      I tend to agree but we did see Jones bully ppl in the run game from the right side. We should obviously just play at left whoever proves to be the better pass protector

    • @mariahe.p3661
      @mariahe.p3661 17 дней назад

      It’s his natural position as well as the chemistry he has throughout college with Darnell Washington who most always is lined up on the left side but with new coaching and schemes that could change and he’s much larger then Troy just my opinion but overall I’m happy with whatever is the best fit and let me say this is a good problem to have lol

    Exactly why the whole "he can sit and learn behind X" argument is dumb. When the 5th year option comes up and the guy never played, teams aren't picking it up based on 'potential' anymore

    Could the reason why a back-up QB takes the initiative and does his own training be because the contract with the NFLPA doesn't allow players to be on the clock over a certain amount of hours?

    • @Kovatt2
      @Kovatt2 17 дней назад

      Could be, but I doubt it. I don't really know though...but what I do know is I'd want a QB2 like that on my team in a New York minute!! That's one rule I wouldn't give a rats arse if he broke or not...give me that piece of mind sitting behind my starter so if the time comes I KNOW that guy is ready! That's a "go getter" right there for ya!
      Well done, whomever you are!

    • @WordAte
      @WordAte 17 дней назад

      The decision will be based on who is the best pass blocker and the positional flexibility of the tackles.. Most pass rushers come from the offense's left side because it is the blind side for most QBs.
      Since the best pass rusher in our division comes against the left tackle, the better pass blocker will play left, provided both have positional flexibility. We know Jones has positional flexibility. Fautanu is a really smart guy. I would be willing to bet he would easily make the transition to right tackle too.
      I think Jones is the better pass blocker of the two. I am not sure. To be honest, they are both great at everything. I want them both happy and comfortable so they can make their pancakes for the Steelers diners.

    As a Chargers fan, I’m excited about drafting Ladd McConkey. BUT I would’ve rather had Nabers @ #5 & a 2nd round OT. I’m actually very disappointed they didn’t draft Nabers because he fills the vacancy of Keenan & Williams

    • @crex6090
      @crex6090 17 дней назад +2

      the second round OT would barely be an upgrade over Pipkins. They made the right decision. The OT falloff was much more drastic than the WR falloff

    • @WordAte
      @WordAte 17 дней назад

      Both McConkey and Naber can be a top ten receiver in the league at some point in their careers.. McConkey, Naber, and Alt will all start game one this year. Tyler Guyton was the last tackle taken in the first round. He is unrefined with a high possible ceiling. He will be a starter next year, maybe this year. The first tackle taken in the second round was Patrick Paul who might make be good enough this year to serve as the swing tackle. Unless there is an injury, he won't see a start for a couple of years.
      Alt and McConkey will likely see several pro-bowls. So will Nabers. Guyton might. Paul is unlikely to.
      Alt then McConkey is the right move.

    • @hokieduck
      @hokieduck 11 дней назад

      Noooooo. This was a tremendous draft.
      Had they taken a WR at #5 (I think Rome Odunze is twice the receiver that Malik Nabers is, plus Nabers has attitude issues), every single top tier OT would have been gone at #37/34 (nine OLs/seven OTs went in the first round). The Bolts would've ended up with Trey Pipkins still playing RT for maybe an entire year. That would have engendered zero fear in the hearts of opponents and they would have known that Harbaugh is full of 💩.
      The thought of Harbaugh taking an NFL job and the first move he makes is to take a wide receiver (while talking nonstop to anyone and everyone about how he is going to build a running, pounding, tough team from the trenches out) would have been apostasy.
      Finally, Nabers is *nothing* like Keenan Allen. Ladd McConkey is the exact WR that the Chargers need on Day One. He is a younger, faster, more explosive Keenan Allen. Getting freaking Brenden Rice in the SEVENTH (!!!!!!!!!!) Round is teetering on insanity. Then adding the very guy who led Harbaugh's receiver room for three years and a Natty at the end of the Seventh? Cray.

      I can see 3-5 starters max. Depends on how rice and hart will turn out. Vidal will be the perfect backup RB and to our power run game. He will be our darren sproles. Eboigbe and Still will be our depth/rotation guys. To say they all will have significant NFL careers when 5 of them are bench guys is a stretch.

    • @hokieduck

      @@OGTirpleOG
      "Starters" does not mean immediate, rather within three years, generally speaking. Nonetheless: Alt. McConkey. Colson. All three will start on Day One.
      Cam Hart and/or Tarheeb Still should start, maybe even this year.
      Brenden Rice. Will start and I bet he will start sooner than later. I would not be surprised to see a lot of Cornelius Johnson this year also. That room will be kind of hard to call out "starters" as there will be a lot of touches going around there.
      Keep in mind that QJ is not one of Harbaugh's guys. Didn't pick him and he doesn't have the skill set that Harbaugh covets (compare him to Cornelius who has good hands and is a 4.4 guy and a tremendous blocking wideout, compared to 4.3 QJ with oven mitts for hands and never gets in the way of a charging safety). I would not be surprised if Harbaugh traded QJ, as someone in that 7-man wide receiver room has to go. I think Derius is too valuable as a returner now that the new rules takes kickoff returns from 10% returned to 90%. I also still think that DD has tremendous value in the offense if they scheme him up so as not to get hit coming off the line.
