That butt hole in the semi truck, though! 🙄 Seriously impressed with this Fusion Sport! Similar performance to cars that are far more expensive! That's bang for the buck, baby! Thinking I'll own one of these some day!
I like this Fusion Sport a lot. My main complaint is the color of the seats. I think a brick colored perforated leather seats would have made this car pop for sure.
2.7 L (164 CID), 325 hp (242 kW) @ 5750 RPM, 380 lb·ft (515 N·m) @ 3000 RPM is pretty impressive numbers, however, I'd personally much prefer it with rear wheel drive.
I've had My new Focus Sport for 2 weeks now and it is SUCH a joy to drive. My commute home is 20 minutes of battling city and highway traffic and then 10 minutes of gorgeous country back roads and this car truly offers the best of both worlds. I set adaptive cruise and lane keep assist in traffic, melt into the the heated seats (and steering wheel), and just shed all the stress from work as I jam to some Reggae on the Sony 12 speaker system. Then I flip it into Sport mode once I hit the back roads and have a nice sprint home at 7/10ths and then pull in my driveway stress free with a huge grin on my face. I was doing the same commute in my Focus ST and it went way differently. I would just get more stressed and worn out from wrestling the unnecessarily peaky turbo and wonky oversprung clutch pedal in traffic and then take out all my anger on the car by white knuckling it on the back roads. I pulled in my driveway a ball of stress every evening. SO glad I made the switch.
The Fusion refresh looks great in my eyes. The Fusion Sport is nice with 325hp but dropped the ball when it comes to weight control; 1900kg/4200lbs is insanity for a midsize sedan. It also takes a toll on handling & MPG. I just take the logical route and go for the Hybrid or Energi instead.
only if you don't have any cargo to lug around...ever. The battery sits in the trunk and takes up 75-80% of space. Could barely fit a golf bag in there flat on the mat. go look up the images on google..you'll see what I mean.
Hiya! That’s relatively well priced! Just make sure you’re getting value for it, such as the tech inside, etc. You’d also want to know the car fax or service record, but I’m sure you already knew that haha! Test drive if you’re able to..
@@Spoodiceous well everything was going good but too good to be true, at the end he throws in the interest rate of 18% lol even though he said my credit score was higher then 760. He said everything put together looks to be a good deal for me, I laughed and walked out. Thanks for replying by the way, I appreciated.
Thank you for reviewing the 2017 Ford Fusion Sport. I own a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport and I love the car. This new one would be a dream to own because it has everything I want and need. However, there are a few things that I dislike about the 2017 Ford Fusion Ford. The mpg is 17/24, it weighs approximately 4,000lbs, it doesn't have a unique design that can separate it from the other Ford Fusion trims, and the shift nob is not very impressive. Despite all of the light flaws, I'd absolutely love to own this car! It's sort of my dream car now but I'll just have to wait and see.
RoughDog#86 it does look somewhat different than the other models with a modified front fascia and grill and some changes on the rear too. The weight gain is from the larger engine, stronger transmission, and AWD.
Julio Romeresto Thanks for the reply. the issue with the new Ford Fusions is the overall similar design with all of the tirms. In order for me to know if it's a Sport or Titanium, I have to look at the rear of the car. I love the look but the Sport should have a more aggressive look.
RoughDog#86 Pretty sure if you get it out on the open highway for a road trip, take it out of sport mode and just use the cruise control you could do better than 28 mpg. I'd say 32 mpg wouldn't be out of the question on a relatively flat 200 mile road trip. Of course around town you're not likely to get better than EPA rating, and it would be hard to stay off the throttle since it sounds so good. (Fake or otherwise)
I also own a first gen 2010 Fusion SPORT in silver with the black/ blue interior package. I absolutely love my car and mine is still in excellent condition as it was bought brand new by my Dad off the showroom floor and has an early build date of 06/09. Ours never sees winter as its stored and it's always been Nu Finished twice every year! I like this new one but I totally agree it needed better interior more like mine plus different body bumpers front and rear as well as different rocker panels to make it more aggressive! Also a true shifter not that dumb knob! This 2nd gen Fusion SPORT reminds me alot of the 1996-1999 Taurus SHOs
@@mattmaverick703 Smart. My fusion is a daily driver so I have to deal with Michigan Winters. I just spent $1,500 on repairs (struts, control arms, replaced three wheel, alignment, tie rods, I detailed it, etc.) Minor suspension work is needed because the car has 211,000 miles.
