- This topic is really sensitive, and what I'm about to say might make some of you uncomfortable. Someone wrote in, "I want to talk about a significant struggle-a place of battle, struggle, falls, and failures. About 3 to 4 years ago, God saved me, and since then, I've changed in many ways. However, one particular sin has barely changed: the sin of masturbation. I've been heavily addicted since I was 12, and now, at 23, I've had some small victories but keep falling back. Honestly, I still feel like a slave to that sin. Does this mean that the Son has not set me free yet? Or even worse, that I'm not saved?"

The reason why most believers struggle with sexual sin is because it's a sin that keeps on taking away from you.
You sin against your own body and that griefs the Holy spirit.
The only way to get deliverance is through prayer,fasting (denying the flesh) confession and deliverance,God will help you if you truly walk with the Spirit continually who then gives you self control.
You play a part by distracting yourself,stop thinking about it and daydreaming by replaying those scenes or the after feeling.
Once the enemy gets you to commit this sin you're more likely to get into other related sins....Porn,adultery,fornication,masturbation,homosexuality,beasteality.
It gives the enemy an open door to attacks from demons continually.Through this the devil has a legal ground to accuse you before God. (Accuser of brethren).
The enemy will guilt trip you everytime you come before God to worship and pray they'll always be the enemy's voice in your head reminding you how filthy and worthless you're.In the end it always leads to public shame.
May God help you as you battle this.
Even if the shame is private and internal, there is always that shame and separation of the sweetness of the fellowship with Yeshua.

Amazing! Can you describe how? Did He remove your desire for it? So many people struggle with this today including myself. I just read about a distant Amazonian tribe that was able to connect to the internet with the help of Elon Musk’s Starlink, and now a bunch of the tribe members are addicted to pornography and social media. So sad. I wish we didn’t have the internet sometimes.
It's about valuing God's Presence everyday. But to know that only comes by experiencing it. How? It's what you do and your mindset in times of peace( not being tempted) that determine your performance in times of war( temptation). James 4:6 says God gives more grace to the humble. We battle everyday with sexual lust. I observe my masturbation habit. I started at 10 years old and it controlled my life. I learned when I get tempted by the Evil one I get up and immediately pray to God or Jesus Christ. Sometimes the images of lust try to seduce me. But when I pray immediately it's Gone. Pray, pray. Because we can overcome it in the name of Jesus. Remember everytime you have the urge the devil is at work!
Say no to lust! Lust constantly steals, but God has so much to offer with His love.

You really have to focus and pursue God. Don't focus on the giant's in your land, keep magnifying God. The more weaknesses and failings keep looking to God. Every sin or weakness wants to be an idol, and if you focus on it, it will become that very thing. Focus on the goodness and majesty of God and His Word.

What helps me with this specific sin is remembering scripture like sexual sins are against the body as in the whole body of Christ, Joseph ran from sexual immorality, the sexualy immoral will not enter the kingdom of God, crucify your flesh daily and follow me, walk in the spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh, etc. I had a very serious addiction with this for more than half my life and only after surrender to knowing the demons were not responsible for this sin, my selfish desire to please myself is the issue I can't blame on anyone, this freed me giving me access to the LORD and his power because I was taking responsibility for my sinful willing thoughts. If we live to please God we will not be focused on our own desires. GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY BLESS YOU ALL! WE MUST BE FAITHFUL FAMILY KEEP GOING!

Timely Need this message in the Church NOW! Teach children GOD’s Love is not Carnal it’s Agape Sacrificial Love.. It is so common to confuse Lust for love. The internet feeds this misconception. My grandchildren from 35, 31,28,19 & 12 have never known a world without the internet. 22 yrs ago my oldest grandson was discovered viewing naked pics of women. At 13 that’s intoxicating to a child. But without Faith he didn’t get good counsel only punished. I know the teens today in my town & where my youngest grands live have cults that teens view Pornography & then act out in front of each the porn that they view. It’s mortifying to me but this is happening in our culture & the breakdown of the family - We have turned away from GOD. PRAY FOR OUR CHILDREN & those that struggle with SIN. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

The Apostle Paul was able to preach and exhort others about sin ONLY because he overcame by the power of the Spirit. If he had been still a slave to sin (which he clearly was not: Romans 8), it would have been hypocritical of him to rebuke others.
The inability of some to overcome is down to unbelief (which includes believing false teachers who tell them they'll be forever wretches) and also down to having not laid the desire to serve self at the feet of Jesus.
As Romans 13:8-10 makes clear, sinning is selfishness.
It's making an idol of self, as Lucifer did.

