That bugged me lol. I think maybe he wasn't in the right mood or something, he seems to have forgotten he was actually laughing the entire time... This was a great movie, hilarious, glad the other two enjoyed it

The aunt was taking it so seriously because the last person to die in this game 30 years prior was HER NEW HUSBAND. He was the one in the goat pit with arrows in him- that was her tragic story at the start of the movie. Her family killed the man she loved so she had no empathy for her nephew because she’s been so bitter for 30 years.
Also her doubling down on Grace dying because if she had to go through it, so does the rest of the family who draw that card. That’s how I read it anyway, that she went through that pain, heartache and grief for the sake of the family and so it has to mean something in the end, that it wasn’t for nothing. Which, in the end I guess it was?
I'm glad he explained his resting focus face... I genuinely thought he hated the movie while watching it, didn't laugh and looked cringe/upset.. could have swore he even said he was struggling at one point. But then later he said it's hilarious. I don’t know how MQ can say he thinks that they set out to make this a straight horror. It’s blatantly more comedy than horror. Including the dastardly way some of the actors portrayed their characters. It’s not even subtle. Like it’s blatantly a comedy. I don’t often strongly disagree with things you say, but this is a doozy.
@@daniellemaines4874 Ya, like Oak mentioned, there was multiple times where it was played off intentionally. The girl doing coke, the butler singing a song, the over-the-top acting.. I really think if Mason watches this again, knowing that it is intentional, he could have WAY more fun.
@@thejaded He even said he heard it was a horror comedy before it started, so that's how he started out this time. I don't get how he says it was "too over the top" to be a comedy (and then says it's not outlandish enough). It's so obviously a comedy _and_ horror.
Mason claiming the studio/filmmakers paid RT to get a high rating is pretty idiotic tbh. We get it you didn't like the movie, but to claim others were bribed go get a higher rating is weird 😂
There is this theory that the family died in the end not because they lost, but because they broke the rules. The game was the family either killed her before dawn (they won) or Grace survived till dawn (she won). When dawn came and Grace was still alive, nothing happened until Helene said they should kill her anyway. Alex also had a chance to make it because he was technically in a new family with Grace, but because she rejected him (understandably so) he died too. I don't know if that is definitely true, but it's a theory many viewers have and it certainly seems plausible to me. And yeah, the film is definitely intentionally funny throughout. It's like a dark comedy, not meant to be an actual horror. I really enjoy it :)
Saying let's kill her anyway is different from actually doing it though. She's not broken the rules until she kills her. Besides at that point it's already dawn, so you could argue the game is over. Them killing her outside the game doesn't seem relevant. So yeh not sure I buy into that theory much.
@@mandapanda2847 That wasn't a rule the original dude made. They added that to make the game more fair out of empathy. Hence why they easily removed it when it conveniences them.
The theory is flawed. Grace had won and they were already dead men when the sun came up. It was just delayed. Deciding to kill Grace would've just been an unnecessary murder not a violation of the game.
Sorry, but to say they 'bought' their Rotten Tomatoes rating is just idiotic... Quinn didn't just dislike it, he doesn't understand how anyone could. Legit just being obtuse here, '89% from critics' *Quinn looks at him like he's so gullible*. 'It won the poll!' 'They just want us to watch a bad movie'. Is there a single metric on Earth that can convince him that this is a well reviewed, highly enjoyed and popular movie? Even the fact that Oak and Answer loved it doesn't seem like enough for him
@@TheJerbol Mason Quinn even had the nerve to say Diamond Dave would hate it and if you see Dave's pinned comment he liked it same as Answer & Oak!! I don't care he didn't like the movie that's him but to imply how could we make them watch such a bad movie!! That hurt bc most of us pick these movies for sentimental reasons. IDK maybe it slipped out

I gotta say I was really surprised by the reviews. Mason was laughing throughout the whole movie and then went "this movie s@#%!" Oak looked uncomfortable throughout the whole movie and then went "I LOVED THIS!" It was kinda funny. xD
Oak right once again. Mason Quinn’s review was out of the blue especially after laughing throughout the movie. Okay then lol. This is one of my favorite horror films of the 2010s! Never gets old. We are apparently getting a second one as well!
