Bonnie Tyler's heirs. If you want to hear more from her, I recommend you react to another true gem of the band, "Für Immer" (ruclips.net/video/jUHrVeKYGfo/видео.html), in which her great voice is much better appreciated. I saw her play in concert a couple of years ago, and I can tell you that she still has an impressive voice. And, since you like that great 80's rock so much, I also recommend you react to another wonderful song, also with a female vocalist, such as "Nowhere fast" (ruclips.net/video/ClnN_s2VGV0/видео.html ), a great great song by a band, Fire Inc, that was created exclusively for the performance of two songs on the soundtrack of a legendary 80's movie, "Streets of Fire". In it you will hear the voice of another great singer, Laurie Sargent, with backing vocals by Holly Sherwood and Rory Dodd.
Another awesome female fronted 80’s metal band is Chastain. They’re like an even heavier Warlock. Leather Leone does great on vocals, and they have David T Chastain shredding the guitar.
Doro is the true metal queen. She has been called the female Dio. She loves her fans 100 percent. She is the sweetest , most down to earth rock star you can ever meet. I met her back in the early 80s. You should listen to the song " burning witches " live from the camden palace to see her in a live setting. She still tours and is worth seeing.
Doro Pesch is a german treasure! Her success and accomplishments speak for themself, but more important: from all I`ve heard she is an even better human: humble, kind to everyone and all we want from a celebrety
This is from their 4th and most commercial successful album Triumph and Agony which had other great songs like "Three Minute Warning", "I Rule The Ruins", "East Meets West", "Touch of Evil", and "Metal Tango". They have videos from their first and heavier album Burning The Witches from songs "Burning The Witches" and "Metal Racer as well as "Hellbound" the title track of their 2nd album. Doro went solo after this album and released Force Majeure. With a great song "A Whiter Shade of Pale", which was a cover of a 60's song. It shows off how beautiful of a voice she has. Also, with songs like, "Unholy Love", "Love Me in Black", "Black Rose" and good ear Amber she also covered Hearts "Barracuda". I was fortunate to see her and Warlock in 2019 at The Whisky in Hollywood. That was a great show. She is still going strong in 2024 with new material and she has not lost her voice one bit. Still looks great too. Birth name is Dorothy Pesch.
The metal anthem of the 80's. From the album, triumph & agony. A great ballad on that album you need to check out is, Fur immer (translation, for ever). It is sung in German but definitely worth a look, you'll love it ❤😊

Doro, Metal Queen! This album goes far back to my teen days in the 80s. I just listened to the album once again two weeks back and by chance a young metal band was playing this song at a gig I went to recently - and the whole audience was singing it. Warlock was Doro's original band back in the 80s, but she went on to do Solo stuff under the name Doro and a couple of her latest songs are "Children of the Dawn" and "Time for Justice." Check those out. She's been doing the Mad Max post-apocalyptic themes in her solo career a lot.
I was obsessed, had to see them live, side bonus they opened for Megadeth and I instantly became a fan of theirs as well. Doro is still performing just saw a video of her covering Total Eclipse of the heart w/ Rob Halford.
I never listened to Doro or Warlock growing up in the 80's. Just got into them a few years ago and realized I missed out. I would have a tough time picking my favorite song from her. It would be between this song, "You're My Family" or "Thunderspell". All amazing songs. Her duet with Lemmy on "It Still Hurts" is a beautiful song ballad.
Doro is the true queen of metal. To this day she still owns the title and looks as gorgeous as ever. She is timeless and ageless. I believe Gene Simmons (Kiss) produced this album.
The first 4 albums were recorded as Warlock until the bands former manager won the rights to the name. Since then she records as Doro. Still going strong, she released the album Conquress last year.
That chorus is the ultimate metal banger! Doro is absolutely awesome! You had women singers back then but the music was a bit on the wimpy side. Doro brought the hard vocals with the hard music, she didn’t take prisoners. Obviously gorgeous but she had the confidence and power to back it all up.
