Anytime I see a throwback catalog or magazine I click immediately! It's like a tingly time machine. ❤️😴
It is a Time Machine! 😁
im 17 yrs old but i still enjoy watching these types of videos that you make. my grandma used to tell me all about stuff like this and let me have her sewing machine, her clothes from the 70s, and partially is responsible for why i luv fashion history today, but she sadly passed in 2020. listening to u reminisce about your earlier life with this magazine reminds me of her and i appreciate it a lot cause i miss her alot. tysm for this
Aw, this is so sweet, and I appreciate you sharing this with me. Hugs to you!

Jeannie! Please stop worrying about how loud the pages are! Don’t apologize for that because it is actually one of the main attractions for us. 👍🏻
I’m having a rough day today and I have no clue why but just like a baby I instantly stopped sobbing when I saw that you posted. Haha I hope you have a wonderful day!
Aw, honey. It’s ok! I have days like that, too! Here’s a hug!!
Just found out my 7 year old German shepherd has terminal cancer. This is just what I needed to relax. Thank you.
I’m so very sorry! Our pets take up such a large part of our hearts - forever. Sending you a big hug!
i’m 15 but i live and breathe all things 40s-80s.i love these videos you make it makes me so happy to have a topic i enjoy to fall asleep to, it makes me even more relaxed! all the items were so beautiful back then, i wish they still made clothes with the quality and style of back then i’d buy up the whole stock!
Thanks for this journey back to the 70s! I grew up in the 70s and graduated high school in ‘77. The 70s was the BEST decade ever!
Yes! You’re my generation!!
I'm 24 and I absolutely love these videos and your voice ! Going back in time with you is amazing 🥹💓
Many of these styles are back! I see them all over the internet! Funny how that happens. As a kid in the 70’s I loved looking through these catalogs. Thank you for sharing! ❤
You look absolutely beautiful today!❤❤❤
That lipstick is perfect for you!
😘
Here to say the same thing -- Jeannie's lipstick is FAB!!
yeah but her hands are 95
@@jamesgossens6853 Were you raised by wolves? Take a hike, buddy.
@James Gossens Luckily, actual hateful people like you will just be blocked. No one needs to give you the attention you so sorely lack in real life around here.
Those braided rugs definitely brought back memories. I remember a big one on the floor of my grandfather’s house.
1970 i was four 😂 agree that when you look back at the fashion's some do make you giggle. Was great that. Lots of crinkles
The end message was so sweet and powerful thank you Jeannie we love and appreciate you ❤😢
Thank YOU, Ardelia!
Love old catalog videos! And I really enjoy the sounds the no-longer-fresh paper makes as it ages.
I also found a bunch of old fashion catalogs amongst my old things, granted they're not too old because they're from the late 90s and early 2000s, but what I found very interesting is that I was looking through them and I still remembered or recognized certain articles that I had really wanted back then as a teenager. Our memory really is very deep and surprising, it can register an infinite amount of even the smallest things :D
That is so true! Something is triggered when looking at things like this!
I don’t even look at the caption anymore- I just click! 😂🫶
Aw, you made me laugh, luv!
Me too!
Same 😂I just get so excited when I see Jeannie made a new video
Me too, or I'll look forward to it later in the day like dessert 😂
same!
I received a 1970s Barbie today in the mail and now this video made my day!
That’s so cool!!!
I think your the only ASMR artist that makes me sleepy 😂. I love your videos so much keep doing what your doing ❤❤
That is the highest of compliments!! 😍🥰😘
Your skin is amazing!!!! Like it is so glowy I wished I had it🥹🥹
I was born in 1988 and just love these time travel type videos of yours!
Perfect timing ☺️ it’s midnight in Germany and I was just getting ready to go to bed.
Jeannie, you mentioned a couple of times that you were a seamstress for your daughter’s special occasions. I would love to see a sewing ASMR video and to learn more about what makes clothes better quality.
Many dear greetings and much love for you and your family
XO
Some day! 😘 🧵 🪡
Thank you so much for all you do!
I'll never tire of your vintage videos or your voice!
Much love to you❤❤❤😊
Thank you, sweetie! I appreciate this!