Mason's becoming like Dave. Laughing throughout this and still being highly critical and nitpicking over a fun ,not taking itself serious movie. This movie never made any notions about what it was, a Friday night have fun with itself escapism flick. It was marketed as a horror fun movie with basic jokes thrown in. It's just that today reactors have the tendency of overanalizing things that weren't made to be award style movies. Most reactors forget why we went to the movies in the first place. Just have fun and not think to deep with movies like this
I agree it kinda hurt my feelings when he said he doesn't understand WHY WE wanted them to react to this. Even Diamond Dave wouldn't say that. That means he doesn't go into any of our picks expecting anything. I guarantee if it had a fast car or a wrestler turned actor he'd loved it. I'm still kinda offended by WHY WOULD WE SUGGEST ANYTHING basically. At least OAK & ANSWER appreciated what we suggested
Yeah like no offense to them but I'm not really going to reaction channels to hear their in depth analysis of a movie. I could watch a film essay about that. I just want to see them having fun like I did!
@@arwen_candl I don't mind in-depth analysis at the end, but _I think it was unintentionally funny and they retconned it as a comedy_ (parpahrase) isn't that either.
Mason makes no sense on this one. You’re allowed to not like a movie but he was being really…weird and kinda rude. Saying it’s a comedy, laughing, then saying it wasn’t funny on purpose, claiming the high ratings were bought, and questioning why we like it and recommended it??? Okay…..
That caught my attention as well. Claiming the funny parts of a comedic movie were by accident is wild. Gave the movie no credit whatsoever. And he laughed the most.
What?! Just okay?! Mason Quin what ?😂 This was blast of a film. Super well done. Really fully comedy embracing campiness with hilarious deaths. It’s a 9/10 for comedy horros. because a ton of them just suck! this one is almost perfect for the themes.
I wouldn't have thought anyone could not find this funny and great but it is a good reminder that things just don't work for some folks for reasons you can't predict.
I love Oak’s face at 39:29 when Mason was like “it was okay but not great by any means” cause YA WHAT THE HECK ITS SO ENTERTAINING! I mean. I’ll respect all opinions but this is a very lighthearted movie and I think he’s taking it too seriously. Also it was 100% meant to be a comedy. All the characters are so kooky and the bride leaves laughing as people are dying around her. Also it’s funny cause Oak originally was the one who said “this is horrible” or something like that at the beginning. So I’m glad he turned around
Omg thanks for putting that time code, that expression from Oak is priceless haha 😂 also i think he said he was struggling at the start but i saw it as more being about the fast pace and how hard the death went cause he sure loved it a ton
@ I’m just making a comment reacting to his opinion. He can keep that opinion if he wants. But I disagree. And yes you can disagree with someone without disrespecting them.
@@vinnyc.1265i’m not sure how someone can misunderstand something so simple but i guess everything is possible. Dude. No one, literally no one, is criticizing quinn for just not liking the movie. That’s completely okay for everyone here and most have added that to their comments to make it clear for people like you, but i guess even that wasn’t enough. The problem people had with him, is him saying that the movie was just accidentally comedic and suggesting the reviews were paid for to be so high. There’s a difference between simply saying you don’t like something and suggesting that others are either lying or wrong for liking it. That’s literally all.
Wow! I don't think I've ever heard of anyone that dislikes this movie, but I mean statistically you had exist I suppose. Well 2 outa 3 ain't bad. Regardless appreciate yall checking it out. Great reaction.
I want to ask Mason what other movies have done it better. You can't even mention those movies. And then, if a lot of actors were overacting, maybe it was intentionally cheesy. Mason was watching this movie but mistakenly commenting on another movie. Learn to appreciate good things especially creative ideas like the plot of this movie should be appreciated.
