I just watched the whole video, haha! Really appreciate it, deep down!I also wanna thank you that you built an amazing website, it basically shows every arcade controllers you can find on the market, that would be a super good guidance for our lovely players who wants to have a suitable one!
Like Emoranger, I own multiple models (G13/16, S13/16, & M16). Thank you for making quality, yet affordable products!! Ticks off all the features I’d want, from custom art, to custom RGB patterns & pin mappings. Various sizes for practicality. (T & M series better for bigger hands/lap play while G & S series is very portable). The screen is a nice UI touch to see what going on under the hood in real time. If u ever have any questions the Discord community is very helpful, the list goes on… I can tell y’all really care about your product! Not gonna lie, I haven’t touched my Razer Kitsune or Hitbox in months! 😂😂
You can make any Haute CPT legal. You can switch SOCD modes with button combinations and you can switch the extra up button to another function. The LCD screen lets you prove your stick is legal without launching a game.
@@xkoan-yy7lg The screen shows what buttons are being registered in relation to button presses. If you press up and down at the same time, the lcd screen shows you how the controller is interpreting the inputs (socd cleaning) without the need to prove it in game (which you can still do).
@@xkoan-yy7lgFor example: You can tell if your controller lets you charge back while walking forward just by seeing if you can make the forward and back buttons light up at the same time on the LCD screen. Basically, you can't.
Thank you for this video! I've been waffling between the T16 and G16, and this was really helpful, especially with showing them side by side. I've ordered a T16 just now.
This is such a helpful and comprehensive review. I bought a g16 a few weeks ago and I’m really liking it so far. This review would have been useful when I was thinking about buying mine.
Even before your video came out for these leverless controllers, your website article was one of the reasons why I got the G16 and it's been great! (even if my gameplay is... less than decent) Thank you very much for showing all the budget options that exist in the controller world and I'll definitely be looking at your site once my GAS starts to hit again
I picked up a couple of M13s for myself and an M16 for my grandson. The all-metal versions run same firmware and have equal performance but the M series looks every bit as good as the Razer Katsune as far as I'm concerned. They have the USB passthrough built in so adding the Brooks or Mayflash dongles for PS5 and Xbox compatibility is super easy.
i went with the g16 cause it had the fastest shipping 😁it is too small for my lap and i didnt wanna use it on my desk, so at first i was using a spare small shelf in my lap, with the g16 on top. recently i fabricated a steel box at work with a hole in the top so the g16 sits slightly above being flush. about 19" x 10" x 5/8" deep. now it is really fuckin awesome to use. i love the way the buttons feel and the light config i use is just so cool to me. the lights are off, and only flash pink when i press them. its classier than just always having them full bore imo.
I bought the T16 yesterday, though I'm not sure how much I'll like it after being on the official Hit Box for so long with the 24mm buttons. I just wanted the extra buttons.
Great review congrats on the review products being sent out also I'm trying to catch their PR team to get a T13 and a S or G 13 or 16 sent out for review and etc.s Wish me luck
I'm using the G-Form Extreme Portfolio 7 for the G16 and Mini here. There's currently a seller on eBay that is liquidating them for $4 shipped. The Bridget doesn't quite fit it, but there's other options over there like the G-Form Extreme iPad 2 case.
Very great review, i got the T16 and it's really great but when I disconnect it from any device, if I try to reconnect it immediately, it doesn't turn on, I have to wait about twenty minutes to turn it on again. Any solution?
Haven't seen that myself; may want to try: 1. Flash nuking and reflashing 0.7.7 (make sure to use the Haute42 specific variant) 2. Trying different ports and cables 3. After unplugging, press some buttons to see if that reduces the time you have to wait
Would you say this thing works for shooters since you mentioned them? Part of the reason I play on stick is that I can use the same muscle memory I’ve developed playing shmups on a Seimitsu and as a result I’m very efficient with my muscle groups. If I were to switch to leverless, not only would I have to relearn, I’d also have to keep both a leverless and my stick around since I play both genres regularly…. Or so I thought. If I’m wrong, that’d be interesting. I’m still not convinced that leverless would be more intuitive for me anyway.
I've retrained enough that playing shooters and platformers on the Hitbox buttons is doable, though with the H42s you have the more WASD method of play. If you've played shooters on the keyboard, then this won't be a big change.
You are the only one that knows what's best for you. Me for example, I come from a strict wasd background playing most of my games on keyboard. Recently got tekken 8 on ps5 and i will not for the love of God ever want to re learn all the stuff I know on stick. So this thing here is incredible for me. Small too. All the bad things he said don't apply to me because I love wasd layout, maybe only the artwork space missing yeah. So again, you can only know what's best for you.
I got curious on these an thought they were just some cheaper knock off wanna be hitbox/snackbox controllers, didn't wanna spend much an got the mini an i've been playing tekken 8 an able to do just about all the combos in the practice list compared to my current 8bitdo controller that I usually use for all my games... My only downside with this is that its small so you might feel cramped upon long use but of course that's kind of expected, still highly recommend it... I think I might splurge a little more an get the bigger m or s series...by the way, they upgraded the mini with a mini plus, same mini just added a few more buttons...
Great Video! Got my hands on one one month ago and its been great ever since. I do have one problem though... When I use the controller tester to my Haute42 T16, the directional buttons use the analog stick rather than the dpad. Haven't made any changes ever since i got this. Works just fine but I can't make any button mapping in tekken 8 because it needs the dpad to select to each button. Any idea how to change this?
I believe you should be able to change the directional buttons to emulate dpad by pressing start+back and the down button. The info screen should state the mode it is emulating with L (left stick) R (right stick) and D (d-pad)
Hi,bro, I think this is some engineering questions, as I known about our hardware, we use these two IO:Pin0 and pin1 for OLED display, for more circuit details and material selection,I have to talk to the engineers for a long time
I've been contemplating the "G" but I'm concerned about the "w" button next to the screen being in an uncomfortable position. It's slightly shifted over to the right.
While it depends on personal preference, stickless controllers like the ones depicted in the video give you more flexibility, which may lead to more wins (and more fun)!
Awe man! I just got my t16 so it had the current firmware. I was just trying to change the lights and I got confused and bricked the thing. I'm pretty sure i wiped the firmware and gotta send it back. Won't be trying that again :(
just press the back button when plugging in and on your pc where it shows your hard drives, a new one for the controller will pop up. just download and drag the new firmware into the controller drive. while you do this the controller will not be on even when plugged in. it will turn on after the file is put into the folder. this is why you dont just change things without reading the manual. you have youtube to figure out the rest.
While I know rooflemonger wasn't the first to do it, he helped popularize the trend of alternate layouts: ruclips.net/video/4wWvx_UXrJo/видео.htmlsi=os9X-0IlQIpcB0sa
Rooflemonger has a custom made hitbox type controller with more than the usual buttons. He said this was the future and was looking to sell his rooflebox in future.
This video is great, though I will have to say so with the caveat that the product line still doesn't exude purchasing confidence. Every RUclips review I've seen is solely from those who were sent units to review. I haven't managed to find one that is from someone who bought the devices with their own cash, and therefore has absolutely no stake with the company. I would love to get one, but I think I'll wait until I see more reviews from people who weren't given free products.
We will soon post a review of the Haute42 M16 that our reviewer, Zevaeros, bought himself. That said, companies do not have any influence over our opinions.
I've been using mine at local VSav tournaments but check with your tournament rules. You can disable the extra buttons either in software or by physically removing them if nothing else.

You can either use the Brook Wingman XB2 as an in-line adapter or get a MAGONE to use in the passthrough port.
