Hello Noogie5555. To clean the filter we do not recommend using alcohol wipes. To clean it please slide the filter cover off of the bottom of the unit, then use a new toothbrush to clean any built-up dust off the filter. Slide the filter cover back on the bottom of the hair dryer before using the hair dryer again. We recommend cleaning the filter monthly to help maintain unit performance.
The video shows an alcohol wipe being used after the toothbrush to remove any stubborn debris. I followed this instruction and did see that the filter became cleaner after as there was some sort of residue the brush did not remove. @@sharkbeauty

You can also brush away any dust with a cotton bud and it’ll do the job. Just worked on my partner’s hairdryer when it started cutting out.

i dropped the round brush attachment into water and im scared it wont work. once it drys will it still work?