Yeah, I was waiting for that cuz I am genuinely curious what other movies have done this concept. Like, this is a horror comedy about human hunting, I can't think of something else that fits that criteria 💀
FINALLY!! FUN FACT: Samara Weaving who everyone calls Margot Robbies twin in real is in fact best friends with Margot Robbie and their husbands are friends!! And they are also Australian. FUN FACT 2: Ready or Not 2 will be out by the middle or end of 2025

Margot was in Neighbours and Samara was in Home & Away, which I both watched back in the day 😊 nice seeing them be great amazing actresses, goes for Chris & Liam Hemsworth too. Those 2 soaps bring out amazing performers.

Jeez Mason Quinn, you are the first person to have mixed reviews on this of not liking it much. Everyone I've known who has seen it has loved it. She goes through absolute hell, would not give up and actually survived. It's a fun film ❤ Oh by the way Mason, there will be a sequel 😂 Samara Weaving is brilliant, I love her.
Fabulous dark comedy, definitely intentionally done and one to rewatch for a fun time at Halloween. But I seriously thought Oak HATED it, what a twist!! 😂
I honestly anticipated for months for you guys to react to this one! So glad you did! I think Oak was spot on in his review. Generally, I love good dark/horror comedies, because I understand they're difficult to combine these two genres. I LOVE this movie! The script was great, the idea, the suspense, the direction, the acting, Samara was amazing and I appreciated everyone's different and f'ed up personality. Even the last line ''In-laws'' is great. Thank you for your great reaction to a great movie. Please, please react to more movies like this one.
Mason Quinn way off the mark... why were you laughing throughout? Unintentional comedy? That is a head scratcher.. It is clearly dark humor and over the top situations... I side with Oak..
I don't know how can you say they did an accident comedy when they obviously made it a horror COMEDY. It is over the top because it was supposed to be like that.
Oak loving this film and Mason not being into it that much is incredible and the real twist all along considering oak said “guys idk I’m struggling with this one” and mason laughing the whole time and then saying it was meh… I mean man did they watch the same film 😂😂😂😂
Wow mason, I rarely disagree with him but he missed with this one. It was a horror comedy and was meant to be over the top ridiculous! These directors also did Abigail which was fantastic
I agree with The Oak- this was intentionally funny, well written and the character of Grace was stellar! It was interesting seeing you guys so much in disagreement for a movie, but that's what makes you interesting. Another great reaction guys. Have you seen the Crow yet? The original 90's one, not the new one. I think you would like it. And since you watched Interview with a Vampire, I suggest The Lost Boys- great soundtrack, great cast and fantastic movie!
Not sure how anyone watches this and thinks it’s “Unintentional” comedy, the over the top made it obvious it wasn’t too serious. You’re nuts to not think this was a great fun movie.
Glad 2/3 liked it. This one snuck up on me when it first was in theaters and i thoroughly enjoyed it. However not sure why MQ thought it was straight up horror... Early on the tone is very clearly comedic and maintains that tone throughout. But everyone has their preferences.
This movie is def a 4.5/5 for me! So much fun and honestly one of my favorite final girls. She is smart and capable, which is made even more obvious in the midst of the silly moments.
this movie rocks . mason my man you're tripping for real. i think this movie got so much inspirations from *The Cabin in the Woods 2011* The plot and the ending so similar. but compared to cabin in the woods grace(protaganist) actually have a happy ending.
