You're the first practitioner I've come across that spoke about *ancestral* herbs and plant allies. So I looked at the native ranges of most of the plants that I am growing personally - some of them are new babies and I don't have a relationship with but as they grow our connection will grow too. I found it interesting that most of the plants I grow are from places that my ancestry is linked to or native to my area and since my family has been in this area for at least four if not five generations I think that counts as ancestral. lol. So that was a lovely little pleasant surprise.

    • @McMoldys
      @McMoldys 2 года назад +1

I’ve noticed the same for me. The first plant I ever bought was native to the same place as my ancestors. I wasnt able to take care of the plant so I euthanized it by pouring bleach into it at the same time my relationship with my family was taking a nosedive. I felt more guilt and grief than normally expected from a plant dying afterward.
The second plant I have now is native to my close friend’s native ancestral land, who I moved in with after leaving my family. I intially got it with the vision of having the new place be its home. Now im thinking those plants represented something else. Very delighted to learn about ancestral plant allies as well.

A tip for using Agua de Ruda is that you have to load it with some sprigs of rue (fresh or dried) and let it sit and infuse into the alcohol!
I've worked at botánicas and those colognes and 'aguas' they sell are all alcohol and fragrance and have little to no actual herb or essence, especially Crusellas brand colonias. They're designed to be loaded with herbs and other ingredients. Another example is the Patchouli Colonia you'll typically find it loaded with Patchouli roots!

hello Frankie, I wanted to share with you my experience with another practice of Italian folklore that isn't that common. (First of all I want to say that I'm Italian so yes, this experience is 100% part of our folklore).
Okay so basically when I was around 7/8 y.o. my mom took me to an old woman that used to live near my grandma. This woman used to do a particular practice that they all said was used to "remove the fear" (today I think that it was to remove the malocchio, bad luck, and they just didn't want to tell me to not make me scared).
When I went to get this "treatment" she used to make me sit in front of her, then she would take pure alcohol and she would wash my arms, hands, lower legs and feet with it. Then, she would massage it while whispering something (I still don't know what language it was, I asked my mom but she has no idea and I can't ask that lovely woman because she passed away a few years ago). It seemed like she was praying but honestly I'm not sure. Then, all while whispering this sort of prayer, she would pull at my fingers (both of hands and feet). At the end she would massage hands and feet again and then we were done.
Thought it was nice to share with you all, let me know if some of you finds something about it!

I think that sounds similar to a limpia (cleansing/cleaning) from a curandera. I had a limpia done by a curandera with smoke, prayer, she blew alcohol on my face and feet, an egg was rubbed on me, etc. I had to throw the egg at a crossroads over my shoulder at night without looking back. (not a dirt road thank goodness) She was praying/whispering the entire time.

I just started using mugwort for lucid dreaming 2 weeks ago... and it works! I keep a little sachet under my pillow and before I fall asleep, I slowly and deeply inhale the scent and ask for a certain kind of dream experience (happy, lucid, vivid, prophetic, etc.). The first dream was a little too intense, but overall, it's been a great experience.

UR BOOK IS HONESTLY BEEN ONE OF A KIND THAT ACTUALLY EXPLAINS ALOT AS TO WHERE MOST BOOKS THESE DAY'S ONLY COVER CERTAIN PRACTICING OR RELATED TO A RELIGION!! U SURE NAILED IT GIRL FRIEND!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR WRITING SO IT'S EASILY UNDERSTOOD!! NOW!! I'm almost positive that a Diety is knocking on my door and I really DON'T KNOW HOW to find out WHICH ONE!! Spider's are in places in my house that has never happened before and the Crows!! I'm pretty good at tarot and have ONLY been working with the card's almost a year now. IDK how to use them to TRY and see WHO is reaching out?? I am definitely a Green witch with the ability to SEE and sense spirit's/ghost's, I've been able to do that My entire LIFE. I WANNA say frm the research I have done it just seems like Hecate, but IDK lol and another weird thing is I live in Florida and recently discovered a Nightshade strand growing RITE OUTSIDE MY BACK DOOR!! It has the tiny white bell flower's and is a strand that gets the dark purple berries to it, that frm what I've read, is GREAT for topical creams that help with inflammation in the joint's like arthritis can cause. I find this AFTER I had ordered a packet of Nightshade seed's off of Amazon, only that strand will be purple flowers and good for a sleep aid or sedative. I hope U SEE this AND I HOPE it makes sense!! I'm trying to fit ALL the stuff in that has been going thru my head WITHOUT making a novel of a comment!! Herbs are life! 😍 love working with lavender. It’s like human catnip to me. My rosemary and I get along pretty well too. And the rest of my 50+ indoor plants 😅 Dandelion is another, seasonal, favorite. Going out to pick some today. Not all though because I love her for the bees and also blowing the seedlings. Is she a weed? To some. I’ll happily let her grow in various places of my garden. Now they I think about it it would be fun with an episode on allies that could be considered weeds!

I'm still new to the Craft and I would love to expand my plant/herb knowledge. My favorite plant growing up was from a Vacation Bible School. Not from a religious household, but it was fun for me nonetheless. I loved this plant so much,I named her Mary and had her for probably 10 years. She didn't make it after I moved away from home. I couldn't have plants because cats. My mom kept her going as long as she could. She was a Jerusalem cherry tree. I know basically nothing about them, but I sure loved that sweetheart of a plant! Also,I am fascinated by jade plants, so anything you.could share about those would be awesome! Loved this video a ton, thank you!

you are one of the few witches i know of who work with Hydrangea, and i really wanted to ask since I can't find much information of it online: I have been wanting to incorporate hydrangea petals in my practice since forever ago, but have read of its toxicity and possible side effects on the skin. The information that i've read online (pertaining to hydrangea) is often times referring to the root or leaf of the plant, so I would really love to know if you have any information on the petals of the flower (and if I were to incorporate it into an oil). Thank you always for your lovely videos!💗

When one considers that PP was founded by a white supremacist and that the entire abortion industry is built on the back of white supremacy, it is in everyone's best interest that Roe be overturned. Drank mint teas and grew them like weeds as a child with tomatoes and beans.
Now love mint even more and have had random poisons pop up in my gardens. Sometimes you have to learn how to work and deal with harmful plants just because that’s what may happen in nature! Stay safe tho and try to know your local stuff and invasive species.
If you want a substitute for rose, raspberry is very fun. The flowers appear rose like and the fruits can be dried (many seeds) the branches are also super thorny and the leaves themselves have spines, they’re a great tea but it’s important to be careful even with normal safe plants that you may eat often. Good prosperity good protection and like rose their roots grow and spread and pop up new plants so there’s a crawling aspect and acceleration in growing/change.
Something to note is that raspberry burns in sunlight and does best shading itself and it’s fruits via its mass of leaves and branches, it’s a gentle yet strong protection that focuses on aiding the self and lends itself to ants mostly, so communal aspects or participation after oneself is situated/supported.

Just to clarify, can you form relationships with herbs you can only really find in their “kitchen herb” form? Cuz for a while now, I’ve found myself being very much drawn to Black Peppercorn. I’m also drawn to Basil and somewhat to Rosemary, but those I know I can grow. Black peppercorn, however, I don’t think I’m in the right climate for the plant to thrive, so I’d only be able to use the kitchen herb.

Works great if used at least 2 times a week (every time you wash) - so I just mix it up and keep it in a really tiny dropper bottle in my bathtub.
