Really happy to hear that Kirk is doing so much better. Thanks for letting us know. And we're looking forward to catching a trio show in October.
JD your Earl Hooker cover is awesome!
I play slide/ pedal steel I listen to every thing and everyone pretty much. Sacred steel and blues especially.
You just really nailed it I have not heard anyone even come close .
Beautiful work!
for me you are one of the greatest nowadays
im glad to see that you still have the 335.
Oooh Whee JD that’s the biz, brother.
So happy to hear Kirk is doing well. Hope to see him back playing soon!
Man JD that slide playing is incredible !
Please come to Portland Oregon in the future, the Aladdin Theater is the venue for you (I can walk there with my service dog, you'll love Renji!) - cheers!
What a legend!
See ya Oct. 15 in H town. Much luv ❤️
See you evolve as a guitar player has been a pleasure. Amazing work.
JD's slide playing is insane...best of the best
Yeah Kirk! Stoked to hear he’s doing well. Thanks for another great episode JD! ☺️
Love it JD! You are a true legend, and these vids are so enjoyable!
Love the videos, thanks JD!!
Amazing tone with that slide. Great stuff.
Waiting for the return to Portland 🙏 thanks for doing these!
Been digging your slide blues...
You really make those old foil pickups howl (!)
Thanks for the update JD. Beautiful slide intro there. Looking forward to seeing you at the Rhythm Room next month man.
Love you, bro!
‘Blow-Up’ poster! My mother met Antonioni when she was in college here in Houston at the University of St. Thomas in 1969…she worked as an assistant to the head of the art department and got to meet all kinds of amazing artists of all kinds.
Have you tried the Peterson Strobo Stomp HD?! You can select true or buffered bypass and I’ve never heard any funny business through it, but your mileage may vary! I hope to convert you away from the Sonic Research!😂
Lindley is still the man…can’t go wrong with anything from him. That classic old Ric steel into the Dumble on ‘Running On Empty’ is still the benchmark of all slide tone for me. I saw him on tour with Browne back in 1989…so great!
JD - hope you see this - I discovered you a bit by accident during COVID - your YT performance of Ghost Riders at Robert's WW was top 5 for me - and I've seen many good ones - you inspired to get back into playing. I have been following you since - you are an amazing player carrying the torch - I look forward to the slide course and hopefully seeing you in concert soon.
While watching and listening to that great slide playing, my eyes locked onto that old Alamo. Mine's a model 3 from 1956, with a kind of fake tweed and brown leatherette covering - not as nice as yours, as it's been dragged around a bit. But still with the same chrome drawer-pull handle. Would be great if you guys ever made it up to the Hartford, CT area sometime! Thanks for the Kirk update.
Yes History is an addiction..
Hey, I'm the guy that bought your Ampeg Gemini I. I'm loving that amp! I'm going to try to catch you in Fort Worth next month.
I missed the introduction of the JAM Wah. It must be good, I know how you nerd over classic wahs.
See ya in Denver JD... as usual!
Oh man that slide guitar is taaasty
The Meters should be on Mt. Rusmore
Great camera angle you can really see how you play!
I hope J.D. comes to Taos N.M. again !
Dude, you can stand with Paul Franklin or any runner in the game!