How you gonna laugh the ENTIRE movie and then say it's bad? It's a horror comedy for a reason, the comedy was intentional. The math isn't adding up lol
Aw the "not that great" take hurt my heart just a bit! But it's okay, I recommended this to my mom and she outright hated it so not the worst review I've heard 😂 This is a movie I unapologetically love and have rewatched multiple times. Grace is a wonderful final girl thanks to Samara Weaving's performance, which she brought so much energy and grit to, I love a protagonist character who takes their lumps but gets right back up fighting to survive even if they aren't a character with a trained background like a lot of action heroes who are usually cops or military. She's just a regular woman who got mixed up in a psychopathic game but she gives her all trying to live. Grace getting suited up with the elephant gun in the wedding dress felt iconic. Also her blood splattered walk out of the burning mansion at the end to the metal rendition of "Here Comes the Bride". And the other characters are a riot, sure they're flat for the most part but I don't think the movie needed a lot of depth to its villainous cult family. Daniel was great though, and the way he and Alex foil each other as brothers who choose the opposite paths in life I think works in the films favor. The balance between horror and comedy hits perfectly for me and I do believe all of that over the top cheese was quite intentional as a nod to the late 70s/early 80s slash and gore fests. And I definitely don't mind the sort of "typical" plot, I think this is a better movie about hunting humans than most films with a similar plot, especially having seen the 1932 "The Most Dangerous Game" which is the O.G. human hunting movie (and having read the short story it was based on). I think the plot is actually handled with a freshness, it's not a super experienced murderer who is after a challenge doing the pursuit, it's a bunch of bumblers who feel pressured by a literal demon(if you rearrange Le Bail you get Belial, a pretty heavy demon in occult mythology). I thought that felt new. I don't think the movie is necessarily that deep, it's commentary on generational wealth is pretty obvious and far from groundbreaking, but I think it's okay it's not deep. There's also some valid criticism for weaker written areas, like the butler being down to murder with little explanation. This IS a popcorn flick though, you put it on to have a good time and the movie gives you a good time. And for me a movie that achieves what it set out to do is a perfect 5, but I really dig the genre of horror/comedy anyway. I still really enjoyed this reaction. Especially the great big cringe from everybody at 25:30 due to the nail.
I'm pretty sure part of the reason telling us that Grace grew up in foster families was to explain why she was tough. I haven't seen any official release stating that. The main reason being she wanted a real family, of course.
Oh? I wonder how that’s gonna work seeing as the whole family died🤔 unless of course, it’s a prequel or maybe it has a different family altogether that had made a similar deal. Or is Grace in it🤔
It feels like one person watched the film then someone else reviewed it for Mason. I mean I get not everyone likes the same thing but he seemed baffled anyone would like this because he didn't which is odd given the other two did like it. I mean he was constantly laughing through it which was intended because its a horror comedy leaning towards comedy.
We went to see it back when it came out because it was advertised as a comedy horror 👍 our family love this and we rewatch this one a lot since it has been out👍
I'm really kind of shocked how much Mason Quinn didn't enjoy thie film. I absolutely respect his opinion, but i have to say that they absolutely intended for this film to be funny and over the top. It is completely the point.
MQ enjoying the movie the most out of the three while watching it. Hates it the most once it ends? Super weird. Also wild to suggest they bought their ratings. I'm disappointed
I find the movie to just be okay and even I am befuddled by MQ's reaction. He seems to have intentionally ignored/dismissed all of the elements of this film that do work. I wonder what triggered him to simply shut down. The play on the cult-like behavior the wealthy engage in to perpetuate their own wealth? The blurred lines on what people find acceptable because of how they're raised? The way you could question the validity of their beliefs/faith until the very end? I don't see "overacting" being enough to cause such willful disregard of the actual plot and construction of the movie. So weird.
This movie isn't the best ever made but it's not supposed to be. It's a very intentional dark comedy, it's meant to be goofy and silly. Light-hearted horror, it's a popcorn and laughs kinda vibe and i think it does well at that.
The curse being real complicates things because on one hand it does give credence to their actions, that they really had no choice. However, if it wasn't real it means they did all this horrific, senseless killing for no reason and mostly importantly, they'd get away with it (their money and power would protect them). Making the curse real gives the movie a way to punish them.
I guess it's a curse bc their great, great grandpa is the one who made the pact, not them, but marriage is the out - if the one marrying into the family wins whatever game they play, they can choose not to join the pact and save their "cursed" spouse. this is why Daniel keeps trying to save Grace - he knows if she lives, she can save Alex, even if that means the rest of the family dies. sadly, Alex turns on her at the last minute, and Grace rejects the pact and Alex - he dies, and the devil congratulates her for a game well-played. the "curse" is probably more the money, protection, and "luck" the family gets from the pact... the family is still on the hook for 1) not taking the out/marrying people who love them for them and not the money (like Grace), 2) being more afraid of losing the money than being free of the pact, and 3) being willing to "curse" the children/future generations of their family by not breaking the pact by sacrificing themselves because they'd rather be rich.