Love Warlock and Doro. Great pick. Doro has gone on to a long solo career. Doro is short for Dorothea. I met Doro after a show. She stays and signs everyone's autographs. She is so nice and loves her fans. You'll have to do "I rule the ruins" next.
For mid-80s metal this became a phenomenal anthem for so many of us metalheads back then. We didn't care that the lead singer Doro is female, the SoNg kicks ass no matter what, her voice included as part of its entire magic...we didn't make a big deal out of that back then, feminism just...Was, by that point...with no explanations, justifications, qualifications, none of the political crap of today, we just accepted her as a killer metal musician and that was IT. If you want another good, mid-80s metal anthem, check out "Don't Care 'bout nothin'" by Shotgun Messiah...so damn cool & metal, with a simple, blazing main riff.
YEAH ...Doro Rocks!! She has a great catalog of songs under her name Doro. Suzi Quatro is the Queen of Rock... check her song 'Can The Can' out! 70s ...10yrs before Doro! You two wouldve fit right into the 70s n 80s life!
@@UncleDaffy313 and that. She has so many good songs. Her 1st album was her heaviest though (and best imo), thats why i recomended that one. Ive seen her live about 20 times now. She used to come here to Oz every 2yrs, and we'd always go. She loves Oz.
Yep, Doro is THE BEST! Had to change to band name to DORO for whatever reasons by around 1990. I may have to consider Doro the first full blown "metal" queen!

Check out her remake of Whiter Shade of Pale and fur immer you can really get a feel for her voice on those songs
I saw the concert in Boston Massachusetts, and the show was Megadeth headlining, and warlock and sanctuary opening. What a show.
🤘😎🤘 DORO's latest album "Conqueress - Forever Strong and Proud" (2023) is brilliant. 🤘😎🤘
Aw, man...been in love with Doro forever. She's the real thing and a true Metal Queen!
Saw them live in the late 80's. Absolutely awesome!
Doro is the true queen of metal. To this day she still owns the title and looks as gorgeous as ever. She is timeless and ageless. I believe Gene Simmons (Kiss) produced this album.
I was obsessed with her back in the day. When i got to meet her i was stunned how Beautiful she was in person
So happy this song finally came around, love Warlock. Another great metal band with female vocalist is Chastain...the song "For those who dare"
Leather leone has a Great Metal voice.
“Hard Times” ...another great one by Doro
You will be blown away by the band
Also check out Warlock’s I Rule the Ruins. Doro does a very heavy cover of Billy Idol’s White Wedding.
80's teenage rocker boys liked Doro for so many reasons....
You should also do "It's My Life" by Wendy O. Williams. Written by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons.
Suggestions:
Sabrosa Purr - "The Lovely People"
Dirty Looks - " Oh Ruby"
Love Warlock and Doro. Great pick. Doro has gone on to a long solo career. Doro is short for Dorothea. I met Doro after a show. She stays and signs everyone's autographs. She is so nice and loves her fans. You'll have to do "I rule the ruins" next.
I never thought you guys would cover this it's a fairly obscure song from the '80s. I actually loved warlock
I think its safe to say that, judging by Amber's reactions, that she is embracing being a headbanger.
Doro is THE queen! She was there before all the other big ones! "I rule the ruins" would be great next!
Seriously need to check out "Fur Immer" from the same album as this song
One of my favorite bands! This is heavy rocking with a female front. I had hoped this showed up on female Fridays. You didn't disappoint. Thanks!
Doro is a goddess. I've had to travel pretty far to catch shows, because she never broke too big here in the US, but it's always worth it!
Rabbit hole she's got great solo songs and with Warlock
What a banger! As someone who graduated high school in 1985 and loved hair metal this was a first for me! Never heard of Warlock but loved it!
Parallel society - All we are - All we are - We are - We are all - All we need!
YEAH ...Doro Rocks!! She has a great catalog of songs under her name Doro. Suzi Quatro is the Queen of Rock... check her song 'Can The Can' out! 70s ...10yrs before Doro! You two wouldve fit right into the 70s n 80s life!
I think the channel should check out Suzi Quatro's song, "Your Mama Won't Like Me."
Another good one from warlock is called Fight for Rock