The fusion sport is a very underestimated beast like it has over 100 more horsepower than a new edge mustang gt and it is very easy to modify and get alot of powa as if it were a old supra like litterly slap in better cheap turbos and u have 450 to 500 horsepower
the engine as is sounds better then the terrible fake sound ford uses. If I ever bought one of these the first thing I would do is disable that fake shit.
The only thing keeping me away from this car would be the engine sound. That resonator is making this car sound more like a 4 cylinder than a V6. If that is fairly simple to locate & remove I would jump on this.
+Isiah Friedlander Verdade... Essa é uma das razões pelo qual pretendo sair do Brasil, o cara se mata a trabalhar e mal consegue manter um 1.0 2016 aqui.
Nate C It's more about how it feels, and more importantly how it minimizes upsetting the suspension. I haven't experienced it, but I've heard it actually works pretty well...but you have to drive an older version back to back or you won't really notice the difference.
That's all well and good, but the key phrase here is "...for [you]". Some people value the ability to outrun most of what you'll encounter in traffic, and that's who this car is supposed to appeal to. And, mind you, the Fusion isn't lacking for equipment, standard or otherwise, even if it is slightly down compared with an Escape. Chances are, if you're looking at an Escape of any description, you're not going to be remotely interested in the Fusion. It really depends on where you place the most emphasis when picking a car. You seem to do so based on features, I do so based on performance. Good thing Ford makes cars that suit both of our preferences.
Adrian Brown I'm trying to pick between this fusion and the Escape. I'm really torn. I like the power in the fusion but I want the extra features in the Escape.
What extra features does the Escape have? As far as I can tell, the Escape is actually down a few features... especially when it comes to the drivetrain, brakes (it still uses drums up front), and the fact that the Fusion has more advanced AWD to handle the power it puts down. That being said, the Escape really is a fantastic little SUV. The Edge is more my style, personally, and what I'd recommend... but it demands a premium. A certified pre-owned or used one might be in order.
$42,000 and I shouldn't expect as much style as a $28,000 Mazda or Honda or even Chevy? I can actually buy an A4 for what this costs, and with a manual, still AWD too. I think the engine and drivetrain is nice, but it's wrapped in an ugly dress. It could look a lot nicer for the money.
nice car but for this price you can get lexus or mercedes any other cars which is faster than ford fusion 42.000$ expensive af for this garbage! i recommend you all Q50 infinity
What are you talking about? The only Mercedes that can possibly be linked with this car is the C43 AMG and find me even a used one that is the price of one of these new. Infiniti Q50, unless we're talking about the newest one with the 400HP 3.0T motor, will compete with this car but be more money too. Audi S4 same thing. Are those previously mentioned cars nicer? Absolutely but still a ton more money.
The exhaust sounds like a motorcycle. Not impressed with this at all. There are other models that offer the same power, with better design and better fuel economy than this.
What other car in its class is capable of 435HP with just a tune and e30. None. Mines out runs Camaros and Mustangs, good luck with that in your 210 HP fwd Mazda...
Sonic_1000 not a chance as it has much less power and is running on FWD and just wait until people start tuning the Fusion, then the Accord will never have a hope of coming close.
Yeah but the fastest stock Accord is the V6 manual sport coupe. And the zero to 60 for that is around 5.6s. So this is still faster, because people have been getting everything from 4.9s-5.3s. The Accord is no joke though for being down 30+ horses. But with a tune the Fusion sport can add even more HP.
You could get a fusion sport to do that and then some with tuning for a fraction of the price. Honda just started using turbos and are very late to the game and they don't do a turbo V6 so not tuning unless you pay a fortune for a turbo kit and then the FWD sucks even more
They don't do a turbo 6? NSX. And they don't need a turbo in their smaller engines to make decent power. Ford does because they don't have the N/A R&D to make decent power in smaller engines. This Fusion won't sell because it's overpriced in a segment that doesn't shop for all put performance, which this car isn't very good at considering it's price and power to weight ratio. The Accord and Camry will always be better than the Fusion.
Thats piped in sound. Turbos have way of muffling the sound of any engine they're fitted to, even the luxury makes tend to add fake sound (or piped in) with their turbo models. I'm sure there's some way to disable it and at least a dozen RUclips videos showing you how. Doesn't mean it will sound better though, just quieter..
That V6 sounds amazing... like a tiger. I love it.
That little iron block v6 has a ton of potential. I am putting 435 to the crank with just a tune and E30. So far I am very impressed.

What's that 3rd gear hesitation I am hearing? Sounds like a CVT where it holds the RPM's before shifting or climbing higher