I get what you’re saying, but they kind of did actually have a choice. And it’s a simple one. Just don’t get married lol. Like you can still be with someone in a serious relationship without getting married. So while it isn’t really fair that the family has to suffer the consequences of a deal they themselves didn’t even make, they still had a way to never even be forced to do this. But Alex is definitely the one with the most blame, since it was him who decided to marry someone knowing full well what could happen. The family didn’t make that choice, Alex did. So in my eyes he’s 100% the most guilty one.
It's hilarious!! i give it a 5!! I love that Grace didn't just give up and wait for the guy to rescue her. She fought back. She wasn't expert but she wasn't pathetic. She was fantastic as the heroine.
I love Oak being pretty straight faced through the whole thing and then lighting up with joy when people start popping 😂😂😂 I love this movie. I think it’s hilarious (absolutely on purpose) and I like some of the interesting social commentary. Like the maids being so willing to do the bidding of these rich people, even though it got them nothing but dead. Also think it’s interesting that the brothers’ wives are named Charity and Grace, but I haven’t really thought much about why.
The first time I watched this movie I said, "What did I just see!" and then I started laughing 😂 There are several unexpected, funny and distressing scenes (e.g. Grace getting hurt all the time). But in the end, I can say that I liked it and I believe that the actors must have had a lot of fun filming it
glad O and A liked this one - such a fun, clever movie. there's a lot of small details and nuance and callbacks. this reminded me of Knives Out too - a clever, funny murder mystery the way this is a clever, funny horror. For example: Daniel only cares about his younger brother Alex; he's been protective of him even since the beginning (opening scene when they are kids). When they're older, he knows Alex (who has abandoned the family prior to the wedding) just wants to leave. Theoretically, the only way to leave is if the new spouse (Grace) wins Hide and Seek, and chooses to save the family member they are marrying (Alex) - the other family members are doomed for losing, but the new couple would be a new "family". If Grace decides not to make a literal "deal with the devil," then she and Alex would be free. This is what Daniel was willing to sacrifice everything, even himself and his wife (level of affection there was questionable at this point, anyways), for - freeing Alex. Unfortunately, he dies before Alex ultimately changes his mind and decides to kill Grace. Had Alex continued to try and save her, and she won, she could have still chosen to save him from being... exploded... and divorced him after he was freed from his family's deal/curse. Instead, because he was a short-sighted, he dies when she rejects him - and gets a nod from "Le Bail" (a play on "Belial", a name from the Old Testament that refers to the Devil/Satan) for a game well-played. 🤓
Respectfully, I think the family would have died anyway since they lost the game (Grace made it to dawn/sunrise). If there are no consequences, the whole thing is pointless. Aunt Helene was doomed when she lost, then also broke the rules by trying to attack the winner - arguably, she was exploded by Mr. Le Bail at that moment to prevent Grace from being hurt.
I love this movie! I'm not a huge fan of pure horror, so movies like this take the edge off of the horror and allow me to enjoy it. Also, Oak liking this one makes up a bit for him not liking Spirited Away 😆

Alex does say "You don't have to win, you just have to play". Which implies she COULD win and it would be okay too.
Saying let's kill her anyway is different from actually doing it though. She's not broken the rules until she kills her. Besides at that point it's already dawn, so you could argue the game is over. Them killing her outside the game doesn't seem relevant. So yeh not sure I buy into that theory much.
@@cycaboosethey did use the cameras which was breaking the rules, maybe that was a factor? 🤷♀️
Even the fact that Oak and Answer loved it doesn't seem like enough for him
I think a lot of people didn't pick _Saltburn_ because they thought it was bad (maybe shocking) either.
IDK maybe it slipped out
Well, Mason is basically oak from the spirited away (if you know you know)
@@Letha-Mae How do you tell who wrote the pinned comment?