You deserve so many subscribers. I have only a few people I watch to relax and even comfort me. You are one of the top two. I can’t pick favorites. 😂 I love the old catalogues. Me and my grandmother would sit and do that for hours on end when I was a child. I wish they were relevant today as they were back then. You have no idea how much of a grace you are to me. Having my first child in less than 9 weeks; you calm me. Thank you. Deeply. ❤
Thank you so much for this, Leia! ♥️♥️♥️
This lip makeup looks incredible on you
Thank you!! Lipstick 💄
These wonderful catalogue videos you do take asmr relaxation to another level, they are absolute classics. The asthetics of the late 60s and early 70s are fantastic also.❤️
Love and light to you Jeannie
Thank you so much! (Love your YT name, btw!!)
These old magazine videos are the best
Thanks, Miguel!
I was just 8 in 1970 but I remember getting a pair of white(sorry, Jeannie) patent leather shiny boots with the buckle across the top of my foot & a little heel..loved my "go-go" boots❤😊
I’m so jealous! You got the white boots! 👢 lol! 😂
WOW how refreshing can you get? A beautiful classy, soft spoken lady taking me on a trip back through time! What a concept in this day and age. I love your diamonds, and especially the cantaloupe story:) I have a 1966 John Plain catalog I inherited from a neighbor that is similar. I look through it sometimes, and believe it or not, it is hardbound. I didn't know that they did that back then. I'm going to love your channel!
Well, it’s great to have you here, Mitch. Welcome! 🤗
There’s so many things in there I love and would wear today 😊
If Princes Diana had a twin, you would be her. You are the spitting image of the late princess. Love the tingles btwwww 💓
I love these types of videos, especially from the 70s. I actually like the kids clothes but you're right about the shoes. lol
Haha!! 👞
I love your magazine flip throughs the best. You’re voice and countenance so gentle. I love listening to your observations as you flip through. This was an excellent ASMR video. Thank you, Jeannie!! ❤
I truly appreciate this! Thank you so much!
So much fun Jeannie! The “bulletproof” girdles 😂and the tipping swing sets were vivid memories. Thanks once more for a glimpse back in time and your always entertaining comments❤
Hello 👋
And they WERE bulletproof! Poor women who had to wear them! Thanks for watching, dear Susan!
I forgot to mention my childhood fleur-de-lis bedroom cafe curtains that made me smile when I saw some in your video. Sweet memories thanks to you😘😘😘
@@JeannieBASMR you’re right!
It’s funny that you mention how hot polyester fabric is! I totally agree. Lately, it seems like every time I see a cute shirt or dress pop up on a certain app. the clothes are made of polyester! The fabric is not real comfortable. I have to pay more for cotton now.
Unbreathable fabric is hard to wear! Yikes! 🔥
I absolutely LOVE this era in fashion, wow!!
I think it would be super interesting to have a look to old toy magazines. I always love going through them before Christmas and it seems that it is an area where things have changed a lot threw the decades
You could show up with some stereo instructions and I would still listen 😂❤
I loved this SO much! Please do a late 80s early 90s!!!
Im almost 20 but i enjoy this category of videos so much!
You're so pretty !have a nice day/night !😊
Thank you, luv!
Such a nice trip into the 70s ! I loved the stiffness of the pages, nice crinkles !❤
And the flowers (both the tulips and the roses) at the beginning of the video are absolutely gorgeous !
I’m glad you couldn’t smell this horrible odor coming off the pages! Lol!
Thank you, my dearest!!
The throwback catalog/magazine videos are my absolute favorite 💕
I'm fairly certain that the cottage my great-grandparents (and subsequently grandparents) owned was bought as a kit from the Eaton's (Canadian company) catalog in the 1950s. It was put together like a life-size Lincoln Log set. I remember the Sears catalogs growing up, especially the Wish Book. My brother and I would fold down corners and circle all the toys we wanted for Christmas every year.
Cool story! Those wish books were awesome! And yes, Sears sold Craftsman homes! What a time in history...
Fantastic episode. Thanks Jeannie.
Lovely, relaxing walk down memory lane, but I couldn’t help but notice before I fell asleep, “Why are there no people of color in this catalog?” Wow, how far we’ve come since 1970.
Exactly! I love that we have more diversity in all ways in most magazines now.
Love all your content Jeannie, but these flip through videos are my fav! Especially the vintage ones! Your commentary is so interesting!
Someone wrote a hilarious blog post about a 1970s Pennys catalog. The language was a bit colorful, but it’s pretty funny. It made the rounds in corporate America. 😂
So looovely😍 I noticed that your videos help me concentrate, especially when I'm studying. It calms my mind, makes me feel complete. It's like we're soulmates💕 I have been watching other asmr videos, listening to classical pieces however none of them calmed and interested me like yours. Thank you so much for sharing your precious thoughts and moments with us❤
I love all of your videos! You have such a kind and friendly energy ✨️! I always get the warm fuzzies each time I watch! ❤
Ohhh how I love those bright colors and that style of clothing in general (I'm 24)!! I would LOVE to find a website that sells retro clothing like this I swear I would buy so much from it... all those dresses, skirts and even shoes are so my thing! except for that I would prefer cotton and linen over polyester ofc😅
I agree! (Well, mostly! 😁)
love your channel . ...your voice is so beautiful 😍
I especially like the catalogue look throughs ....
That Jc penney is in amazing condition for 50 yrs old ...
the colour of the print is amazing quality....better stuff years ago....no its all cheap ...
My favorites of your videos are the retro catalog/magazine ones. They are so relaxing but also stir up memories of childhood 😊
every time i see your videos i smile! they’re so comforting and your energy is amazing🫶💗
I just love the 70s!
The early 70’s dresses are sooo cute
They are!! 🧡
I love these magazine flip throughs that you do ❤️
I enjoy listening to your commentary, reading and general description of what's in the magazines you go through on your channel. I've been blind for a couple of years now and it's always nice when there's some soft spoken dialogue accompanying these type of videos. Thank you~
Wow, thank you! And I’ll do my best to be more descriptive if you think that would help.
@@JeannieBASMR It's good just the way it is, so don't worry. It's the relaxing and casual way these videos are; if I want something to be super described and detailed it's usually for something that's really necessary, such as for work or how my immediate environment is laid out.
And here I just realized I had meant this comment for the 1940 Good Housekeeping magazine video, must've mis-clicked, but it works just as well for this one too.
I wish I knew someone like you when I was growing up 💜thanks for sharing your spirit
♥️🥰♥️
You are incredible! Thank you for your hard work! 😌
I love your "walk through history" videos 🧡 It's so interesting to see how it was in the 70's ! And your anecdotes of course 😊

