LTJ Bukem presents Logical Progression (CD-B mixed set, original 1996 version) Intelligent DnB

- This is logical, this is a progression... The original (96 version) and still one of the best sets around, LTJ's about to touch down. I had to cut 2 tracks due to copyright (29:00 & 45:00), you can download the full set from my Soundcoud page ( / dj-jo-public . After much confusion I finally found the original 1996 version of LTJ's seminal Logical Progression 2 CD release. This is the mixed set (CD-B). Intelligent DnB at its finest.
1. Airtight remix - Funky Technicians
2. New element - Form Form
3. Drum in a grip - De Wolf & Wax Doctor
4. Solution - Ils & Solo
5. In too deep - JMJ & Flytronix
6. So long - Seba & Lo-tec [CUT Blocked on YT]
7. Pharaoh - Photek
8. After Hours - DJ Trace
9. Groove Therapy - Universal
10. Mind Games - DJ Crystal [CUT Blocked on YT]
I've been looking for this set for a long time but have never been able to find it online, only the 2001 re-released version where the mixed CD was replaced with the 'Ministry of Sound Half A Decade Of Dance' 96 live set and different tracks on the un-mixed CD. I brought a 2nd hand copy from Discogs.com. I will do a mix using the tracks on the unmixed CD (CD-A) when I get some time.
As always, all props to the artists, producers n engineers that made these tracks, nuff respect to all the Goodlooking family.
Adverts are automatically inserted due to copyright claims on some tracks, this has nothing to do with me - I do not monetize any of the content on this channel. Видеоклипы
Some LTJ sets and lots of Goodlooking tracks are blocked on YT, you can find those sets (Progression Sessions 01, etc.) on my Soundcloud page: soundcloud.com/dj-jo-public

I'm a 45 year old Jungalist here. I was the only Japanese raver at any rave I ever went to. I used to climb up on the stage and then get told to get off again. I remember once MC Mann Paris was on the stage and I happened to be on there, the main lights were on and I remember him looking at me confused. Like, 'Er, are you meant to be on stage?' No one kicked me off strangely enough! I think I was 17-18 years old and it was around 1993 or 1994? (Birmingham Institute, Pandemonium) Anyway... I don't mean to go off on one. Bukem is played everyday and reminds me of those golden days. I haven't been able to dance for many years because I'm now disabled. But I am still a Jungalist at heart. Thank you DJ Jo!!
Haha great story :)
I was at that rave great era...think the video is up online from that night I'm thinking 1992 era
Absolutely love this
Nice story bud. I used to follow a girl around, who in turn was following Conrad. Mad days. She a professor of some mad cancer specialism now...I'm currently still coming down...

Oh. My. Lord. I remember walking into a dance-friendly music shop in Huddersfield in the mid-90s and declaring to the gorgeous girl behind the counter, "I heard some drum n' bass at a party and loved it - what do you recommend?" She gave me this. Bless that woman!😀
Do u ever wish u returned, 2 request her hand n marriage?
I mean she gave u sumthin........
Man bringz soul 4th, from da machinez!
Wow what a way to be introduced! She was the special one!! :) Out of all my D&B albums of the 90's this is the most played!
Isnt Huddersfield in the UK where DJ smile (the worst rapper ever sang his songs about kicking little babies in the face?)

Check out art core 2 its as good as this.
2023 and still sound crisp.
In 90's I was dancing and tripping songs like this.
Now almost 59 and if I start to dance again, people start to think that I have screw lose or break a hip.

56 year old break beat soldier here. To all youngsters. This changed everything at the time. You had metalheadz at the blue note and LTJ at speed. At this time LTJ BUKEM was the best dj. Best mixes that could take you places and with MC CONRAD it was perfection.
🙏
47 yr old Junglist soldier reporting for duty. Mate, we didn't realise how lucky we were, well I didn't anyway...! Magical times. Met Danny at Fabric a few months back, told him I first saw him in 93 - he thought that was hilarious. When I thanked him for everything he'd done he just said, "No, thank you and everyone who keeps this music alive" What an absolute geezer.
So I will continue to go 'out-out' (about every 6 weeks) and keep playing DnB (all styles and periods) in the house for my kids. They are 10 and 7 and are already into it :)
Next Bukem date - Apr 28th, Brixton - be there..???!???

Nice, always fancied getting into some production myself. Good for you.
I went to UCOJ in Vauxhall last night - wicked vibes, and for once it felt like an old school rave, in that half the people in there were back and there were some proper rastas in the place. That's partly why I've always been into this music - I've seen first had how it can cut across race, class etc. Plus last night I felt like one of the youngest there! Result :)