@@HuntingViolets Seriously‽‽ A couple of reasons I'm the Mod for both channels.. 2. He edits and replies and has said it's him. Oak and Answer reply with their own RUclips pages. Quinn doesn't have any social media. If you want to send him anything just mail it to their address
Samara absolutely CRUSHED it in this! 💜
@@mimic1984 My favourite part was when she screamed at the guy for leaving her. Just the most primal scream queen we got, right?
Samara has been final girl, villain, and victim. Total scream queen.
I'm with Oak here, I watched this movie not knowing anything about it and was wonderfully surprised. Loved the ridiculousness, 4.75 all the way!
The family popping took everyone in the theater by surprise, it was glorious! 💜
Exactly! That was fantastic!
This movie knew EXACTLY what it was. The guys behind it are very much aware and they knocked this one out the park. Brilliant movie!
I understand not liking something. But to act like everyone else is either wrong or lying about liking it is just stupid
I gotta say I was really surprised by the reviews.
Mason was laughing throughout the whole movie and then went "this movie s@#%!"
Oak looked uncomfortable throughout the whole movie and then went "I LOVED THIS!"
It was kinda funny. xD
lmaoo i can rarely anticipate what oak is gonna say at the end hes so locked in all the time
Oak right once again.
100% agree!!
@@Letha-Mae What happened to Diamond Dave anyway?
@@arwen_candl I don't mind in-depth analysis at the end, but _I think it was unintentionally funny and they retconned it as a comedy_ (parpahrase) isn't that either.
lol it was definitely intentionally comedic
Mason makes no sense on this one. You’re allowed to not like a movie but he was being really…weird and kinda rude. Saying it’s a comedy, laughing, then saying it wasn’t funny on purpose, claiming the high ratings were bought, and questioning why we like it and recommended it??? Okay…..
That caught my attention as well. Claiming the funny parts of a comedic movie were by accident is wild. Gave the movie no credit whatsoever. And he laughed the most.
@ yeah I don’t usually leave comments on RUclips but I thought that was pretty strange and out of character
What?!
You respect other people's opinions, but freaking out because someone didn't like it?
@@TheSofkujepanen So you are still saying he owes you what your opinion is, I am confsued.
35:05 The Oak understands women.
"this is comedy horror"
*laughing*
"its not funny" def u in the bad mood, quinn lol
Wow! I don't think I've ever heard of anyone that dislikes this movie, but I mean statistically you had exist I suppose. Well 2 outa 3 ain't bad. Regardless appreciate yall checking it out. Great reaction.
THE OAK IS MY FAVE LETS GOOOO! glad he enjoyed it. one of my fave horror comedy. it's so obviously made to be, i dunno what the other two watched lol
@@lee210294 Neither can Mason. He knows he hates this movie, but can't give a single reason why.
FINALLY!!
FUN FACT: Samara Weaving who everyone calls Margot Robbies twin in real is in fact best friends with Margot Robbie and their husbands are friends!! And they are also Australian.
FUN FACT 2: Ready or Not 2 will be out by the middle or end of 2025
Wouldn’t say the sequel will be out “any day”.. 2026 at the LEAST
@wallyjackson9543 the producer and director said they have a few behind the scenes stuff to work on but by the end of 2025 it should be out. But if you want me to erase what I said I will
@@Letha-Mae You don’t have to erase anything relax lol if they already have a script, finished pre-production, and has the schedule laid out then they have a shot at the end of 2025. It was announced last month and I see nothing on a production date. So I’ll go ahead and stick with 2026
They really do have the chance to call it “Here I come” 😂
Margot was in Neighbours and Samara was in Home & Away, which I both watched back in the day 😊 nice seeing them be great amazing actresses, goes for Chris & Liam Hemsworth too. Those 2 soaps bring out amazing performers.
I don't get why you keep calling it a curse - they signed their souls to the devil and that's why they were so successful. That's what all the goat sacrifices were about too.
hahaa i loved that the oak ended up loving it!