The greatesf weapon for me against lust is to literally ask Jesus to mute my sexual desires, and He answers that prayer ALOT for me. He turns off the temptation and fills me with revelations about Him. May Our Lord and Savior, Yahwah Yeshua protect your mind and build foundations of purity. In Jesus name, Amen.
Truth spoken here, I completely understand the advice to run from sin and temptation and that is true and I am in no way suggesting we necessarily put ourselves in danger, but we must be ready and prepared to fight on enemy territory, I can testify that with enough supplication to the lord, desire, pleading and effort he will provide strength to meet and beat the enemy. Learn to master desires and the physical appetites of life and use technology and other blessing for the good that they can do, don't ignore the good that can be accomplished because of a fear of weakness, the Lord wants us to be strong to be able to stand in the face of Evil and have no fear.
I really do agree. When you're used to saying no to your body to deprive it of what it wants I believe there is something beneficial in that because it does become easier to say no to sin. I have experienced this reality in my own life and it is easier to say no to sin and it's also easier to pray and pick up the word of God and study. 1 Corinthians 9:27 says "But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified." I do think disciplining the body also helps with obedience to God in all areas of our lives spiritual and physical. I remember Pastor John MacArthur saying that he loves steak (or some type of meat) and everytime he eats it he leaves the juciest part and doesn't eat it, which is best part for him, and he does it to discipline his body, he is telling his body no in the physical reality so that he can easily say no to sin because he is used to not giving his body what it wants. I think that's powerful.

This is a common stumbling block because we are physically wired for this temptation, but God's purpose for sex is for the marital bond and procreation.
I have been freed of these sins but I have regrets that I didn't resist these temptations when I was younger. I must rely upon prayer and the blood of Christ for forgiveness. Have mercy on us sinners God.

Its a tough subject thats for sure. Problem with masturbation is that sexual gratification is a bodily need like sleep, food and water. And before someone gets married, theres no way not to sin, you can evade, postpone, but eventually you will fall. Your very biology works against you. Its like trying not to eat anymore.
Its a sin thats for sure because when our Lord Jesus spoke context mattered a lot. First He mentioned lust, then your eyes and hand causing you to stumble. He almost certainly spoke of masturbation. If someone cant get married, he is in bad position.
Since when i got baptized and gave myself more to our Lord, i feel guilty and sinful after giving in. Im trying to stay away but i find myself excusing and using mental gymnastics to justify myself. I hate myself for it.
I dont blame God in any way, its our fault for loving pleasures, we dont want to do hard sacrifices, even though Jesus went through hardest sacrifices to save us. May God have mercy on us.
It is not like food, sleep and water mate. You will not die if you do not masturbate. If we really believe that we would die if we masturbate, we would never do that again. I think the reason we fall to that sin it is just that we do not believe enough to make us want to fight. The motivation is not that strong.
May God have mercy on us brother! Although I disagree with your claim about sexual gratification being bodily need that we all "have to" fall into at some point. It's not the same as food an water. People have lived and died without sexual gratification. Its not a need. The more we place these things as something we need, the more they become strongholds. God ordained sex to be in the
context marriage, but He didn't set us up so that we would be in eternal torment until we get married. We can be free from these lustful desires by the mighty hand of God.
I really believe in deliverance. Sometimes, we're not dealing with the flesh and we need someone to pray over us and take authority over the enemy in spiritual warfare.
James 4:7 says "submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you". Many times, when we have tried cutting off our left hands or right eyes, if the sin persists, we need to resist the devil in combat (aka prayer).
O dear brother Sexual gratification is NOT NECESSARY FOR LIFE. GOD gives the ability for procreation & pleasure between husband & wife only. No one has ever died for lack of sexual gratification. You deceive yourself if you believe that. You can’t blame your eyes or your hand they don’t act w/o you engaging , it requires your Self Control.. LISTEN TO TIM’S WORDS… telling what GOD says.

