He wrote all down as the progress of man. Twainesque humor wit, the heart and soul of Hemingway, throw in Dylan's open cowboy chords to boot. RIP John Prine.

I was lucky enough to see John Prine and his best friend Steve Goodman in Austin, Texas, at Armadillo World in 1973. Just the two of them standing on the stage with their acoustic guitars. Everyone loved them. Then I saw him with John Lee Hooker, Doctor John and John Hammond Jr. in a small theater in Miami. Then another time in a beautiful, new event center Fort Lauderdale where I am from. The acoustics were beautiful. Just by himself up on the stage making everybody laugh and cry. I have been blessed. I swear I become a crybaby every time I listen to him.

He could have played an over the top guitar part too. It looks like He called someone out of the audience that knows the song and can play the chords. Hopefully Sturgil will keep making great music and fill his shoes for our kids to have an old guy that's still cool