@@allisonv4270 I feel bad for judging him honestly 🤣 I just think his focus face is like, super intense and I can't tell if he enjoys something. Really only can tell when he smiles, which again, is bad of me. 🤣

I’d like to know which other movie did it better Mason Quinn. This movie is fun and doesn’t need to be overanalyzed. It was made as a dark comedy…it wasn’t an accident that it made you laugh.
Oak's reaction to Alex saying "You won't be with me after this, will you" is hilarious🤣 I love you all reaction to the nail scene lol Would be great if you watch Evil dead 2013!
Oak saving me from having to defend the movie from Mason Quinn lol
I love Oak so much and I say it all the time. I love hearing what he has to say and nothing wrong with the focus face! I know that when he looks like he’s just locked in
It’s WILD to me that he could watch this movie and think that it wasn’t meant to be funny. It’s so obviously purposefully a dark comedy! 😂
The Oak as the MVP of this review. He totally understood the movie.
Yeeeesss...The "Good For Her" subgenre of horror is one of my favs!! Let's goooo
I'm so glad Oaks loved it!!!!! It's one of my favs and after MQ's review I was worried haha. And Answer had fun too!! I'm so glad you guys!!
21:10 😂I love the words of encouragement you guys give her, cause that’s one hell of a round.
Fabulous dark comedy, definitely intentionally done and one to rewatch for a fun time at Halloween. But I seriously thought Oak HATED it, what a twist!! 😂
39:27 Oaks face when Mason says "it's okay"
Same face I made tbh
😂😂😂 Pretty sure Oak was all of us in that moment
I honestly anticipated for months for you guys to react to this one! So glad you did! I think Oak was spot on in his review. Generally, I love good dark/horror comedies, because I understand they're difficult to combine these two genres. I LOVE this movie! The script was great, the idea, the suspense, the direction, the acting, Samara was amazing and I appreciated everyone's different and f'ed up personality. Even the last line ''In-laws'' is great. Thank you for your great reaction to a great movie. Please, please react to more movies like this one.
Bold to assume they didn't intend this to be a horror/comedy from the start! Most of those jokes were written in on purpose, dude. lol
The Oak is right
Samara literally nailed the character. ❤️❤️
Nope. Always meant to be a comedy. Not every film is aiming for an Oscar. Just enjoy the ride. 👍🏻
The directors of Scream, Scream 6 and Abigail.. It was DEFINITELY an intended horror comedy from jump
Fun fact: At the end Grace had the choice to stay with Alex, without him dying. It wasn’t until she said she wanted a divorced that he popped 😂
Will be interesting to see how the sequel storyline goes.
Mason Quinn way off the mark... why were you laughing throughout? Unintentional comedy? That is a head scratcher.. It is clearly dark humor and over the top situations... I side with Oak..
I'm with Oak I think this movie is the perfect silly fun popcorn movie. Nothing groundbreaking but intentionally over the top comedy
Huh?! This is one of the BEST horror comedies of recent years, not sure which others have "done it better"
AYOOO IM SO PUMPED FOR THIS REACTION!!!! this movie is such a gem, idk how people missed this😂
This one, "You're Next" and "The Hunt" are my favorite/top 3 for these kinds of movies. All freaking GREAT!!! (HUSH)?
How about yall, who did it best?
Yes, "You're Next" i love that one!❤
Oh yes! The hunt! A great moment too
"Hush" would be an amazing next watch!
I gotta watch “the hunt” I’m adding it to my list since I really enjoy ready or not and you’re next.
I love “the hunt” I’m surprised more people haven’t watched it!
It's funny, based on their reactions I thought The Oak and Quinn would have exact opposite thoughts on the movie 😂 😂
Not sure how anyone watches this and thinks it’s “Unintentional” comedy, the over the top made it obvious it wasn’t too serious. You’re nuts to not think this was a great fun movie.
It's fine to dislike movies, some of his takes were just...let's say interesting lol
"It's like some form of a Ouija Board or something"
Yeah, that's called "boardgames".
