I’m 65 and have recently discovered LTJ. Going to see him at festie in September- cant wait and can’t stop listening to the Master. Luv and blessings to the man and his fine tunes.
@@omarks I assume because electronic music tends to attract younger audiences. My mom is in her 60's and would never listen to Ltj lol but in reality most of us who were young when this album came out are already in our 40's and 50's.
It's because of this I hold bukem in such high esteem as a dnb pioneer DJ and producer .... It is a nigh on perfect drum and bass album.....and it's a genre I've listened to since it's inception....I'm now fifty one and STILL listening to dnb/jungle! ..... But this album is more than that.....look into it's production and history.....it was ready for release way way before it actually was.....a truly timeless ground breaking piece VERY far ahead of it's time and should be treated as such.
Yes mate, 48 and been listening to this music as it was created. Bukem was WAY ahead of the game, still is 😎 this is the definition of a seminal album. Respect to you 👊
@@bluejackmedia i am 44 and still mixing this with old and new vinyls. Not in the qualitiy like ltj do, but with a lot of fun ;) And yeah, Bukem is a real genius. One of the only Dj`s, where i dont need to skip while listening to 3, 4 or more mixes
Can you explain whats special about this album? Ive only got into this genre over the past year or so with its resurgence, but its awesome! Its music that feels like an old friend
@@crispyjuice2110 at that point in time dance music in the UK was coming out of its infancy and evolving.....splitting into different sub genres.....the reason this album was and is still so special is because it helped shape the dnb genre.....musically and the surrounding culture.....and the fact that it still sounds as fresh today as it did then is testament to it's and bukems genius......rumour has it that the whole album was mixed down ready to produce by the end of 1994 but bukem held off because he didn't think the timing was right.....releasing eventually in '96.....if that's true then it truly is a masterpiece if you compare it to what most dj's were playing in '94. In a nutshell it helped give the atmosphere to atmospheric/liquid dnb and jungle which then became a seminal sound in the whole genre moving forward.
@@james7095 couldn't have put it any better myself. He was adopted, learnt classical piano, crzy about jazz, then joined a reggae sound system in his teens. When the scene started to hear he'd recorded this album they asked why he wasn't playing the tunes in his sets, "they're not ready for them yet" Essentially created a new genre, which faded but is coming back strong.
Sublime. LTJ changed the game. He played at my first rave in 93. 30 years (and 2 kids) later I saw him 6 times last year. No boy test 😎 RIP Conrad. No one will ever do it like you. Ever ❤
Amazingly LTJ Bookem was brought into a Thursday night club by some good promoters one evening in Philly, PA in 96’ Guess he was passing by while on a tour. He spun the whole night I think, just total bliss. Such beautiful 🎶 God blesss 🙏🏽
My favourite mix this - I was lucky enough to find it on vinyl in a Virgin record store when visiting San Fran in the 90's. Saw him headline a show in Toronto the same year. I've never stopped listening to DnB... it always sounds like the future.
Just epic. Had it in vinyl in the 90s should have never let it go. Went through a rough time in life and used to jam this and it chilled me out and centred me. Stills sounds fresh It really was progressive, and another level.
Never forget the time when i brought this album but before playing it one evening decided to watch the blair witch project for the first time back then it was a first of its kind movie played this after being freaked out by what i just watched, This album always takes me back to that time.
When I bought this on vinyl back in 96' I think, I only had my 1200's about a month, Couldn't stop mixing stis album. Got lost in it. What music should do. Ÿeèeee haaaaaa😅
Gotta ask just in case anyone out there knows the answer... Who was speaking in what sounds like an interview at the very start of this cd before Funky Technicians kicks in?

Absolute masterpiece👌
No one can mix and chop like Bukem.
96 was pretty peak. Pills were still top quality, the summer was blazing, raves were on point and the euros were on.
93 - x files, beavis and butthead and jungle 💛😆

Logical progression is such a masterpiece!
It was ahead of it's time in 1996 and still more than relevant today. ❤
Sublime album, timeless and one of my best and favourite albums I ever bought.❤