Needs are not just what we require to physically survive but also what we need to be motivated, content, sane enough to have the will to survive and commit to honoring God. We are wired with never-ending desires for pleasure, and if we don't seek ultimate pleasure in God and the experience of lesser pleasures with his glory in mind then we are sinning. For someone to have sexual desires and vainly try to suppress them rather than yielding them to God in indulgence and in attempts at abstinence and repentance when they fail is for them to sin.
Your argument is technically true that without masturbation one will not die, yet people are addicted to various things as coping mechanisms for misery that they feel would make life unlivable if they had nothing to resort to. So if sexual gratification is so strong a desire / coping mechanism that life is unbearably miserable without some taste of it, which is the case for most people, then it can be categorized as some level of need even if what they need to suffer better with the deprivation of gratification which requires some competing substitute not just spiritual conviction. Masturbation is wrong but it wouldn't be a legit temptation if sexual gratification wasn't a need but for some but merely a desired that can be extinguished with will power.
We would all commit suicide or let ourselves waste away with no will to live if we were so depressed with misery that we saw no hope of recovery or things turning around in our favor so that we could be happy. So whatever keeps us going while minimizing our sin is a need. We need times of leisure so that we don't become so stressed that we cannot work with a positive attitude without snapping angrily at people or being too tired, anxious, and irritable to function, for instance.
Also, God gave us marriage with sexual pleasure in mind as well as sanctification, so some people need to be married in order to satisfy their natural, God-given sexual desires without sinning.

I agree, marriage is God given to man and woman to sexually please each other, besides building life together and having common goals. Marriage when good its the best thing in the world. Sadly i wont ever manage to get married, unless God does a miracle.

These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism (severe self-discipline and avoidance of all forms of indulgence) and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh

I don't agree with the connection between fantasizing about being with someone, and just taking the pressure off of the genitalia. It can become as simple as a raw bodily function and then it just gets done in seconds. But it doesn't have that same feeling that you get after defecation or urination, which is absolutely necessary. It feels more like there was something that you could have said NO to, instead of surrendering to the flesh. And there's where the problem is, because after that happens, that voluntary capitulation to the urge, even without the lustful thouhgts of another person with you in your mind, there is a feeling of separation of the sweetness of the fellowship with Yeshua Messiah. It's a feeling that I am not satisfied with just being single without being drawn into the occasional rush of needing to relieve one's self of the drive.
I thank God for the victories each time I overcome the drive to submit to the flesh, and I pray immediately and start to listen to praise music and singing praisrs, the lust flees.
Where would you draw the line between sexual attraction to the opposite sex vs lust for the opposite sex? It’s said you should feel sexual attraction to the opposite sex to want to marry the person, but where is the line between these two?
Im sure you wanted this pastors answer but anyway. Noticing and feeling like someone is beautiful is normal, turning them into an object of self gratification via explicit mental images in your mind is where it goes over the line, or when you are giving yourself over to the thoughts and letting the desire reign over you.

