speaking post basic i wish we had more drills like this that will personally nitpick the uniform cause it shifts you to grow your own attention to detail thus taking care of yourself. for those who haven’t gone to basic yet everything they say is for a reason. this has a mental aspect just as much as a physical one
I know everyone has said it already, but that paper pocket tip was so fire I’ve got to compliment it again. Thank you DS for my new favorite uniform tip!
I’m not sure of the pens. But you can keep them clip or fully in the sleeve. You can also have any color ones, if you have a bright pink one you’re still in regs. Hot weather OCPs have a “pocket” by the collar that you can keep a pen in. I transferred over form USMC(buttons) to Army(zippers) And I was upset that they didn’t have a pocket there.
How do you keep your patches in such good shape? I would remove mine before I put them in the washer and then after awhile especially my American flag patch on the corners wouldn’t stick to the Velcro, and would easily get ripped off or fall off on its own. So I took the advice from my battle buddies to leave them on and wash them to get the patches to stick better to the Velcro, well now my patches and lose threads all over the place and if I want to burn them off I have to take them off so I don’t burn the Velcro either. So how do you keep them looking so high speed? And what American flag patch do you use? I have the standard issued one with the flat Velcro backing that falls off easily.
Love the folded paper trick for the shoulder pockets. I’ve never considered that. 🇺🇸

Love the look Sgt! I also see you have your uniform sewed on. That looks WAY better than the velcro.
I loved the paper in the pocket idea. I'm thinking that I could cut my old knee and elbow pad inserts to fit in my pocket too.
Yeah that could work. Paper easy fix. But damn it looks good.

Thanks it’s the truth!

I remember my sgt killing a wasp that was chilling on my chest with a bright pink pen.

I use the ones you buy as well. I don’t wash them. I do burn the edges but I replace every few months. I won’t wear a dirty one.
