  • So we did a little underwater test shoot and usually I would put something like this on IMAGERYDUMP but the footage ended up looking so rad that I made an actual video out of it.
So here you go. The first video where I take my shirt off.
    Nerd Specs:
    Camera: Sony NEX 5N
    Lens: 18-55 kit
Housing: Some random thing I found on ebay (miraculously, the camera is still dry)
    Shot entirely with natural light
    Song: Com Truise - Glawio

You are THE most talented videographer I've ever seen, I always turn back to your stuff when I'm feeling messy or need inspiration :)
I'm super in love with everything you create, thanks for all the beauty :)

Awh, thanks Sara :) You're the best. That's so cool to hear. I've been working on a lot of new stuff so, keep an eye out! Want to start uploading more consistently :) Have a wonderful day!

Hey thanks man, haha. It wasn't terribly deep, just enough to make it look like the Abyss if you're clever with your shot selection. (really like 5 feet) hahah. And yeah Scotland was rad. You live in a most rad country and your whisky is amazing. Live it up.

I've been using the NEX 5 for a whole heap of underwater footage (in the ocean though) and have been absolutely loving it's performance.

Love your channel, videos and your beard! How deep was the pool? The way this was filmed makes it look like there's no bottom and it just goes on forever. Oh, and I'm from Scotland so I can't wait to see the video on that :) Great video!

Just do a search on Amazon for 'NEX 5N underwater'. Should pop right up. Yah there's pretty good control of it underwater.... aperture / shutter speed / ISO / WB can all be adjusted (though the buttons are pretty stiff). Shooting underwater is like 9X harder just as a general statement anyway. No focus or zoom but AF on the 5N is pretty dang good for video.

Well, I misread and thought you said some random cheap thing you found on ebay. All the underwater housing I found on Amazon and ebay ranging from 30 something to 1,5K - which is ridiculous. I was hoping for a medium price that actually worked as wasn't sure fi you used an actual housing or one of those "plastic bag" prototype.

What is the housing called? How much was it? Is there moderate/decent control of it when you use it?

Hey dude also what bit rate and codec do you render out to? Your nex-5N footage is always steller

Thanks dude! I usually just do CBR h264 out of premiere at like 15k. Looks magical

Hey dude, how deep is your case rated to go?

    • @imagerystorm
      @imagerystorm  10 лет назад

It's rated for like 100 feet or something I think. Can't really remember. Never taken it deeper than 12 though, hahah. So far so good.

imagerystorm 100feet sounds really freaking crazy I hope it is that rated that deep haha. Your nex 5N videos seem so much better than others i've seen, what resolution did you shoot at and what format did you use to render. I'm shooting a music video that has a scene about 15-20 feet deep underwater and it costs to much to rent out a red epic housing so I was thinking of buying this rig you have for about 400 bucks which is half the epics housing rental lol.