The movie is definitely intentionally comedic. 100%
She is smart and capable, which is made even more obvious in the midst of the silly moments.
this movie rocks . mason my man you're tripping for real.
i think this movie got so much inspirations from *The Cabin in the Woods 2011*
The plot and the ending so similar. but compared to cabin in the woods grace(protaganist) actually have a happy ending.
lol. I was not thinking this was going to be a controversial reaction. Still a fun reaction - as always!
love this movie! her scream is iconic. i'm so happy you watched it :)
How you gonna laugh the ENTIRE movie and then say it's bad? It's a horror comedy for a reason, the comedy was intentional. The math isn't adding up lol
I first watched this on a plane not prepared for how funny it was I was dying laughing I felt so bad I couldn't help myself
Fun Fact: Ready or Not is getting a Sequel
Oh? I wonder how that’s gonna work seeing as the whole family died🤔 unless of course, it’s a prequel or maybe it has a different family altogether that had made a similar deal. Or is Grace in it🤔
@ is was reported that Samara weaving was coming back so I’m guessing it gonna be the exact same thing . Just with a different family
It feels like one person watched the film then someone else reviewed it for Mason. I mean I get not everyone likes the same thing but he seemed baffled anyone would like this because he didn't which is odd given the other two did like it. I mean he was constantly laughing through it which was intended because its a horror comedy leaning towards comedy.
they just announced they’ll be making a part 2!!! i’m so excited
I love this movie, its exactly my type of humor.
It's camp horror...deffo meant to be funny
We went to see it back when it came out because it was advertised as a comedy horror 👍 our family love this and we rewatch this one a lot since it has been out👍
I'm really kind of shocked how much Mason Quinn didn't enjoy thie film. I absolutely respect his opinion, but i have to say that they absolutely intended for this film to be funny and over the top. It is completely the point.
MQ enjoying the movie the most out of the three while watching it. Hates it the most once it ends? Super weird. Also wild to suggest they bought their ratings. I'm disappointed
The Hide and Seek song is amazing
During the movie:
Answer:😮
Mason Quinn:😂
The Oak:😐
I find the movie to just be okay and even I am befuddled by MQ's reaction. He seems to have intentionally ignored/dismissed all of the elements of this film that do work. I wonder what triggered him to simply shut down. The play on the cult-like behavior the wealthy engage in to perpetuate their own wealth? The blurred lines on what people find acceptable because of how they're raised? The way you could question the validity of their beliefs/faith until the very end? I don't see "overacting" being enough to cause such willful disregard of the actual plot and construction of the movie. So weird.
Mr. "Le Bail" is an anagram for "Belial" by the way. 😊
This movie is great!! It is so entertaining, well written, and the performances are spot on !!
One of the best in this genre of movie.
This movie isn't the best ever made but it's not supposed to be. It's a very intentional dark comedy, it's meant to be goofy and silly. Light-hearted horror, it's a popcorn and laughs kinda vibe and i think it does well at that.
I loved this. I thought the humor and camp was really well done while still having good jumps/scares. Will definitely watch the sequel.
They played the game, she won, the curse/consequences didn't happen until the aunt broke the rules and went for the winner, Grace.
Oak gets it! Thank you Oak! Redeemed for Spirited Away 🤣
It's hilarious!! i give it a 5!! I love that Grace didn't just give up and wait for the guy to rescue her. She fought back. She wasn't expert but she wasn't pathetic. She was fantastic as the heroine.
I love Oak being pretty straight faced through the whole thing and then lighting up with joy when people start popping 😂😂😂
I love this movie.
The first time I watched this movie I said, "What did I just see!" and then I started laughing 😂
There are several unexpected, funny and distressing scenes (e.g.
They played the game, she won, the curse/consequences didn't happen until the aunt broke the rules and went for the winner, Grace.
Omg.. i hope they react to the hunt. It’s such a good movie and satisfying !
I love this movie! I'm not a huge fan of pure horror, so movies like this take the edge off of the horror and allow me to enjoy it. Also, Oak liking this one makes up a bit for him not liking Spirited Away 😆
This 💯 meant to be a comedy horror, think it went over MQs head that the overacting was intentional