My problem is that I don’t have love. I don’t LOVE women. I’ve ONLY EVER LUSTED after women…I don’t even like people at all anymore, but I especially don’t like most women.
My prayer has been for more love in my life for decades, but I have not received. I truly feel nothing for people. I serve God out of a sense of obligation, and not out of love. I avoid evil out of a HATRED of evil doers and satan, not out of love for God or anyone else…
There’s no answer I can see for that. If you don’t love God, if you don’t love people, there’s nothing you can DO about it. People say, love is a CHOICE, so I’ve been doing things for God and for people, out of sense of obligation. I’ve been serving people and God, but I don’t LOVE them. So I don’t think it is a choice. I think you either love someone or you don’t. And if you don’t, what can you do about it?
The internet is the tool that satan is using to catch and kill us all. That’s what nets and webs are used for.
Hey, God bless you. I think the virtue of love is something you need to learn from God directly, being that He is the author and complete embodiment of love. I feel so much love when i pray and worship in His presence that it overflows not only in my love for Him, but in my love for others.
I don't know you, so forgive me if my assumptions may not be spot on. But I perceive that you struggle with having a true relationship with God. Religion is no good substitute for a relationship, and God wants your heart more than he desires your sacrifice. You need to sacrifice out of a heart of love, unless it is void.
There is a reason why Love God with all your heart and love your neighbour as yourself are the most important commandment to Jesus Christ.
If you really want to learn to love God, you need to pray to Him and treat Hum like He is your Father. Like He is loving, forgiving and generous.
Early on when I got saved, I had a similar thing like you where I found it hard to really love God and love others. So I prayed to Him like He was a God that listened and like He was mighty enough to change my heart.
I was open and transparent. He knows my heart anyway, so I didn't think to hide my feelings. I told Hod straight up, I don't feel like I love you as I should, and I don't think I love others as I should.
Today, I've grown and God has really changed my heart in such a short span of time. God is all powerful, and he can turn the hardest hearts soft in love. He just needs you to be sincere that you need His help and He will rescue you 10 times out of 10. Praise Jesus! God bless you, and I pray for God's love to overflow in your life. See you in heaven!
I think you are 100% right. I do struggle to have a real relationship with God. I’ve been struggling for 24 years at it… and I have not attained to a good relationship with God. He is a refining fire and a terror to me all the day and night. I live in constant fear of Him and His terrible judgements.
I have cried out to Him at the top of my lungs for understanding and wisdom and understanding, but I have not received it. I have shouted at the top of my lungs for more love, because I’m cursed without it, but He has shut himself in from my prayers and has not heard my cries or responded.

Hi, I read your earlier comments about your difficulty in loving God and others and being that this is a crucial issue, I pray that you get to the root of your malady.
First things first, you need a clear definition of what love is biblically if you don't know. Loving God biblically means embracing objective truths about who he is based on how he is described in the Bible and with that knowledge valuing him and desiring him above all.
So, you must know God as the self-existent, everlasting, supreme, perfect, 3 Persons in 1 entity who never changes, who is the very standard of good and governs all things in his creation for good, and who has always been perfectly satisfied in his loving, hierarchical relationship between the Father, the Son who submits to the Father, and the Holy Spirit who submits to the Father and the Son, though they are all equal in power, wisdom, and righteousness. This is a summarized description of who God essentially is.
From God's holy nature and perfectly satisfied state, he decided to create the universe with the earth and his relationships with mankind at the center, intending that when we were corrupted by sin after the disobedience of Adam, the Father would eventually send Jesus his Son into the earth through a virgin's miraculous birth to fulfill the law that no other human could and then die on a cross in torture while bearing our sins on himself to suffer the Father's wrath as if he had lived all of our lives. Jesus was buried and then raised to life again so that those who are exposed to the Gospel whom he died for will be made spiritually reborn by the Holy Spirit and then given repentance and faith to place in Jesus in order to be completely forgiven, justified, reconciled to God, adopted, and sealed forever into God's family, and then gradually made holy and preserved by his grace through their faith until Jesus returns with the security of an eternal spot in Heaven in the meantime.
If you have this knowledge and you sincerely appreciate what Jesus did for sinners and you desire to never sin again and be totally free to commit your life to God not out of fear of Hell but a desire to be with him and enjoy him for all the love he has bestowed even though you didn't deserve it and could never earn it, then God has saved you and caused you to love him and has began a work in you that he will complete. If you have the knowledge that I have shared and you still want to live in sin and you don't desire to be free from it and spend eternity enjoying God then you don't yet love God in a saving way and you are still in deep trouble and need to give your attention to these things in the Bible and pray relentlessly until you die because nothing is more important.
If you have assurance of salvation then you love God and desire him more than anything, yet you may struggle to feel his love for you and / or to feel consistently and strongly passionate about him which is also a command. You can't rightly serve God and other people without that value of him being supreme in your heart even if you don't always feel it, and you can't rightly serve others if you don't have at the forefront of your mind and heart the desire that they be saved and go to Heaven with you to enjoy God forever.
That's ultimately what it means to love people, and when you desire for them to be in Heaven enjoying God forever and you can contribute to their growth in holiness and well-being in any way even at costs to yourself then you start to make efforts practically and biblically.
