In the first couple of minutes I was questioning why the friend was all up in the other's business. But, once she explained the details and the years this beautiful young woman is wasting on this jailbird, I understood the concern. A real friend would tell the truth in this instance - even while risking losing the relationship.

It’s easy to come off as judgemental when you’re friends with someone that has low self-worth. We want the best for them, and that comes off as judgemental. But it’s because we see what they don’t and it’s frustrating.

Ladies, how many times have we been in a scenario where our girlfriend refuses to leave a bad relationship yet imparts all of her frustrations and stressors onto us? When she “leaves” she’s moving freely, more available, & talking sensibly, only to get right back with him/her the next week and make it seem like she was in the wrong or it was a minor misunderstanding. These individuals are draining and never fail to neglect you until things turn sour again. How do yall deal with these type of women/friends?

Listen I’m all for my friends/family living their lives the way they want to and minding my own business unless I’m asked. However, it’s exhausting having them come to us for advice that they never take and putting themselves in these same detrimental situations that they always come back to us crying about. I’m not about to waste my energy and want better for someone if they don’t even want better for themselves. I give someone a good 3 times to come to me crying about the same situation and then I’m telling it like it is. I’m always going to be that real friend and tell you what you NEED to hear and not what you WANT to hear. If you don’t like it then go find a friend that’s going to enable the dysfunction🤷🏼♀️

I know a woman that I use to mess with 2 years ago. She told me her bf is in jail and won’t get out for another year and half. I kept my distance with here but still talked non sexual. Her bf came outta jail and left her for another woman. Wasted her time and money and literally left her for another woman. My advice to that woman would be stay away from this typa men

I learned, the hard way, that if you judge the actions of your close friend too much, you can push them away unknowingly. I had to learn to listen and close my mouth; I’m still learning it too. The elders were so right when they said listen more and talk less; a lesson I’m still trying to internalize.

"What are you doing with a jailbird." Most want whoever is going to put money on their books. Having someone beautiful is a plus. Jail is not rehabilitation and the more the person is in prison, the more desensitized they become to everyday life. Most have forgotten manners because once free any sign of being instructed to do anything sends them into being locked up in their head, again. I had a family member that stayed with me once he was released. He had the most bizarre behavior. Just common things were lost just in the short time he spent in jail. Young women are dying at an alarming rate by the hands of men who were released from jail. Look it up.

I’ve been the friend that has to pull the friend out of their struggle with mental health. I completely understand the friend.
And it is an illness. They will get out of one relationship and go in to the next with similar issues.
I had a guy who was the worst boyfriend but a great friend. With him I grew emotionally. Without him I grew in my career. But it was not until we cut off the sex, that we continued to grow up with each other, and help each other in ways we could not have if we continued to be boyfriend/girlfriend. We both together cut off so many people because we came to overstand real friendship. Cause thats really want made us soulmates, not sex.

I worked in prison for three years not jail but prison and on weekend visits they would have one girl on Saturday and a different girl on Sunday. One day an inmate said I have to be able to keep money on my books and in prison you can’t see who is visiting them, when you’re not.. They playing you 100% . I seen prisoners who never got money in their books and what they had to do for food, trust and believe
