Honestly thought she would get ready and just continue to perfect it all night just showing how it won’t leave her mind at all even when she’s doing something
So much of what Elisabeth goes through could have been mitigated by a single supportive, loving voice. She has none. The scene of her lying in the shower, pleading with her brain/mind to stop being so cruel to her body… that really hits home. It makes sense that Sue has no love for Elisabeth because Elisabeth has no love for herself. In that way, she and Sue are absolutely “one”
It really seems inevitable for anyone that takes The Substance. You've got to have some degree of self hate to want to take it. Elisabeth had made her living based on her body and appearance. She began to hate that body and herself simply because she was doing something that everyone does, which is age. Having Sue would only make that worse because she's a constant reminder to Elisabeth of why she already hates herself.
@@82Jaster She didn't hate herself because of age. She was perfectly fine until she heard that jerk, and he and others started bringing her down for it. All the while he and the other dudes aren't exactly Ken. And notice that most people who makes her feel like crap, except her other self, are men.

Absolutely. The self hatred is real in her. And how stuck she was in the same by going back to host the show. How Sue kept getting more disgusted with Elisabeth and hated how she "just layed in front of the TV eating". And then Elisabeth on her end not finding anything to fill her days, no purpose other than waiting those 7 days to switch again

I feel like Elisabeth's expression on Monstro Elisasue is a nod to the infamous final scene in Sleepaway Camp. It's an expression that's etched into any horror fans mind if they've seen that scene.

People needed to experience this in the movie theater. This is one of those films you had to experience in the theater with an audience. I saw it 4 times at the movie theater, and it's one of the best movie experiences I've ever been through.
One of the things that messed me up the most about this movie, was how Elisasue was... there, in front of everybody, both Elisabeth AND Sue literally disintegrating in front of everyone... and just because there was an image of Elisabeth smiling put in place, nobody noticed. Or decided to ignore it. I'm probably reading too much into it, but in my opinion, it effectively shows that thing about not knowing what's going on in the mind/heart of a person, because they always smile. That's how I see it, maybe I'm wrong, but it really stayed with me.
I think a cool detail they include was in the beginning with the egg yolks, with the second one created, it’s more round and “perfect” Showing exactly what the substance does

I saw this movie on theaters and it just make me hate people even more. A lot of man were laughing. And of course most of woman were identifying at some level with Elizabeth. I'm not saying that she didn't fuck it up but if you can't see what the movie is triying to say about how woman are mistreated ... your just oblivious.
Loved your reaction!! Loved your humor!! Loved your thought provoking takes!! Loved the fashions i.e 🐉 robe+💛coat. Glad the algorithm did its thing to stumble across this channel. Deliciously disgusting this film is! It has style+substance🧪💉A social commentary on aging with body horror elements using practical effects, impeccable sound+editing. No amount of change will ever be enough to appease everyone much less undeserving, misogynistic men who do not actually appreciate women for who they are, but only how fckable they deem women to be. Sue represents the younger version of Elisabeth, still impressionable, full of faux confidence bc the patriarchy has beholden a woman’s value to beauty and youth, still fertile. Elisabeth chases her youth in the form of Sue much like someone that keeps running back to the plastic surgeon’s office. And there are consequences bc one begins to stray so far from their original appearance, dare I say monstrous. The violence we put ourselves through comparing ourselves to our own younger version of ourselves when we look at pics of us a decade ago. We must be kinder to ourselves. I like that her yellow coat symbolized the egg in the beginning and then we see Sue wearing the coat to emphasize they are one post injection. *Outward beauty, but inner ugliness to thyself. The enemy is the inner me🩷🩷

I will say this; this movie was straight up disgusting all the way through. I remembered walking out of the theater after the first few minutes. But I just watched it again recently and even though this was a grotesque vomit inducing film for me, it really captured the exact feeling that so many of us women feel when we’re only seen for our bodies and not for us as people. It was satire and a tragedy all in one film. Demi Moore truly nailed this role and deserved the Oscar for it. Plus the practical effects were brilliant too. Amazing reaction to this film!

