So sad, that in modern gaming industry the new release trend is:
-release the game in a broken state
-apologize for the poor state it was released and promise to do better in the future
-release patch hopefully in the first few weeks, that fixes some bugs but not all of them
-the game might be in a playable state in a year or 2 if at all
-repeat with the next title
It does seem to be getting more common, but there are still well polished games being released.
Broken or not, Gollum is still a bad game overall. Gollum is one of the worst characters not only in LOTR lore, but in literature in general. I don't know of anyone who's been a Gollum fan, so I don't know who this game is made for. Broken or not this game wouldn't sell.

I mean, the PC version of most games seem to be the most unstable version.
I think we also in part know why it happaned...the developer Daedalic Entertainment had no experience in making these types of games....hell this studio was known only for 2D point and click games!!!! So their first entry into stealth/platformier action adventure games would be highly risky.
Lord of the rings gollum is like one of those games that gets announced then doesn’t come out and everybody asks why and then it’s revealed the studio pulled the plug because it wasn’t up to quality. This is one of those games but they failed to pull the plug
The difference between Low and Epic is you can see how bad the game really is on Epic unlike Low where it's a bit blurry, hiding the flaws more.
2000's the measure of a decent PC was its ability to run Crysis. Today it's Gollum.

I torrented the game to try it out, didn't even finish tutorial before I quit, uninstalled and deleted the .iso from my hdd. I think I played for about 2 minutes before I found the game unbearable and so shit I knew I'd never bother playing trough it.

This game is a shit stain on Tolkien's legacy. How did it turn out like this!? The Hobbit game from 2003 looks, sounds and plays better than this crap. This is such an easy idea to pull off, put this project in the hands of any fan and I bet money the result would be so much better
I dont really fault the voice acting as we expect to here Andy serkis' rendition of the character but it came before him and can still be interpreted differently

The fact that this game is for sale at all, is criminal. The game looks like absolute dog bleep.
Looking at their previous games, which they seem to be very efficient at pumping out to a fair bit of positive acclaim, this is one of their first attempts at CGI visuals and I think the very first attempt at something non-isometric, non-side-scrolling and non-point-and-click. Not apologizing for them, of course, as I don't have the power to do so with it being valid, just saying I understand why they're struggling. Then again, BGS have dabbled in this exact thing for decades and still aren'tr able to produce something less than 50% jank.
Yup the studio ain't bad per se they did some kick-ass 2D classics, but they certainly underestimated this project and bit off way more than they could chew. A matter of mismanagement I'd say, not of talent in that sense