I Drove from Oslo to Tromso in northern Norway whilst listening to this bad boy!!
Low winter sunset and some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet... greatest journey of my life 😊
I travelled up that way from Oslo S by train in February once. Norway stole my heart that day. Pity I wasn't listening to this, would've been perfect, I know exactly what you mean :)
Sounds amazing!
Norge represent!
That sounds amazing indeed. The closest I've come to what you describe is listening to this genre of music while flying solo in a Cessna 172 across the US listening to this through my headset during sunset. It was an amazingly peaceful experience.
To have been a passenger, smoking a big Northern Lights spliff🔥🪲🌿
My dad would drive around the back roads of Bahia in Brazil, place where civilization is very non developed still and you can see all the stars and Galaxies! @@anartist8087 well what does this story have to do with this "video"?
I was born in 92, in my adulthood I have found immense appreciation for house/dnb/garage from the 90’s. This is at the top of the class for me.
Stay away from commercialized EDM
For all you young'uns, this was referred to as Intelligent Drum'n'Bass.. well before fabio came up with the term Liquid Funk, which then was shortened to just Liquid drum'n'bass. Fuck I miss 1995 - 2000 in terms of the jungle/ DnB scene, when certain record labels (like Moving Shadow, Creative Source, Ram, Virus, GLR/LGR/720 and more put out nothing but excellence, so you could order ecords from places like Australia from a text mailing list (before online shopping, with no track previews (imagine that!), safe in the knowledge you'd be getting a rinsable tune.
Jungle Teckno
@@royfarmertopkat6737 Not this, at any point in time, ever.
I'm a young and when I first heard intelligent dnb I called it Intelligent dnb and I love 90s dnb. New dnb just doesn't hit me as hard as 90s dnb.
Yeah but LTJ didn't agree with the term "intelligent' - thought it denigrated the scene. But respect for your love of this music. Keep it alive and spread the word.
41 year old heavy on the nostalgia and feeling all the better for it. Peace and much love one and all x

i love exploring the idea of also listening to this album but only being 16 at the time, just entering the realms of good music, whilst you all presumably had a whole journey of music that led up to enjoying this in your mid-late 30s. ish. peace be with you.
KM MINING 60. Ditto
Remember blasting this in my car stereo, bombing down the M4 in my super fast Alfa Romeo GTV coupe. Autoart fused with sound art and speed. Magical high experience. No need for drugs.
its a classic
Danny Bukem was a gift from God for UK dnb, same as Groove, Goldie, AndyC, Roni etc
Don't forget Fabio
Logical Progression to me is the album that represents the pinnacle of how beautiful and deep jungle/dnb can be. It tells its own story to every listener. It sounds timeless and is a work of art that will live forever. To all those who know, I salute you.
19:30 I bought this when came out in 96 for these vibes. Still own it and listening in 2021.
What an era the 90s was, especially 90-98 from the age of 15 to 23, i travelled all over the UK, and had the time of my life ❤
Few albums, regardless of genre, deserve the mantle of "definitive."
This album is one of those.
It was how the future was supposed to sound.
Let's hope it does again.
I REALLY wish Skrillex got that memo!
I know, and I agree with all my might, but it probably won't.

Couldn't agree more... This album has been maintained on my music short list through the years and in my travels as "ESSENTIAL LISTENING".
Never have I gotten sick of listening to this set. Bought the double cd for $39 in 1997 which was probably all my savings at that time!

Reading the comments here its great to know im not the only 1 who holds this album in particularto my heart. Growing up during the 90's i wasnt out clubbing as i was just a kid at primary school but this album was the soundtrack to my early years moving on to high school. Smoked my 1st spliff to it. Had a good education in dance music from some older freinds i grew up with sadly some have passed away but the music lives on with the memories.....
bruh can I have a link to your channel cover picture? looks insane...
Christopher Kennedy can I just support what you are saying ..
Top 10 album
Christopher .
Fuck man... i used to play Half life with this as background music in 1998. How fast time goes. Damn.
Still doing that today, the feeling of that past can´t be matched by anything recent. For me atleast. Since mankind is declining from it´s peak, i´ve decided to stay with that peak, the short period of absolute perfection for me. From the sound of those old pc-fans to the kenwood amp from the early 80s. I´m happy there.
lucky u had the chance to do this... well i still have but that wont feel the same i think..
half-life with jungle music as background music is literally as mid 90s as it gets
i played this album in the background while i played GTA 4 online back in '09 i miss them old PS3 online days 😥🎮
woah i'm literally playing half life while listening to this right now that's crazy, it fits so well
It's 2019, rapidly approaching 2020 (WTF?!) and this album is heading towards being quarter of a century old. And it still sounds as mind blowing, and fresh as back in the mid 90s. Epic doesn't come close.

Whoever is hearing this for the first time after getting the repackaged Ministry of Sound mix as "logical Progression 1", this is like watching the original Star Wars after seeing the horrible altered versions. This mix threw my life down a path of stupid amounts of money spent on vinyl.
yeah don't know why they did that, although the Ministry of Sound set is also class - must have been due to copyright, etc... I think that's why it's so hard to find good sets, as other labels won't let you use their tracks - so they are limited to playing tracks from one label. Regarding stupid amount of money on vinyl, yeap me too - and I just got sucked back into buy tracks again as there has been so much quality stuff coming out - here we go again...
Me too, man. Hearing Bukem and then starting to buy more jungle from a local récord shop, then going down the rabbit hole. 20years later I still have all my vinyl. And i'll have it til the Day I die.

The whole work is legit. He came during a time when the sounds of D&B were becoming hard and metalized a cross the board. He wanted to prove that it could be chill, groovy, deep, introspective, stylized and fluid without all the metal grinding. My first DnB album...and like a drug, I spent the rest of my years chasing the high this album gave me...never to be reached again. This album set the bar so high, that for me, all DnB has been, unfairly, but rightfully, judged ever since. Countless purchases, downloads and shows...all fall short. Now, there are some great singles that are close, but as for a cover to cover 'set', this should be the pinnacle of the genre. Feeling blessed to have had it in my life. Thank you!