It’s never happened. 🙄 Ignore me, I’m just so severely upset by this dark, dark day that I’ve kind of lost my faith in humanity…and I’m very jaded….cause I’ve been married for years. And she’s….WONDERFUL. 😐😂
BEST REVEIW! You two are my favorite.🥰
Loved your reaction. 😂This movie is an absolute gem.
oh thank you so much for uploading your first watch of this excellent movie on this terrible, terrible day
People needed to experience this in the movie theater. This is one of those films you had to experience in the theater with an audience. I saw it 4 times at the movie theater, and it's one of the best movie experiences I've ever been through.
Random thought; but I'm kinda curious what people will think when they clear out her apartment and find those two bodies there
4:43 omg! Yes! That’s exactly what it’s like watching mukbangs, I completely agree with Cody. 😂😂😂
AMAZING MOVIE! Saw it in theaters and loved it immediately. Thanks for reacting to it. ❤
Oh wow I just understood the 'The Fly' reference 😅
4:29 I CANTTT LMFAOUSHHAA IM CRACKING UP YALL FACIAL EXPRESSION 😭😭😭😭😭
I wasn't crazy about this film but I am enjoying the reactions to it
I think a cool detail they include was in the beginning with the egg yolks, with the second one created, it’s more round and “perfect”
Showing exactly what the substance does
This is one of the best reactions yet It was hilarious but oh so cringy. that body horror got to me. So glad u made this video!!
Yoooooo, just found you guys! Your channel is now my substance 😂
I don’t know why it took so long to come by your channel, but here I am! Going to dig through your channel like the old me clawing out of my body 🫣 👏🏻
Edit: I have to say this reminded me of Requiem for a Dream. Anyone else feel that 😅
Cheers!
I feel like the trailer alone had me intrigued. So happy to see your reactions. Older demi makes me think of the witches movie from the 90s.
Demi in that FULL BODY PROSTHETIC?!? Queen rocked it.
I have watched about a dozen reviews since watching the movie. You are the first channel I've seen that has mentioned Death Becomes Her! One of my first thoughts was, "NOW a warning??)!
I've been waiting for this reaction!! YAY!!
I don't know if body horror is really of a trigger for me... But I've never been more entertained watching a movie, holy shit.
It's literally my barbie movie ❤
the writer and director are the same person, coralie fargeat :)
It’s 2 am now I was going to sleep, now I’m gonna have smoke and watch you guys 😭🫶🏻
6:07 "that was *so* subtle" yeah this flick really puts the B in subtle and i love her for it
I can't tell you how happy it makes me I'm not the only one who thought of Jimbo's schtinkfinger!
The clapping at the end “we love you” 😂😂😂
Myghad, i just finished watching this and said to myself to never rewatch this! And here i saw u reacting, and here i am rewatching it with youuuu! Hahahaha i mean this movie is really insane!!!!
Me after seeing break downs and reviews of this movie and just waiting and watching for the reaction, sitting back while I put my hands together and maniacally laughing. Just waiting for the reaction
This movie was so well made and such a good message too. I loved it 100/10 ❤🎉
I saw this movie on theaters and it just make me hate people even more. A lot of man were laughing.
And of course most of woman were identifying at some level with Elizabeth.
I'm not saying that she didn't fuck it up but if you can't see what the movie is triying to say about how woman are mistreated ... your just oblivious.
Ignorant
Been waiting for your reactions!!!! This is my fav horror movie of the year (replacing The First Omen).
The best reaction to one of the best films I've ever seen. Awesome job guys.
Oh yes thanks for reacting to the substance was a good movie 😊
The enemy is the inner me🩷🩷
this film is what "Everything Everywhere All at Once" was 2 years ago, as I was watching my mind was like: "I've NEVER seen something like this in my life"
and also, Demi Moore is fckng HOT and INCREDIBLE
I hope they can react Alien: Romulus (2024) very soon 😊
This movie is so good, Demi was fantastic
This reaction of you guys is one of the best I have seen!
Wowww it really reminds me of the fly
Literally just finished watching for my 3d time. This time was streamed with mom via FaceTime. Still bangs, Still amazing, and cannot wait to see this couple react... lol
Entre más resúmenes veo más quiero ver esta película, solamente no sabía lo audible que era... Eso creo que no lo soportaré cualquier día de la semana jajajaja la veré cuando esté en calma
I loved this movie so much, but I enjoyed your reactions to it even more 😂
I will say this; this movie was straight up disgusting all the way through.
I got Carrie and The Shining vibes from this, with the orange hallway and then the ending with all the blood while she wears a prom like dress
