Oddly enough gloria is righ in this one, i know a lot of people whose parents spoke different languages, and refuse to learn their language, i would have killed for these chance, i had a friend with a japanese dad, latina mom, and lived in the US, but never tried to learn either of the languages, she cant even comunicate with her family in japan nor mexico; i had to learn english, french and what little japanese i know by myself
Nah, i agree with manny on this. You don't always have to learn your parents language. Doing that took a humongous hit to my GPA, made my life so stressful, and makes me want to shoot myself in the head, for no reason at that because I'm still learning the other language anyway and never touching spanish again.
@@UltraHydrationSupreme well you don't have to, it would be easier in the long run learning a language with someone you can practice, it is like wanting to learn to play music, and having a parent that know how to play the piano, yeah you can choose other instruments, but it would be easier with the piano
@luisfer071 my entire family has been trying to teach me spanish, most of them are fluent speakers. Spanish has been the least pleasant and hardest language i have tried. Dutch, German, and Swedish are absolutely leagues easier, and don't sound bad to my ears nor put me to sleep. It's a matter of engagement at this point. And there is no way for me tobe engaged to a language like Spanish, Portuguese, or Italian.