You’re so beautiful ! Thank you for making these relaxing videos. They help me on days of extreme anxiety ❤😊
your catalogue videos are my favorite!!! i love looking at past fashion and hearing your commentary😄and the crinkly magazine paper is divine❤
So glad you enjoy it!
The transition between the 1960s and 1970s is overt.
You are s beautiful you remind me a lot of princess Diana same kind and beautiful aura ❤
Thank you!!
After such a stressful day, your timing was perfection! I've been lulled to comfort and just before bed time too. 💜💙
So very glad!!
You are the female voice so many of us desperately need. Thank you.❤
I love that! Thank you!
Her voice makes me feel like I’m back in the first grade, sitting on the reading rug while our teacher read to us 🥲
I love that!!
Jeannie, I can't tell you how OBSESSED I am with the 70s videos! I rewatch them all the time 💜
Awesome, Tika! I'm so glad!
So great to reminisce!
Living in England in the middle of nowhere as a child, I had to wait for the London fashions to reach us. Sometimes they never did, so I always looked forward to my London cousins sending their cast-offs. I didn't like the fabrics though, all that static and nylon. Now I love to wear cotton and linen and bamboo fabrics :o)
That sounds way more comfortable than that rayon! 😁
I stumbled upon your channel a few months ago and you have helped me so much with my anxiety and just taking a step back from my chaotic life. Watching your videos on vintage catalogs and words of inspiration/advice bring me so much joy. You feel like someone I know and will know for the rest of my days. You are very generous and I appreciate what you do for so many in the world. Thank you mis Jeannie
This is the sweetest! Thank you and I’m very glad you’re here, dear Olivia! And that these help calm you a bit. ♥️🌸🌸♥️
I love your videos so much! Whenever I’m having a bad day I feel like I can count on you, and your videos to help me feel better ❤️
That makes me so happy, Laura!
looooove your old catalog/magazines videos. i know they’re supposed to put me to sleep but i couldn’t be more awake, paying attention to everything 😅
Aw, maybe second time around they will knock you out!
I have a bed just like the pink one with the canopy!
Jeannie you are so glowing and gorgeous
Thank you so much! 😘
Oh my goodness that lipstick color is so amazing on you! Works beautifully on you!
love your "vintage" magazine and catalogue vids!💕
good Thursday morning Jeannie
Man I miss the old days sometimes. Apparently even the 70s before I even existed.😂 The catalog days were fun and every Christmas we would get one. I think the mid 90s, they were already going extinct.😞 Excellent video!
Thank you, Julie! Yes, I miss these catalogs coming in the mail. Scrolling on the internet is not the same.

These are my fav videos of yours! Soo relaxing! I would love to see a video where you show old pictures of yourself and tell us about the moments they were taken in 🥰
Thank you for another page turning video! I’m just now seeing this and can’t wait to watch!
Awesome! 🥰

for someone loving and dressing in vintage seventies clothing this was absolutely amazing! 🤎🧡💛
I nearly passed out seeing the braided rugs. My grandparents had those exact ones in every single room of their house haha
🥰🤣
YAAAAY my favorite type of video from you!!!

I just turned 22 on the 23rd. I've always been fascinated by all things vintage, especially the style and music. I love all of your stories and that you combine it with ASMR. 🫶🏻

I hope you fall asleep, friend!! XOX
Hi Jeanie, Michele posting. You just brought me back to my childhood. I remember the swing set and see saw I had in my backyard. Our swing set posts had to be practically CEMENTED into the ground because my oldest brother, my sister and I (along with some neighborhood friends) would have challenges/compatitions on who could swing the highest then JUMP off it to see who could land the farthest without falling and getting hurt (let along breaking a bone). How we SURVIVED the 70's as kids is a total MYSTERY to me, BUT we had a BLAST while enjoying being outside verses these kids today who rely on social media and other computer devices for entertainment instead. TY for sharing this.... "-)
Right?! I mean, I totally get all the knee pads and helmets and other bodily pads kids wear when they do ANY activity nowadays, but part of me laughs! (A big part!) I think of how we climbed roofs and tested how far out on the peak over the driveway we could get, how we rode our bikes with other kids on the handlebars, how we mangled our bare toes in the spokes of the tires, and on and on. Kids are so protected these days that I wonder if they really learn consequences from stupid actions?! Without pads, you learn! Lol!
Thank you so much for the fastest 40 minutes I've spent in a long time! This was such a pleasurable trip down memory lane. 😃
Glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
love this!!! thanks for the video :)
I Love those dresses! I really gasped when I saw some prices, 11$ for a raincoat??? Unreal!
Right?!
Thank you Jeannie for the amazing content you make! ❤️🫶🏻
You are so very welcome, luv!
❤Those roses are lovely. And we get a discount. What more could you ask for. And the lady showing us the flowers is even More lovely. Love my Jeannie. XO . God bless you, my friend.
Awww…and I have the BEST community of wonderful people like YOU, my flower!

Ooookay, just my snarky thoughts" 😆
🤦🏼♀️ I can’t help myself sometimes! 🤣
@@JeannieBASMR don’t ever change! ❤️
Oh that was delightful. As you say, it's a miracle we're still alive to tell the tales of the 70's given how deadly everything was! If we weren't cut to shreds on the swing set, then we melted in the nylon dresses...Hahahahaha! I remember a fabric called 'chrimplene'. My mum said it never creased but the only way to destroy it was by fire and even then it would melt into a toxic puddle...🤦♀🤣 Thanks for the memories - especially the fashions. My mum was sewing a lot of these styles for my sisters.
This made me laugh! And yes, my mom sewed these for me as well!! 🤣
